    VEGGIE PLANT-BASED CHORIZO BOWL
    Glenn G.

Relatively new place in South Durham. We had a coupon and decided to pop in on a weekday for an early dinner. It's a fast-casual place where you order at the counter and then have your food brought to you. I got Boom Boom shrimp tacos and my wife got the veggie-based chorizo bowl. Service was fast and friendly and food was filling and okay if not spectacular. Other patrons were coming in while we were there to either eat in or get takeout. With so many options in Durham, this place has lots of competition.

Saw this place and thought that I would try it.... I ordered the BOOM BOOM Shrimp Taco Trio. It's 3 Crunchy tacos with grilled shrimp, boom boom sauce, lettuce, cilantro and onions. It also comes with a side of chips and a super small cup of salsa. The taste of tacos were really good however, in my opinion they were small. I mean for $16 (which included a fountain drink for $3.89) it was over priced. I thought it was kinda odd that they only offered Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Starry, and Rootbeer as fountain drinks, but offered a variety of bottled drinks. The staff were really friendly and at this point, I'm not sure if I'll try them again... Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

We stopped in here for a late dinner after a movie at Southpoint, and there was a really fun party vibe. The staff was super friendly and helpful, so perky, and the music was awesome! They are doing some creative things with fusion food in a fast-casual setting. We ended up trying the hibachi burrito with shrimp and a garlic aioli. It's nice how customizable everything is. Would definitely stop back in!

Signature creations that you can still tweak.

Opening Day is today, 2/17, and the first 50 customers get free burrito, so hurry over!! The employees are super nice, the food is delicious, and there's so many choices! They have a selection of signature burritos. I got the Aloha Hawaiian pork, which is absolutely delicious!! I did a few tweaks with the toppings and the sauce, but otherwise had it as is. And let me tell you, it is Huge!!You can also custom make any entrée picking whatever meat, toppings, choice of sauce, etc. It's small inside with a smattering of chairs along the wall where the order line forms, but they do have outdoor seating. All in all a great addition to this strip area. Check em out!!

Very fresh and flavorful food. And they give you so much! The service is really quick. Small interior but they have outdoor seating. They also offer call ahead and pickup. Definitely a lunch or dinner contender if in in the area. I'd go back for the quesadilla and to try the nachos.

Food is good. Place is small so not really an eat in spot. I will probably go there again.

They have a pretty wide variety of options, but you definitely can't go wrong with their tacos! Super affordable and will leave you feeling satisfied and full. Everyone is really friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. Definitely recommend! Especially their asada, chorizo, and lengua tacos! Will be back to try other things on the menu too. Bonus: they have their own parking lot which is nice!

A little salty, but balances out with the spicy salsa they provide. - Camarones Ala Mexicana Platter: Good if you want a lighter, healthier feeling option. - Quessabirrias: Honestly, felt a little too greasy for me & the consommé wasn't super deep in flavor. It was okay. - Pupusa con Pollo: I think the pupusas will be my favorite item to get here! - Horchata: Love their horchata; super cinnamon-y and refreshing. Fast service during weekday dinnertime; fine ambiance. 9/10 would recommend!

Came here after the Durham Farmers Market with a friend and wow this place was a surprise. …read more I went with the grain bowl and honestly it is one of the best I have had in downtown Durham. It is built on quinoa and rice with black beans and kale, then layered with corn salsa, tomato cortido, guacamole, and a creamy acevichado style sauce that pulls everything together. It is finished with a crunchy mix of pepitas, nuts, and grains. The balance is quite ideal in my view. My friend had the rotisserie chicken with two sides, kale and slaw, and it was just as impressive. Crispy skin, juicy inside, and really clean flavors. Simple food done right and GF friendly. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Prices land right where you would expect for the quality, roughly 16 to 21 dollars depending on what you order, and it feels worth it. My bowl plus side of dark chicken was plenty. A few notes. Parking is what you would expect for downtown, so plan accordingly. Service was solid and friendly, but nothing that stood out. The vibe inside is festive and relaxed, bright and open, and just a fun place to hang out for lunch. Porbably not a special occasion. I also suspect it could get loud when full. This is definitely going into my regular rotation. That grain bowl is going to be hard to pass up next time, so instead of replacing it I will probably just add a side or an empanada and start working my way through the rest of the menu.
