What is this place a gas station, convenience store, gift shop, restaurant built around a block of restrooms? You might think that if you have never been to a Buc ee's and that is what I used to think. It's like a glorified gas station, an ultra mini market etc, and it's huge. The other "mega" gas stations down the road have nothing on this baby. There must be about 25 stalls and urinals in the men's restroom so you can imagine the same (only stalls) for the womens and you want to know the kicker? You could probably eat off of the floor there but I wouldn't recommend it. Thirsty and pass by these places a lot? You can buy one of those "tank" size plastic thermos for about $8 and then make your return visits and refill for .99 cents. Do you want a souvenir before leaving Texas? The gift area has many items from shirts, shot glasses, belt buckles, hats etc. They have those ultra expensive Yetti coolers here but don't fret about that but understand that with those coolers you can put something in there with ice and it'll still be cold a week later. Beef jerky, candies, chips, cookies all have their own dedicated isle and there is enough space between them where I'd say 3 sumo wrestlers could pass by comfortably. If you are ever here in the middle of the morning and happen to pay attention when you walk out of the doors you will notice how almost immaculate all of the 50 plus gas pumps stand with no mentioning of oil leaks, trash on the ground or people bothering you begging for money, at least I have not experienced that before. Hungry for sandwich type food? There is an island of computer screens where you peck in your order, pay for it and it gets prepped and called out to you over an aluminum counter. There are gourmet Hot Dogs, wraps, burritos and a few side items. You pay at the screen and can customize your order there. The coffee area is a big plus, it's huge, has a lot of variety for each discriminative taste. Incredible. So incredible. The largest gas station in the area by far. Best part--no 18 wheelers. The opposite of a truck stop. This embodies everything that is the quintessential Texas customer. No wait for gas (50+ pumps), spacious and clean restrooms, Texas sized layout of the store, and 30 cashiers. Just amazing. In corporate speak...the consumer will not wait on them to handle their transaction, so they've sped up the entire process by volume of products and services. Wish they could bring this model beyond just Texas, Florida and Alabama, but the company is fairly litigious pursuant to their large format travel center concept design. Buc-ee's is always a must have whenever traveling on the road in Texas. There are tons of snacks and drinks that you can fill up on when you're traveling. I had an ICEE which kept me awake for the rest of the trip. Bathrooms are also super nice and it's a nice break off the road. read more

I can't believe I am writing a review about a gas station and the attached store but for good old bucees I have to! Definitely the best bathrooms at any gas station I have ever seen. I was blown away by what seemed like several hundred urinals when I walked in! I even was able to pick up a fresh sausage egg and cheese croissant which was very tasty! The spicy sesame seed sticks make for a delicious road time snack. I would highly recommend stopping by here during any road trip! read more

Come here often when making trips to Austin and Somerville. Love how CLEAN their restrooms are, all the food and items they have to offer, and cheap bags of ice! Super friendly staff and I truly mean that! I once forgot my phone in the restroom stall, and a kind Samaritan turned it in. I had left the store already and looked at my Apple Watch and noticed my phone was not connected. My friend had then called my phone, and store clerk had answered the phone notifying me that my phone was safe. I turned around in minutes and picked up my phone! You can rest assured that any stop at a Buc-cees will be enjoyable. Buc-cees is a Texas based convenience and gas stop. They are really popular because they offer dozens of gas pumps, super clean restrooms, tons of snack food choices and some really fun boutique type shopping. The unique beaver logo is becoming popular for Texans. I have seen people in Buc-cees t-shirts in Tokyo, Key West, Washington D.C. and Denver. I think they started in Lulling, TX along I-10. This was the perfect pit-stop for travelers driving between Houston and San Antonio. You can tank up, get coffee, sugary snacks and hit the restroom before continuing on the 4 hour trek. Somewhere I read that Buc-cees was awarded the "cleanest restroom in America". You fact finders can Google this and let me know if I'm right. All I know is this appears to be true - and I travel more than most. The beaver logo comes down from the owner whose nickname was "Beaver". Not sure how one gets this nickname ... maybe he's a Civil Engineer? More research required. This Buc-cees in Waller, TX is relatively new. We come out this way for my daughter's Pitching Lessons and always make it a point to stop. Buc-cees people are always friendly, good at customer service and cheerful. Just what you hope for when pulling off the highway for a rest stop. read more

