Don't expect it to be large, it is only one in room, but they expect to have local artwork on the walls soon and might possibly consider expansion at some time in the future. For a little shop though it has some charming items and yes, it was hard for me to get out of the shop without buying something for myself. (I succumbed!) One of my favorite things about this shop is they are selling items made by local artisans. I love not only shopping local but supporting local people. Quilted items, maple syrup, jewelry etc. There is one issue, however, and that is parking. It is very limited but if you find the parking lot full then take advantage of on-street parking. Just don't park in spaces intended for nearby businesses. Not cool.

She could not have been more kind and warm; I'm so sad I didn't get her and the owners' names (but her daughter also owns the jewelry store across the street!!). Olive & Slate is a must-shop. Instantly the scent of one of their candles hits your senses and you're drawn in. They sell these awesome robot pieces made of metal and tin and are painted and out together by locals. They also sell flour towels with amazing quips on them (see pics below - they're only $7!!), and Mud Pie products that you canNOT love without. You gotta go visit. BRING YOUR MONEY! Buyer's remorse is NOT a factor here!

There were even lovely, hand crafted earrings made from old Ball jars. Local Amish popcorn and other Indiana goodies filled shelves. Garden decor and narwhal themed toys were featured. A clerk welcomed us as we entered and offered assistance. Supposedly they sell sandwiches, but I didn't see a counter for them. I did see a freezer with ice cream bars. If you can get past that, you will enjoy the excellent ice cream and family-friendly facility. A lot of the gift store items are potty humor related but if you have the slightest sense of humor you'll be able to enjoy yourself. There are lots of fun attractions like putting your hand in the aliens mouth, Putt-Putt golf, and other fun stuff. They have a newsletter and many different types of fudge. The potty humor for the fudge amps up to 5th or 6th grade humor. If you survived Elementary School, you should be able to handle this. Visit their website to see the level of humor expected. Again, the ice cream was excellent and served by a staff of teens. The facility was clean and I like the use of graffitied vintage chairs and furniture in the ice cream eatery. Keep an open mind when you visit and remember that off color jokes don't injure or change the taste of really good ice cream!

Unfortunately, the fudge counter barely made it off the launchpad. When I approached, I encountered a very self-important "fudge technician" who apparently didn't give a fudge. He offered no assistance, announced that he needed to go somewhere else in the building "to work on something," and, while walking away, asked someone else to help me. After all that buildup, I was surprised to find only about eight varieties of fudge. At $20 per pound, you'd better hope one of those limited choices sends you over the moon--because the counter service certainly won't.
