It's me. I'm that person. And that's why I've shopped at Chef City for years. Chef City has been there for me when I needed a good knife; a deep-fryer; a set of mixing bowls; and an 80-quart stock pot with a basket, for boiling crawfish. But "need" has played a very small part in my relationship with the place. Just as no one needs cocaine, I don't need most of the very cool stuff that Chef City sells. Nonetheless, I'd buy a lot of it, just to have it, and the fact that I don't is less a result of rational thought than of my fear of damaging of my marriage. The store doesn't always have what I want, but the staff is always accommodating, and, adorably, when I show up with a difficult-to-meet requirement, I get the sense that they really hope they can help. "Adorable." Yep, that's what I said. And I promise you that no one has ever referred to anyone at Amazon - from Bezos to the delivery driver - that way.

Our home has had John Boos butcher block tabletops since then. Our children were literally raised on them. We made bread, cut vegetables, fruits, and served our meals on them. Our gathering place has always been the John Boos maple tabletops. As the kids got older their friends also gathered around in our kitchen. These tabletops are extraordinarily hard and perfect forever. This is the best place to purchase them as they have a direct relationship with John Boos and can answer all questions about sizing and available options. We originally purchased one 30" by 48" in 1992, when we moved we took it with us. We then needed a 36"by 72" which worked great in a bigger kitchen. Now we are redoing the kitchen and are using the John Boos classic country work table as our counters as well as for a large island. The minimalist approach to kitchens and the open airy feeling with these versatile worktables will be perfect in our adobe home. Of course we drove right out to Economy to get their help with this approach and in choosing the right and best products and got a great price too. I came in for the first time a few months ago, shopping for my business. I found the selection of equipment and food stuffs to be pretty good, the customer service was also pretty good. I needed to find some things asked an associate for help, and they found it for me right away. The prices are OK, some things are more expensive-and others are less expensive-than Costco. You just have to be knowledgeable about what you're buying. The parking lot is super easy to navigate, and get in and out of. My only complaint is that the check out system they have going because of covid is a little inconvenient. But I'm sure that will improve as we get out of the pandemic. All in all, I like this place. I always have a pleasant experience while shopping here.

We went to craigslist and found the brand-new freezer that we needed, and it was local at Tableware International in National City (not in Valencia or Riverside like many of the posts)! We left a message over the weekend, and the helpful Steve called us back on Monday. We took care of the transaction over the phone, and Steve coordinated our setup, delivery, and pick up of our old freezer.