Why can't other gas stations figure out this one simple trick to getting customers to talk about and drive a little further just so we can get to their place to rest and refresh?! That one concept has made buc-ee's the empire that it is today. And great marketing. Now they could sell just about anything in their store. And they just about do sell anything you could want. Bought a small pack of firewood late one night from Buc-ee's on a whim because it was cold and late and I didn't want the hassle of going all the way to my Brothers house so I figured I would give it a shot. DO NOT BUY WOOD FROM BUCEES. It is GREEN and WILL NOT burn and EXPENSIVE. And to top it off they will not refund you your money because "well it's been used"...yes Buc-ee's, that's right, my Intention with buying this firewood was to burn it. When it did NOT burn AT ALL i chose to return it because it was DEFECTIVE. Buc-Ee's Waller And to top it off the manager, Jason, was dismissive of my concerns and had no sensible defense on why he couldn't accept my valid return. According to him and his logic, he would accept batteries that wouldn't work once tried but not the wood. Walked In there expecting a simple in and out transaction. Turned into a huge deal because apparently Buc-ees doesn't appreciate their customers. So buyers beware. DO NOT BUY FIREWOOD FROM BUCEES. Green Grass would burn easier than this wood. I tried to contact Buc-ee's thru their website to report this incident. After typing a detailed account of my experience and hit "submit", I received an error message and was routed away from that page. So here it is... I was part of a large group who stopped by the Waller, TX location after a marching band competition on Saturday, October 7th. We stopped in around 8:00 p.m. I bought lots of stuff ($46.05 in total) including prepackaged beef jerky along with hot and spicy jerky from the meat counter. That jerky was over $25 alone. To my dismay, less than one week after purchase, I open the jerky and find it with well developed mold on it. I tried calling the location directly but their phone has an auto-recording that any comments or suggestions should be placed thru their web site. So that's what I tried. Then u can't leave anything on their website. How convenient. What is not convenient is my proximity to that location. Frankly I don't live close to any of the locations, which is precisely why I went wild buying everything that caught my eye. I am posting this hoping that they reach out to me for some resolution. read more

Stopped at Buckys in Luling Texas couple weeks ago displaces jam packed with people very hard to maneuver in the parking lot to get to gas pumps a lot of traffic with large RVs trying to navigate the parking lot. I love Bucees and really enjoy coming here for a pit stop, buy some snacks, and using their clean restrooms. However, about 20% of the people here were not wearing masks and it made me extremely uncomfortable. I did not feel safe at all in this gas station. It was extremely packed and a lot of people were not social distancing either. It's a grocery store sized convenience store offering a variety of Texas souvenirs, local candy, pickled veggies, desserts, sauces, food, camping gear and a lot more. If there was ever a zombie apocalypse, this is the store you'd want to raid. If you're hungry, they have a bakery pushing fresh made cookies and cakes, a place where they roast a variety of nuts, fresh kolaches (a sausage inside bread), and a bbq pit in the middle of the store... you know, just in case you want some tri-tip while you wait. Literally, there is something for everyone in terms of snacks. You'll probably even walk out with things you never even knew existed... or that you've ever wanted, but you will. Definitely a great place to check out if you're traveling from Houston to Austin... plus the bathrooms are top notch! read more

You can't really go wrong at Bucees. The experience is really one that is easier to just go to than to describe. I've never met an angry or grumpy employee. Their selection is unmatched for any gas station that size. You can get everything from a choice of hundreds of beverages and fountain drinks l, to beaver snacks, custom jerkies, Candy coated nuts, bbq, fudge, dippin dots, a giant variety of merchandise, and of course, clean restrooms. When you see the Beaver, you gotta stop to pee or something even if you don't feel like it. This gas station had at least 64 gas pumps with most occupied at all times. The gas is very competitively priced as well. It's crazy how many people seem to shuffle in and out and everyone is so happy. This was our first stop at the Waller location. Will definitely have to stop back through on the way back to Houston. One request though, Diet Mountain Dew please. Other locations have it. Unfortunately this one does not. It's good to know there is another option for Bucees when you travel to North Texas and you don't travel up I45 through Madisonville. read more

