    Chunky guacamole!!!

I'm sorry, but I'm here right now, and they're chunky guacamole is just the best! I've had four meals here different every time and everything I've had is wonderful, authentic and homemade! Family run and wonderful

Hidden gem alert in Monroe. The Birria Quesadillas will knock your socks off. Tucked away in a strip mall with just a small sign that says, "Mexican Restaurant".

From the service to the food, I cannot rave about this place enough. I got the birria tacos and they were, bar none, the best I've had around the area. The chunky guacamole was refreshing and delicious. The Tres Leches was out of this world. Please do not hesitate to stop in here when crossing through town. You will not regret it!!!

The absolute best Mexican food we've eaten since moving to Monmouth County NJ. I'd sweep the floors daily just to obtain a meal

Great beef enchiladas! Good service, too. Brings me back to Western Ave and Hollywood Blvd in the late 1960's!

The place is just as colorful and decorative inside as it is on the outside. They have different specials everyday and during the weekend they offer brunch specials along with bottomless mimosas. On Mondays they have buy 1 get 1 free margaritas. Happy Hour Monday-Thursday and other specials on all the other weekdays. My husband and I got some cocktails, guacamole, I got the chicken fajitas, and my husband got the birria tacos. I loved my espresso martini as it had a chocolate hint too it which I feel many places don't do anymore. My husband got the peach and mango belinni where the mango flavor was stronger than the peach which I loved because I am a mango fan. My husband wished his taco shells for the birria were a bit harder/crunchier but other than that he loved the flavor. I loved my chicken fajiatas as the chicken was still very tender. It also lasted me another 2 meals after this one. Although this place is a little on the pricier side I feel like you get your moneys worth. Plus the service is good and very fast.

There were 6 of us. The waiter gave us a small basket of chips. I asked if it was possible for another basket. He reluctantly said yes but never brought them. We asked another person and they didn't bring them either. My son wanted a steak quesadilla. The waiter said that the steak in the quesadilla was chili rubbed and the only way to have it plain was to get the up-charged $10 steak. That's absurd! My 3 year old would definitely not want a chili rubbed steak. I ordered chicken quesadillas instead. They were just ok. Nothing special. They didn't come with anything so I ordered rice and beans. I found them to be overpriced and not worth it.

On this lunch trip, however, we sat at the bar and I opted to grab a burger on my friend's recommendation. Our bartender was quick to take our order and the food came out quickly too. I picked a Cajun burger cooked medium and the temp came out just right. The burger was flavorful, but not very spicy. I wish they would have kicked up the spice level a notch or two. My one friend had the same burger and said they are usually more spicy. The portion of fries was a bit small, but overall the meal was filling enough to leave me satisfied. The bar area has a nice backlit display and seats about 15. There are some high top tables in the bar area as well. The regular dining area is much larger and is more elevated, but semi-formal dress is plenty fine You won't be disappointed if you visit Ciro's. NOTE: They do NOT have pickles. My friends knew this and knew that they were getting burgers, so they brought a few pickle spears

Initially we were a bit taken back because the waitress told us she couldn't take an order for appetizers first, that we had to order the entire order at once. She eventually did take our appetizers order separately. Things definitely went up from here, not only the service but the meal. Everything we ordered from appetizers to desserts were amazing. Not a single complaint from anyone. Their bruschetta appetizers, excellent. And their salmon entree was delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant for their delicious food and the great service.

The chicken flautas and empanadas were perfect to share for appetizers. I ordered the chicken bowl which came with a variety of sauces, rice, beans, guacamole. Basically all the fixings for inside a taco. I really enjoyed it! My friend spoke highly of her chicken tacos as well. We originally wanted to order tres leches for dessert. However, it was frozen according to our waiter. We tried the churros instead, but they didn't taste as fresh. We loved our spicy margaritas and espresso martinis. This is definitely a fun place to visit especially if you are going to see a show at the Bergen PAC! It's right next door. Parking at times can be limited especially on a weekend.

Based on past years and just general expectations for Cinco de Mayo, you'd expect at least some drink deals or themed offerings. At minimum, there should have been some kind of special to match the holiday. This didn't live up to the expectations they set.

Due to the long wait (1 hr+) in the fall, we ended up leaving and not trying out this restaurant. This time, I was pleasantly surprised that we were seated within a few minutes in the outside dining area, even without a reservation this go around. The drinks are the focal point! There are so many options, all of which are unique and delicious, and they come out looking so fun. I had the Tamarindo and my husband opted for El Jefe. The Tamarindo had a delicious, sour tajin rim. I was sold from that point on! Before any food came out, we were provided with complementary chips, pico de gallo, and hot sauce. A nice way to ease into the food. Our appetizer was a citrusy shrimp dish, with the seafood plated on avocado mouse. I've never tried avocado in this format and it was so delightful- soft and creamy! The sauce was perfectly citrusy and the presentation made it look like art. My main dish was the spicy shrimp tacos. They were sufficiently packed, not overfilled, which I appreciated. I was full after one taco and had two more to take home. Overall, this is a good energy, lively spot with loud Latin music and good eats. Slightly on the pricier side, but well worth the energetic atmosphere. Staff were so friendly and helpful- couldn't ask for more in this department. Great way to spend a summer evening!

From the entrance there is a tiny patio and down the stairs little cute bar area. Down stairs is the bathroom and up stairs is larger seating! We got the Pine and Passion and Spicy Rabbit!, along with beef quesadilla and some guacamole. The drink menu eat the time was limited but I believe they will have their entire menu again soon with 40+ drinks! The Spicy Rabbit was delicious and packed full of flavor. On the sweeter side but very unique cause it's made out of carrot liquor! Pine and passion super refreshing and another great choice if you don't want spicy. The guacamole and beef quesadilla were delicious as well. Earlier that day I had invited a few friends to join us who both said no, but then suddenly turned up. The maya mezcal wasn't too busy and was super nice to re seat us upstairs since we ended up with 7 people total. My friends ordered the grilled avocado, chicken and more guacamole. All dishes were delicious. Grilled avocado was definitely a first and very interesting, but chicken was definitely better lol. I had such a great time I brought my brother for quick drink who was visiting New York later that week. He loved the spicy rabbit as well and had a great time chatting with bartender. Overall a solid bar and cute date spot. Will def be back to try their other drinks and food! Definitely recommend this place for anything from quick drinks, dinner, date to girls night!

We popped in early Saturday evening and was maybe one of two tables (it was early on a Saturday and it's also dark inside on one of the first really beautiful, warm Spring days in NYC). The decor has changed over the years (less character, especially upstairs in the dining area), and service was overall okay. We got a few drinks, an order of chips and salsa aka Salsa Fresca, and a few food items off the menu to try. Food: Salsa Fresca (Chips and Salsa): was extremely overpriced at $10 for a small handful of half-stale chips and what felt like a tablespoon of flavorless salsa. Camarones El Diablo (Shrimp in a spicy Diablo sauce): 5 medium size shrimp for $16 in a tasty, spicy sauce, with some warmed up store-bought flour tortilla. Steak Quesadilla: the best meal one of us got - steak was a flavorful ribeye and the quesadilla overall had plenty of protein, too. It had a good balance of cheese, steak, tortilla, and pickled onions. Trio of Tacos: nothing special, and again at $20 ? Overpriced. Cocktails: One of us ordered the Mezcal Sour, and I got the Spicy Rabbit - both were not very boozy and definitely not worth $18 each. This was a bit of a disappointment, honestly. And considering what Mayahuel used to be, I hope they can make a comeback. But, based on this visit, we won't be back.
