I couldn't eat any of mine We told the waitress and showed her the food and she agreed it was bad but the waitress could have cared a less . Great dive bar. Definitely not a place to go for a fancy dinner haha but a great place to go get some food and drinks! It also has a great area to have fun in the back with some games and stuff. The food is actually really good and the prices for drinks are reasonable. Always an interesting crowd at buckets I have the best conversations there! The service is great, especially the bartenders they are very nice. I would say the only thing is that there isn't a grand entrance to this bar it's kind of off the side of the street but I like it that way! It's a hidden treasure. read more

This is your friendly neighborhood dive bar. I used to frequent this place more often than I can really count. The best part about Buckets? It's open all the time. My friend and I have a habit of grabbing a beer there each and every major holiday. They'll be open, and there will be at least one regular at the bar. As the last reviewer stated - awesome wings. Last I remember, wing night was on Monday. Tuesdays? I believe that was $2 food day but I could be wrong. What's even better than the wings? The buffalo chicken cheesesteaks. They must be had with American cheese, extra buffalo sauce on the side and a side of blue cheese. The cons: they do not accept credit cards. There's a Wachovia Bank across the street & an ATM inside. Also, there's that notorious "Buckets Smell" that my friends and I have come to know very well. They allow smoking and also, when the grill is on - you'll surely smell of smoke and fried food. read more

This place might get two stars if not for the fact that the bartenders decide how much to charge you. The first time i went there the bartender charged about 14$ for a double vodka tonic and two twisted teas. As the night progressed we were paying almost 20$ for 3 twisted teas. Today around 6pm a friend and i decided to go there n got 2 6 packs of twisted tea for 25$. When i went there at 12am the same bartender tried to charge me 30$ for two 6 packs of twisted tea. If you don't mind your food coming out very late and partially wrong, stop by if your in the area. Nothing to go out of your way for. Some cheap beers. Standard, run of the mill mozzarella sticks. Cheesesteak had ok insides, with subpar bread. Ordered spicy bbq wings, got buffalo wings instead. When I mentioned it to the bar keep she took them back and just had the spicy bbq sauce thrown on top. This left them tasting a bit odd. She may have at least wanted to ask if that was ok with me as opposed to trying to cover them up. MOs of the time the bartender was on her phone and wouldn't pay attention when trying to order more. Was looking for a place to watch the Phils/Reds game, and since the Drake was overflowing I decided it was time to give Buckets a try. Chill atmosphere, lots of TVs, good mix of folks, and cheap artery-clogging grub. And yet, the defining feature of the place -- the one thing that came to represent our entire visit -- was that it is a smoking bar. I figured that meant that some people might smoke, but no, that means that ALL the people WILL DEFINITELY smoke. A lot. Too much for me. This joint was a chimney. I thought about giving it two stars, but that seems unfair, because it is what it is. Just because it ain't my cup of tea doesn't mean I should give it a poor rating. For other people, this place will certainly be a gem. If you want to smoke in a bar, this place should probably get 4 or 5 stars, because everything else about the place is pretty cool, and there probably aren't many other places out there that still let you light up. read more

What you see is what you get: a good ol' fashioned dive. Beer is cheap, food is greasy and filling, and smoking is common. There is no website, but I've called in to check on the hours in the past. For four people, we were able to get 40 great wings and two pitchers of Yuengling for under $25. That's a steal compared to the Drake Tavern around the corner! Great place for an inexpensive, tasty meal; this is a great wing place and the cheesesteaks are delicious, too. The selection of beers on tap will please most palates, and as far as I'm concerned, the placement of the many TVs makes it a great place to watch your favorite Teams. You won't be craning your neck to catch a play, and you'll be able to fool your wife/girlfriend into believing that you're really paying attention to her. The owners would probably do well, though, to ban the smoking, because the place could use a couple of SMOKEATERS over the Bar area. It's a mixed crowd tending to younger, 21-35, with the odd more mature person present, as well. It's hard to believe that the kids haven't gotten the message that smoking kills themselves and others. This place really wows me on the beer prices. It is a neighborhood hole in the wall place, and they only accept cash. Beers are under 2 dollars, liqours are 4 dollars I think, and they even have happy hours during the week days. The place is not fancy at all, with a semi open kitchen, a dart board, a game machine, and a juke box. Tvs are around the bar, and it is a SMOKING bar!! Smokers heaven for sure. In one word...Neighborhood bar! The food is good and the beer and liquor prices are probably the best in a 10-mile radius. If you want cheap booze in a place I would call slightly-nicer-than-a-dive bar (that's actually a compliment). In fact, the jukebox music is all over the place just like the clientele. Buckets is the best neighborhood bar I've found in the Jenkintown area. The food's excellent, the staff and patrons are friendly, and the game day drink specials are pretty great. My only complaints are that they only take cash and that your hair will definitely reek of cigarette smoke for days after you leave the bar. But the bartenders are good about cranking up the ceiling fans and making it breathable for non-smokers like myself. The wings and cheesesteak are worth smelling like a chimney, trust me. read more

This is a great place to go and watch Philly games at. The food is great for the price; the muck and muck burger is my favorite. The customers and the staff are real friendly and knowledgeable about sports. I've been to buckets many times and never had a problem. Food here( or grease in a basket ) is ridiculously bad. If you go during the day, the cheap owner has the bartender cooking because the guy hired to do that comes in at 5 I believe. With her cooking, you can go in, sit at the bar, and she MAY come back to the bar over to wait on you, but when she's done cooking. Can range btw 5-7 minutes even though she knows you came in. A Dark, dank, depressing interior inside when it's a nice day outdoors. They air the local and national news on WPVI 6 btw 4-7pm for the middle aged and old farts who need to know the weather every 15 min. No Directv. Lowsy Comcast which is the worst of the worst. Have cash avail or prepare yourself for a steep ATM fee. Owner is too cheap to accept debit cards because the credit card companies charge a fee, and why would they pay a fee when they can make more $$ for their own pocket, right? Bathroom is dirty and a broom closet, usually with no heat in the winter months. Heat costs $$ too, although they will run ceiling fans on a 20 degree January day. Biggest surprise? Very few Eagles memorabilia on the walls. Not now with a SB win, not even years back. All I see is a big logo schedule they get from the beer distributor. Good place if you like to smoke. Decided to stop at Buckets for a beer for old times sake. Buckets has always been Jenkintowns dive bar but it has elevated to a new dive level. The people there are now divey not just the bar itself. This is a great dive bar. My husband and I went for wings after reading reviews here, and they didn't disappoint! They were big and meaty, plus they were on the $3 menu on Tuesday. We each got wings and we split a pitcher of beer, and the total came in well under $20. I'd like to try some of their other food- standard bar fare, all reasonably priced.
