I purchased a diamond from an employee named Joe about a year ago. I was just surprised that I went to a jeweler who is very reputable in Fort Lauderdale and he told me that it was worth half of what I paid for it. As you might think, I was very upset. My advice to anybody is when you're purchasing an expensive diamond make sure you do your due diligence and really make sure that you're getting true value. This might be a difficult task but I would make sure you get a money back guarantee, that way you can go to other jewelers and ask him the true value and get a comparison and come up with a mean of an average. I stopped in recently to purchase an eternity ring. Alan promptly greeted me and showed me the various styles they had. They had a wide selection, but the shimmering 5 carat beauty with the round diamonds was calling my name!! I knew this particular ring was "the one" for me, as it fit like Cinderella's glass slipper! After talking price, I asked Alan to set it aside so I could comparison shop. It pained me to leave it behind, and after visiting several other jewelers, I didn't see anything close to the quality they had, so I returned and made the purchase! While we were shopping around, my friend left her wedding bands there to be cleaned, sized and polished. They did an amazing job for $150. I couldn't believe it was the same ring! Hopefully you never have any issues with your ring after you purchase it. I purchased an engagement ring with small diamonds all over the band over 4 years ago. One of the small diamonds on the band fell out before I even proposed (it was sitting in a safe). Since we've married, we have had to take the ring back to have one of the small diamonds replaced every year. The last time we took it back they said they would replace the whole band if it happened again. Well... it happened again and they wanted to charge us to replace it. They told my wife she shouldn't clap her hands. So if you're looking for a ring that can't hold up to clapping hands, Buchwald is the spot for you. I'm extremely disappointed. I'm not sure what's worse: the quality of their jewelry or the quality of their customer service. Various diamonds on my pave diamond wedding band have fallen out multiple times over a 4 year period. The first couple times it happened, they replaced the diamonds free of charge. It's happened TWICE in the last two months alone, and they now want to charge ME for THEIR poor craftsmanship. Above it all, I was disgusted with the condescending way in which I was treated by the salesman there. He tried to tell me it was my fault the diamonds are falling out. Last time I checked, wedding bands are something you wear EVERY DAY to symbolize a lifelong commitment. What would be better is if they made a ring of QUALITY that withstood the test of time and was actually worth the investment you put into it. read more

Beautiful jewelry and great selection, but They do not stand behind what they sell you. Took wedding bands and engagement ring for trade-in and when they sold them in separate occassions they said if we wnt back there, we would get at least what we paid. Well when we went back 8 years later with receipts and certificates and their own appraisal, they didn't even give us 60% on trade-in. They will not be getting my business again and they don't deserve yours either. read more

After strolling in the over 20 yrs ago when looking for an engagement ring for my wife to be I met one of the owners Mark and one of there sales reps Alan who took we under there wings and explained to me everything there was to know about diamonds so I could make an educated decision and we ended up with a beautiful 2.5 carrot ring that always impresses all her GF and it was $1000's less then anywhere else we went to for the same quality stone and they'll let you upgrade along the way with a full trade-in value on what you payed... I was in the downtown area near the seybold building and decided to go in and ask about a pair of earrings I wanted to sell and get a new set of backs that I lost. First off they are very rude. And they wanted to charge $40 for the replacement backs which was fine I was going to buy them I was there I need them. But that attitude from Randy I would never spend a penny. My day goes on and I'm in coral gables, decide to go in to Snows Jewelry. They were so nice, they did not buy my other earrings but gave a set of backs for the ones I lost as courtesy for coming in. Stay away from Buchwald Jewelers, I purchased my watch there a year ago and was told they are a AD for Tag. Two weeks ago the crown broke, I researched the problem and saw it is a known issue with the Tag Aquaracer. A week and a half ago I returned to Buchwald so they can send my watch to Tag to have it fixed, I am 1 year into a 2 year warranty. Alan calls me today and tells, "It will be 250 to have your watch fixed" I reply "$250? its covered under the factory warranty" He then lies and tries tell me "Its not under warranty, Tags warranty is only 1 year", until I tell him no, Im looking at the TAG warranty its 2 years. He then puts me on hold and tries to barter with me, and says "Ok my boss says he will knock the repair down $30 bucks" Why would I pay $220 dollars for a repair that's a known issue and covered under the factory warranty. He responds "Im not a AD I never told you I am an AD I cant help you." I felt disgusted, I asked if he can at least point me in the right direction to get my watch fixed by Tag? He says I will call you back. He calls me back 10 minutes later, doesn't point me in the right direction nor tries to help me, he responds "Ok we will fix it at $170". Buchwalds doesn't get it, if you want to buy jewelry from a business that operates like a used car dealership, go ahead!! I just want my watched fixed. You lied to me and told me your an AD when I bought it, Your Not. You Lied to me and told me the warranty is over, Its Not. The worst part, I ask can you at least point me in the right direction, And You Don't. You just try to sell me a repair. At Buchwalds you will get customer service when you first purchase, but if you have an issue, stay away!! read more

Bought a an amazing watch and had my husband's grandmother's engagement ring redesined I dealt with Marc and have nothing but good things to say. In Miami, where shady business men abound, I feel comfortable doing business here with just a handshake. The owners are great, friendly and reliable and randy and Marc the employees there are easy to deal with and able to satisfy my high-maintenance personality. If I was looking for either a classical diamond piece or an unusual gem piece this would be the first place I would go. The only downside is that the building is in downtown Miami which they solve with valet parking. I wouldn't recommend staying in here more than an hour or two because you might spend your while paycheck. :) And my very picky design oriented architecture husband says their pieces are very well designed and stunning. After 4 months of wear, the diamonds by the yard necklace my husband purchased for me began turning yellow and a diamond fell out. I took it back to be repaired & was told the change from white gold to yellow gold was " normal" and they would fix it for me. They did not tell me there would be a charge for this, and I expected it was under warranty after such a short period of time. I had never experienced any of my white gold jewelry turning yellow - not dirty, yellow- but I didn't fight about it since they offered to make it "good as new". When I picked it up they gave me a bill for $90. When I said I understood it to be no charge, I was passed to 3 different people who mumbled they didn't know until some guy with an attitude took over & said the diamond would be free but the cleaning would be $80. Really, $10 for the diamond? Then I inquired whether it made a difference that my husband was a long-time customer. He looked up the past purchases and sniffed, "only a Daytona, and that was in 03". I said a Rolex is no big deal, ok. How about recently? He continued looking and in the same rude manner replied, " what, the tennis bracelet?" like that and any other purchases just didn't matter. I paid the bill but will never return to that lack of customer service and disrespectful attitude, especially when Seybold has numerous other merchants that would be delighted to sell us another little insignificant Rolex. read more
