After leaving messages for over 6 weeks with NO RESPONSE AT ALL from Jacquelyn I had to email the attorney that referred me to her to get a response. She overcharged me (increased her hourly rate from $225 to $250 until I called her out). I feel she over billed the hours, I tried to reason with her but she just lied about the discussion that we had at the beginning of my case. I gave her several opportunities correct this and explained that I would be leaving reviews to keep others from getting burned by her. She even tried to intimidate me by threatening to file a slander suit against me (so you know this review is 100% honest). Very unprofessional!

She didn't know the law well enough to avoid prosecuting me, a then struggling college student and single mother of 3 young children, for a $10 NSF check. One can assume that she wanted to make an example of me. Not the drunken revelers that parade up and down main street, not the meth heads living in Vermillion, me. I was willing to pay the fees and charges when the check bounced, but I was a couple days past the deadline, and she refused. She insisted that I be booked, and fingerprinted, and then didn't know the law well enough to realize that she couldn't prove her case. I was acquitted. She stomped her feet at the judge after the judge repeatedly redirected her. I doubt that her professionalism has grown, but I hope she's sat down and studied the SD code since then. There are better lawyers, like the one from Yankon that defended me for free.
