My first time visiting Bubblys and here is what I saw.    _New Years Eve hours sign still on the front door 3 days AFTER the holiday (I blame management).  _Dining area did not look clean (and not very busy).  _County Food Safety score of 94.5 is not an acceptable score (more detail on this later). _Person on the register was talking on the phone while the customer in front of me was waiting (did not sound like a business related call).  _Not all food prep employees were wearing hats, one worker was touching his hair then back to food prep, nobody was wearing gloves.  At this point we no longer wanted to eat here so we left (went next door to Tony's Pizza).    I looked up their most recent food safety inspection and here are a few violations.    _Hand-washing sink had no paper towels (so are they even washing their hands?).  _Refrigeration coolers running above 50 degrees (should be below 41 degrees). _Dirt buildup in kitchen area (repeat violation from prior inspections).  _Outside garbage dumpster area was messy. _General cleaning of facilities is a repeat violation including "large amount of buildup near fryers".    Note that ALL of the food inspection scores in 2025 were below a 95. There are numerous other restaurants around with employees who care about their customer's health achieving scores of 100 read more

I came here because it was conveniently located near the Target. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the variety on the menu. I was expecting ramen only but ended up getting bibimbop and a side of kimchi. The kimchi was super good with the perfect amount of spice. The bibimbop was good and very filling. The quality and portion for the price was great. The space itself is a little cold and sterile but they have spaces for small or large groups and they have one of those grass Instagram walls. Awful customer service...We walk in go to the counter to place our order patiently waiting because we see they were busy. The girl at the front look at us multiple times, we waited for 10 minutes. A couple walks in behind us and she says "I'll be with you in just a moment". Completely acting like we were not standing right at the counter waiting. They were helped right away and we are still standing there waiting. Left and not going back. I'm very patient but not patient enough to be treated like that. I have been going to Bubblys ever since it was known as House of Nom Nom in that original tiny space, so being able to visit it in its larger space is exciting. Bubblys is a laidback spot for fusion Asian eats, ranging from classic bibimbap to banh mi fries. Their new space has an industrial feel with several steel tables to seat people. There is a chill atmosphere for people to eat. The service is fine, but it can take some time for the food to come out depending on how busy they are. On my most recent visit to Bubblys, I got their Loaded Fries and Lychee Bubble Tea with Popping Pearls. As always, the Loaded Fries were a hit for me! The Loaded Fries consisted of cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, and scallions, which are a great combination. I also ate some of the Kimchi Fries which were also good! The kimchi gave is a sour flavor, so if you are not a fan of that on your fries, do not get it. The Kimchi Fries supposedly come with bulgogi beef, but I could not find them on the fries. I am unsure if they were just really small pieces, but I hope that there is more of a presence for the bulgogi beef as it could have helped with the sour taste coming from the kimchi. The Lychee Bubble Tea with Popping Pearls was yummy, but be warned that their bubble tea is actually a slush. I have not had the chance to try an actual full meal from the place, but what I have tried has been good. I think that Bubblys is a good introduction to Asian food for people who are not too familiar with the cuisines and flavors, especially in a city like Hickory. I want more Asian restaurants to thrive in Hickory so I support this spot! read more

Had some fancy pork ramen, an amazing hamburger, delightful fries, kids chicken nuggets and some boba. Go for the red chili oil as it has the perfect level of burning joy. We sat outside and enjoyed this fabulous treat. My eldest had a side of rice and loved every grain. Service was prompt and friendly. Our order was taken and we were provided a buzzer to inform us of when our meal was ready for pick up. Appreciated that the ramen came with sturdy plastic chop sticks. Several notices to check your order before leaving the counter to ensure accuracy. Our order was very accurate so this was not an issue. We order 1 Thai tea. The boba was all clumped up in a fist like glue. We tried using the straw to break it and unfortunately it does not break. Who ever scooped the boba, cannot miss it that the boba was all fisted together. Got this drink for almost $10, def not worth it. read more

Good food! Decently priced. I ordered the Sapporo Miso, pork was tasty and the ramen was perfect and the broth was perfectly savory. I also ordered the Shio ramen, it was a little salty and the chicken was slightly underwhelming but it was still good. I tried the crème brûlée boba tea and it's slightly off, maybe too much fake sugar. Overall if you want something good avoid the shio ramen and the crème brûlée boba, the Sapporo miso was good. The restaurant was empty but it was lunch time Friday so everyone was busy. Also the ambience is good, the chairs and tables aren't perfect for a 6'2" giant guy like me but it's not anything to write home about. No paper towels in the bathroom though, I'm the type of guy to not use the air blow hand dryer because it spreads germs. Even though it wastes paper, paper towels actually dry your hands better. Ordered online on sidecar for pickup, then ate outside. We ordered Pho fries, Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, pork banh mi sandwich, strawberry Boba smoothie. We were about 20minutes late in picking up the order so unfortunately the food was cold. The young kids were unorganized when I asked for my order. It took them a minute to figure out where my order was. My smoothie also wasn't even ready so they made it on the spot. The smoothie was the worst part of the whole meal, tested artificial. Everything else was okay. The Tokyo shoyu ramen was the best out of everything. It would've been nice if the ramen came with any vegetables, even if it was a small amount. The mayo wasn't spread evenly on the banh mi and the bread was too chewy/too old. The pho fries are almost like eating pho with hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce. The fries were greasy and soggy since maybe we took too long to pick it up. Limited high chairs are available. There's a changing table in the restroom. I wouldn't mind coming back if I was around town to try their other menu items, but wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Horrible prices and there's multiple doors that don't work with poor customer service

