    Chicken fajitas- no cheese
    Marie S.

Plenty of parking- My husband and I went in for lunch after the little bit of snow Raleigh got- most places were closed. We were greeted at the door- they sat us immediately (place was almost empty) I had the chicken fajitas- no cheese - It was very tasty- plenty of vegetables and chicken- it came with beans , lettuce, 3 flour shells and a dab of guacamole (guacamole had no flavor) I would have liked some pico or tomatoes to go on my taco - it was still good- Our server was nice and attentive. Plenty of TV's - not too loud. Decorating was traditional and pleasant to look at.

Had a good time here. The wait was fairly short to get seated. The food took a little bit to come out, but generally that was fine since we had chips and salsa to keep us busy. The enchiladas I ordered were great. They came in fairly large portion sizes and the price was very reasonable.

We had a great time at Los Tres Magueyes. Quick service, refreshed chips and salsa, and delicious food. I ordered the enchiladas suizas -- usually, I'm used to more of a green sauce for enchiladas suizas. This sauce was really rich and creamy. It was still delicious, though. Portions were also huge and the price was pretty good as well. I would definitely come back.

Nice place in a strip mall of Green Level Ch Rd near a really good ice cream place. Clean and extremely colorful interior. The waitress serving me was very friendly and even brought more of the complimentary salsa when I was running low without me having to ask. I ordered the ACP with Veggies. The chicken was in thinly sliced strips with green beans, carrots and other stuff in the rice. That was topped with broccoli, squash and zucchini with a generous helping of tasty cheese. It was delicious. Overall a very pleasant experience. One of the best Mexican restaurants around. I'll be back to try some other dishes.

    Tres magueyes dinner

Too tired to cook after a long day so decided to try a different Mexican restaurant from our usual haunt. Ambiance is typical Mexican with carved furniture depicting scenes of Mexico. It was a bit loud since there was a rather boisterous group on the other side of our booth. Service was ok. Our server didn't really check up on us. We had to seek her out. My rumchata (horchata with rum) was very tasty since it's made with their own horchata. The food overall is just ok. The tres magueyes dinner had a thin piece of chicken breast, a think piece of steak (to me it didn't taste very fresh), shrimp and veggies. The rice on our platters all came out cold. We had to seek the waitress out to let her know & she brought a replacement platter. Steak was on the chewy side. Chicken was a bit dry What I did like was the amount of veggies with the platter. Overall experience was just ok. It pales in comparison to other Mexican restaurants that we normally go to.

Bloody fantastic. Authentic Mexican food (and I REALLY mean it) and family run. Margaritas are very good but honestly, the food, the service, the choices and the staff were all amazingly good. Definitely will be back very soon..

This is our closest Mexican restaurant and I'm glad they're really good with their service and food. So whenever we crave some quesadillas or chimichangas, this is our place. I have never dined in there and have always done only pick ups. They almost always check the items before sending your way to make sure everything has been packed, but I would encourage to ask them to check again if it's a busy time of the day.

There was a Giant cockroach in the dinning area, running across the top of a booth. Obviously, it ruined our dinner. I will never go back.

The staff were very attentive and hospitable. On Tuesdays, they have a Mix & Match 3 tacos deal for $11.99. You can mix both flour or corn tortilla tacos, but it doesn't include the Birria tacos. I ended up trying the shrimp tacos on flour tortilla, ribeye taco on corn, and al pastor on corn. I also tried a bite of the carne asada on flour taco from my sister. I would highly recommend the al pastor taco. It's juicy (comes with pineapple sticks) and the flavor is fantastic. The shrimp was also good but it's on the heavier side bc they add cheese. The ribeye was my least favorite and although the flavor is good, it's pretty dry without much sauce. If you want steak, I would go for the carne asada instead (they add guac) Overall, fantastic restaurant and a great deal for tacos on Tuesdays. My favorite part is the complimentary chips and salsa. Life changing.

When you arrive there is plenty of parking around the restaurant. Walking in you'll feel like you've been transported to a trendy, upscale, and casual comfort atmosphere. For appetizers we ordered the dip sampler which had the queso, guacamole, and bean dip. By far my favorite dip was the queso. For my entree I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was a little overcooked but tasty. Also, the flour tortillas tasted like they were made in house. This is probably some of the closer Mexican food I'm use to in Texas. Definitely check this restaurant out if you are in the Cary area.

I usually rotate between the tacos, enchiladas, and molcajetes, and while the tacos themselves are just okay, the overall experience is solid. The fresh chips are easily some of the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant (warm and crisp). Add queso to those chips and it really seals the deal. They more than make up for the tacos being a bit underwhelming and are honestly reason enough to come back. This is a great neighborhood spot if you're looking for authentic flavors, generous portions, and excellent chips and dips (biggest downside is no liquor aka no margaritas). Not every dish is a knockout, but the highlights keep it comfortably in 4-star territory.

I was really one mayonnaise filled torta away from missing out on my favorite Mexican restaurant of Cary. The food is some of the freshest and most authentic in the area, and is consistently spot on. Forget heavy burritos or overly sauced enchiladas, this place is the real deal. When you come to Esmeralda Grill, you should really focus on the meat heavy dishes, whether it be via land or sea. There are so many different options to choose from, from both categories. When thinking seafood, expect the full fish. If you find yourself with the fresh grilled tilapia, you will receive a delicious whole fish that tastes as if it was caught that morning. It is such a fantastic option. I also appreciate the camarones a la diabla, or Diablo shrimp. The shrimp are plump and juicy, the spice of the dish is excites your taste buds and is a great dish. My favorite entrees are the land meat dishes though. El Trio Perfecto is my go-to order, it is grilled steak, chicken and pork all on one plate with rice, beans, salad, and tortillas. The Mexican spice rub on the meats is absolutely mouth watering, the flavors are so bold and tasty. The meats are all cooked to perfection and the portions are gigantic. You can make different tacos with the various meats, it is seriously one of my favorite Mexican dishes. I would highly recommend this! Additionally, Esmeralda Grill has so many other wonderful dishes for different flavor profiles. My grandparents are pretty particular about empanadas, but simply cannot get enough of Esmeralda's version. They also make some killer tacos, and some very affordable ones if you were to come on Tuesday! The moral of the story? Don't base your opinion of a restaurant after a single visit. You don't come across a fantastic hole in the wall every day, Esmeralda Grill is one that every Mexican food lover should know!

While the food is on the pricey end, the portion sizes make up for it and the quality is there. On my first visit, I tried their Tres Amigos dish. It is basically a mix grill with shrimp, steak and chicken. It came with rice, beans, and veggies. The meats were super flavorful and the rice and beans were actually great! I hate it when a Mexican place just dumps overcooked rice and goopy beans and calls it a day. The veggies were very clearly frozen and came from a bag, wasn't all that excited by that. I think arroz con pollo (ACP) is one of the simplest, yet, most delicious Mexican dishes. It is chicken, cheese and rice, how can you mess that up? Mamacita does their ACP justice. The chicken is tender, there is a nice balance between the cheese and rice, and it is just a great combination altogether. They also do a decent job with their birria tacos (although wasn't the biggest fan of the consume) and their churrasco plate. They even top it with a legit salad, not just the chopped lettuce and tomato. In the end, I am always full and satisfied with the meal. I certainly think this is worth a visit. Oh, I forgot to mention everyone's favorite thing about the place, they have a robot server! Definitely very cute.
