Now he's a whopping 36 pounds, quite big for a cockapoo. Healthy and happy, sweet as can be. Pandemic procedures: They now have numbered parking spots. Call when you arrive. A tech will come and get your animal. If you want to come in with your pet, you may. They ask that you wear masks, but it's not required. Their staff is all masked and gloved. We went in because we always learn from our vet. She has a lot of good tips about dog behavior, and that personal interaction is valuable to us. Dr. Brister was great with Oliver, coming down to his level to ease his initial anxiety with her. She was gentle and caring with him. He didn't even flinch when he got his two shots. Consistently good care is the reason we love this place. All the vets are skilled, knowledgeable, and caring. The support staff work well together and communicate well with the doctors. There are places closer to home, but it's worth going a bit farther knowing we're getting quality care every time we need it.

His cat had a possible upper respiratory infection and an oozing wound on shoulder. The wound had matted fur covering the would from the drainage. The vet did not even clip the hair to look at or clean the wound. She gave the cat an antibiotic shot and said maybe that would take care of both issues. The wound is no better, still matted and oozing. I suppose they would charge another $70 plus now to do what should have been done during that visit. The second cat received a bottle of eye drops that they charged $75 for, the drops are over the counter and I could have purchased them for $30 from Chewy! Will be looking around for a new vet.

I am so appreciative of how much they care and go above and beyond for their patients. I've never found a vet so kind, personable, and trustworthy. Thank you so much!

From…read moremy initial call to ask for an estimate for annual visit/vaccinations the staff at Spencer Creek were patient and polite. They answered all my questions and pointed me to further resources when needed. They didn't push or rush me to make decisions. They didn't push my dogs when they were uncomfortable and gave them space to warm up or instructed me how to hold them or give them treats to help soothe them through a particular part they didn't like. We have a chiweenie and a pit mix. We chose to take them on seperate days and both received great care. They were quick to get us into a room so we could get settled. Both the vet tech and the veterinarian were great with the dogs. They worked well with the muzzle we have trained our pit with for high-stress outings. The staff member at the front desk was a saint. She didn't make me feel bad when I got a little emotional when my elderly dog was calm and snuggly with me after when she usually hates to be held and is ready to get out of there. The vet checked on her one more time before I left with aftercare instructions to help ease my anxiety. For the first time I have no reservations about future visits for my dogs. Thank you Spencer Creek.

She even got on the floor w/ him. She was so nice to him even after he lunged at her going in for a snap, thank god for the Bakersfield muzzle! We also have a dachshund who we brought in for a small wound between his toes. She also uncovered the start of an ear infection. She brought in a lick mat w/peanut butter. She was very gentle and didn't push, backed off when they showed signs of stress. Before we left both were wagging their tails and enjoying the lick mat! We left w/ meds for both the infections and some sedatives to help us w/ the much dreaded nail trims. So far, best, nicest Vet I've found in 7 yrs. Reasonable prices as well. The dachshund's last ear infection, we were charged nearly $700 by another vet who had a mean bedside manner and it was a traumatic not to mention expensive ordeal. Both dogs got exams, antibiotic for the paw wound, ear flush, ear drops, anti-inflammitories, as well as two sedatives, all for abt $300. I think we've found our permanent vet. And She's young, so I don't think she'll be retiring any time too soon. I feel really lucky to have found this gem of a doc for our fur babies. Oh, and she did the dachshunds anal glads for us w/ out so much as a flinch or grimace. She's got mad skills and is so nice! And God forbid we ever have to put one down, she'll make a house call so he doesn't have to die in a scary vet office. She's a keeper for sure.

We just had tonput our dear Maui down, and had the best experience (well as good as it can be in that situation) everyone we encountered was caring and empathetic. Good afternoon. I am struggling to put my thoughts into words due to the devastating experience we…read morefaced during and after Sunshine's appointment last week. With a family member sick every moment is traumatic, and unfortunately, Tuesday's difficulties were compounded by the insensitive treatment we received. Upon arrival the vet Tech's comment caught us off guard. When my husband explained that our indoor cats were overdue for vaccinations this year, she responded by saying it was "illegal" offering vaccinations services on the spot. I clarified our intentions to vaccinate in the future but not that day, which unfortunately set a negative tone for the rest of the visit and left us feeling judged. During the visit, the vet told us Sunshine's pulse was racing and said it was unusual, recommending an x-ray and ultrasound to rule out heart issues. When I explained that my baby was clearly scared, she disagreed, saying it couldn't be solely nerves causing the rapid pulse. This is quite concerning especially since she made the diagnosis without using a stethoscope. During our call today she said she did have one in the back. When pressed further she said I had one in my palm that you did not see and did it in the examination room. Which one is it??? Before each trip to the back, I requested to accompany Sunshine to keep her calm, Considering the vet had already noted her rapid heartbeat earlier. Unfortunately, I was denied and she had to endure the blood draw and treatment alone without any comfort from her family which will forever weigh heavy on my heart. I believe the underlying issue stemmed from the vet's apparent frustration with us seeking a second opinion from a family member who's also a vet tech. When I mentioned this concern, the vet in question claimed I couldn't hear her while I was on the phone. Which doesn't make since three other people in the were actively listening to her. ( My mother, husband, and son ) My main concern is that when I followed up on Friday after noon which was three days later per your instruction, to report Sunshine hadn't eaten. I asked if we could PLEASE bring her in immediately for further assistance. However, despite explaining our financial situation - having paid you $500.00 three days prior and offering to set up payment plan. You refused to help. Advising me to find another vet that took payment options or to secure credit. Not once did you offer to look at her chart and advise on the medicine you mentioned or to call it in to assist my sweet fur baby. On Saturday October 4th at 11:32 pm, Sunshine Arnold was euthanized due to her suffering. After reaching out to an emergency clinic in St. Peters, they advised us to bring her in immediately for examination, without charging any fee, they showed compassion and care for Sunshine prioritizing her well being above all else. Their actions demonstrate the kind of empathy and understanding that any fur baby owner and their loved one deserves. I am working hard not to beat myself up.. but I can't help but wonder what could have been if I had taken my sweet baby to a different facility that cared more about the patient than money. Regards, Crystal Arnold Their response: Which is no response really. No answers. No accountability. Mrs. Arnold, At Cave Springs Pet Hospital, we are truly committed to providing excellent service and high-quality medical care. We are truly sorry for the loss of Sunshine-this outcome is heartbreaking, and not what anyone wanted. We have made multiple efforts to speak with you and find resolution, including conversations with both our Practice Manager and Medical Director. After reviewing those discussions and the phone calls, it appears that all reasonable options were offered, and unfortunately, we have not been able to reach a mutual understanding. As a result, we will be discontinuing our relationship. This is private property, and we will no longer be able to allow further visits or communication at the clinic. We sincerely wish you the best and extend our condolences again for your loss. Sincerely, The Management Team Blue River Petcare, Cave Springs Pet Hospital