The restaurant was busy on a Friday night, when you see the place busy that means it must be really good. The staff that took our orders were nice and kind. I also like the set up for the restaurant, the decor is nice. However, the place felt like it not kept up well, but may be it is Friday they are busy and hard to kept up. We didn't want Ramen, as it was hotter in the summer. So we ordered the burgers, the burgers bun felt really dry and the meat patties are also on the dryer side. The most disappointing point is the teriyaki burger didn't seem to have any type of teriyaki flavor in it. The fries was good. I looked around I saw everyone is ordering Ramen, so may be I just ordered the wrong things. I will try again next time in the area. read more

Yum! Yum! Yum! I really enjoyed this restaurant. The cashier was patient and friendly, because it definitely took me a while to decide what I wanted. The food came out piping hot and it was SO good! I had the Bibimbap, garlic soy wings, & a mango boba tea. Bibimbap 4/5 - I love spinach but for some reason it didn't blend well with the other flavors & they gave me too much rice.....I'll just ask for my rice on the side next time. Like some recent Yelpers, I agree that it is easy to miss the restaurant as the entrance comes up quick and there is limited parking. But after we turned around and looked again we found it. The location was at the end of a strip center and the staff was very quiet so take a few minutes to look over the menu as there are a number of items. We both got Bahn Mi sandwiches, mine was beef and my wife had the chicken. I thought mine could have used a little more acid in the sandwich or some heat, but it was good. What was excellent though was the Kim Chee fries that were so good, delicious, and full of flavor, and left me wanting all of them. Great stop even if it is a little hard to find. read more

So I Ended up coming up to NC to move my brother in law in for his first day of college. We decided to stop into bubbly for lunch after getting him settled. We ordered the following: Korean wings (I think) & a side of reg fries: from what my brother in law said, the wings were good, juicy and churchy. He got about 6 in total and cleared them off the bone. The fries were delicious and fresh and came with a huge portion. Based off his experience, I would recommend it. Teriyaki Rice Bowl- wife ordered this and sadly wasn't pleased with the bowl at all. The rice was over cooked and soggy while the chicken was pretty bland. The owners were kind enough to make another one for her but it tasted the same. Based off her experience, I wouldn't recommend it Pineapple Teriyaki burger & Asada Fries - I ordered this and thought the burger was just okay. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't amazing. It was also a bit smaller than expected. The Asada fries were good but just had a lot going on with the toppings. Based off my experience, I would recommend trying the fries over the burger, just be prepared for a large helping. Oh, and I had a Thai tea boba, which was probably the best thing out of everything I purchased! If your in hickory and need a quick bite, this spot is worth a try. Honestly not terrible but needs improvement. We will start off with the good which was the banh mi fries. Fried nicely sauce is delicious well seasoned and beef was fatty yet delicious. Garnish all very fresh. My favorite of the 3 things I ordered Korean chicken sandwich was OK but definitely needs some work. The good part is the important part right which was the sauce and the chicken. The bun and pickles were an issue. Floppy and tasteless pickle didn't help balance it. I was looking for more a acidity. Bread also could be better it's just a regular bun. Worst of the 3 us the creme brulee drink. Just taste like sugar water not creamy enough very flat in terms flavor. read more

Wow. Both items were great. The fries were the exact type of fry I like, sort of like Checkers fries. Very potatoey but golden & crispy on the outside. I'm not a fan of the appearance of items, as long as they taste good I'm not picky at how it looks, but the fries LOOKED good and tasted good. Really good bang for your buck as well for only being $6. The wings were crispy on the outside but not dried out on the inside. Very happy with both purchases. We stopped here for a quick lunch. Parking is decent, with many spots adjacent to the entrance. Handicapped parking is also available. On entering, we noticed outside the door was very sticky. It didn't look like something had been spilled recently, but there was definitely a buildup of something. Inside, the floor was clean, as was the rest of the restaurant. We picked a table, but there is also outside seating on a patio. It does not have shade, however, or any table umbrellas. Our food took about ten minutes to prepare. The Bahn mi chicken was excellent. Wonderful flavor. The Bulgogi cheesesteak was also very good. The only real complaint was the blender they use for making some of the drinks is very loud. We were sitting on the far side of the seating area and had to stop talking whenever the blender started. read more

Very easy to miss if you aren't looking. It is located at the end of a small strip with limited parking. The ramen bowls and bubble teas are flavorful and delicious but you have to specifically ask for tapioca pearls or you will not get them! Overall, the food and drinks are worth a visit; however, staff are not friendly and can be inattentive. Be prepared to wait for your order to be taken with limited customer service and engagement. There's no place in Hickory, NC like Bubblys. If you want Asian American fusion inspired street food -- this is the place to be. The menu offers a variety of items ranging from burgers, chicken wings, fries, boba tea, and more. If you want to play it safe, I suggest going with a burger or wings. This will give you a good preview of the unique menu. I highly recommend the "Laab Chicken Wings". Think of a nice herby salad which a kick of heat. It's by far one of my favorites on the menu. On the other hand, an order of "kimch fries" will also hit the spot. The order is big enough to share between two people. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'm always greeted by the workers. This shop can get busy during the lunch and dinner rush but that says a lot, right? The food is always made to order which is a plus. You may have to wait a bit for your food but that's the cost of fresh food. Talking about cost, you can easily share an order of wings, special fries, and boba tea for under $15-20.