Yetis and "slap yo momma" sauce and a wall o' nuts and table top smokers and pecan pie in a JAR. And that's just the half I saw. I didn't even make it to the cool side. I hate all things camo but felt COMPELLED to buy a camo Buc-ee's koozie for mah Dew. Blue just din't feel right. And seriously, the CLEANEST bathrooms on the highway. You don't have to touch anything except the door knob to the stalls, and all of them have paper liners, hand sanitizer AND toilet seat sanitizer. Ain't no bug can survive at Buc-ees. No deer or squirrel either probably. As an Aggie, this used to be my favorite stop... I would get a nice soda pop (root beer with vanilla syrup) to take me down 6 with some energy. However, after graduating and coming back through during the pandemic I realized I will not be coming any longer. The place is beyond packed and no one is making sure masks are worn. Managers were literally standing in the center of the store near the restrooms watching customers walk by with NO MASKS. Like obviously people should not be traveling as much during this time, but their location make it a prime stop for PV, BLINN, A&M, etc. students, parents, and faculty. Not safe and definitely expected more from this location. Sausage sandwiches now taste like BOILED sausages anyways, so yet another reason I will just pass by on my way to the stat. read more

They also have a huge selection of gifts, souvenirs, t shirts, hats, hunting and fishing supplies, Yeti coolers, cast iron skillets and much much more. We have always loved Buc-ee's and almost always stop when traveling at one of their locations. However, my daughter just went to the Waller location about 45 minutes ago and bought Chicken Tenders. She was very disappointed and now has a stomach ache from eating them. Says they changed their recipe (McDonalds is now better in her opinion) and she found 2 hairs in them!! That's just so gross and unlike our previous experiences. I did try to call the store. The phone number says to go to the web site - no way to contact store. I did contact the web site and filed a complaint but.... I dont care how high food prices are, keep it clean!!! Keep it quality - reduce the size or something. Bigger is not always better. read more

OMG.. this place is the mecca of all gas stations, truck stops, and convenience stores combined. It's HUGE! You want some road snacks? There's a bazillion to choose from. I suggest trying their famous Beaver Nuggets. It tastes like Captain Crunch and caramel popcorn in the form of a Cheeto puff. Amazing. They also have their own brand of jerky. If you're unsure of which one to try, ask for a sample. Want fudge? They got it. Not into sweets and just want fruit? Assorted fruit and diced-fruit cups are available. Are you hungry? Have fun deciding what to eat because there's plenty. They have ready-made pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Want it fresh? They'll carve some brisket for you on the spot. They also have a deli with cold-cut meats, cheeses, and sausages to choose from. Need to use the bathroom but hate going in public places because of bad experiences? Fear no more. There's a multitude of very CLEAN and PRIVATE bathroom stalls for you to choose from. The stalls are enclosed from top to bottom for privacy so you can do your business in peace. read more

Buc-ee's is awesome. You could stop reading after that first statement because that's pretty much everything you need to know. However, as a Buc-ee's apostle I feel that I should be a bit more thorough in spreading the word. Having opened 8/26/2013, this location is one of the jewels in the Buc-ee's crown. Unlike the nearby Cypress location, the Waller Buc-ee's is one of the large stores with more than just the typical convenience items. The food options are plentiful...when I was there earlier this evening they were whipping up a whole bunch of chopped beef sandwiches for a group of hungry travelers in the Texas Round Up (turkey, brisket, sausage, pulled pork) section. There is also a good selection of other sandwiches and food items for those that just aren't feeling the call of BBQ, both made to order or pre-made for those in a hurry. In addition there's also a nice selection of country store like items such as preserves, pickled okra, salsa, olives, chow chow, and much more. I almost left with some blackberry syrup but I decided to save it for my next visit. It's a Buc-ee's so of course there's also a plentiful selection of jerky. There was even some fresh produce (off the top of my head I remember seeing onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, cantaloupe, lemons, limes, and potatoes). You can still get typical convenience store items such as candy bars, soft drinks, and some basic automotive accessories. A zillion varieties of jerky is nice but sometimes you just need a Snickers bar. Like the other large locations, this Buc-ee's has quite the selection of clothing (mostly t-shirts...we aren't talking about Dockers and Adidas track suits here), home decorations, and toys/gifts. Need a beaver stuffed animal? They got you covered! Want a leather scented candle? Back wall of the home decorations section! A Lodge cast iron dutch oven? You know it! There are plenty of gas pumps so even during heavy days when everyone is heading to A&M to catch a game you shouldn't be waiting long (if at all) for a pump. I didn't see a car wash at this one but not many Buc-ee's have them. If your vehicle needs a bath just head east on 290 a bit and visit the Cypress location. Parking should not be a problem...it almost seems that they intended to give each resident of Waller a reserved parking spot. I could go on and on about how much I like this location, but the Buc-ee's cognoscenti know what they are in for. The un-initiated, however, just need to stop by and enjoy for themselves.
