We like to hit up Towey's every once in awhile. It's nice for a neighborhood bar. We get sick of Connelly's sometimes because of the smoke. You can smoke in Towey's, but you really can't smell it. As a non-smoker, this is always nice! I can actually enjoy a drink while playing Photo Hunt without gagging on smoke. I didn't realize the grill at first, but as I mentioned to the group that I was with, the bartender offered to make us some food. The basket of fries was $2, and they were awesome! We had chicken fingers, too, and they were good. I was surprised. Bartenders always seem to be nice. Ok crowd. Awesome ring on a string game. Just keep the weird men away from you! read more

Good food and kind staff. I used to go here once and a while before the pandemic but both times I've gone there since I've been the only non-staff person in the building wearing a mask. It's upsetting this isn't enforced considering a lot of their patrons are older people. (People aren't just not wearing masks when they're eating, they just are not wearing masks period the whole time from the moment they come in) I've even seen staff pull down their masks to speak to each other. Went in to this bar last night to have a drink. Sat down ordered a beer and a shot and played a song on the jukebox That's when shit started going bad. There was a young guy there that was tattooed up bartending he started asking everyone who played the song so I responded I did. He told me, that was the last song that was going to play Because he couldn't hear the game. First of all I don't go to a bar to watch TV. I'm pretty sure the owner wouldn't be pleased at him telling his customers Not to put money in the jukebox because he can't listen to a game. I'm a Philly guy, big Philly sport fan and I don't give a fuck about the playoffs if our Philly teams aren't involved. Fuck Cleveland and fuck the Golden State Warriors. This guy doesn't know the first thing about being a good bartender. It was trivia Wednesday and even the trivia girl had to talk over the TV because this asshole didn't want to turn it off. Great pub! Clean, friendly and reasonable prices! We were there last night for open mic night. Pub grub menu. I had Buffalo chicken cheese steak wrap , my wife had spicy beef steak wrap. Both excellent! We shared crab balls with horseradish, great app! The entertainment was terrific, with two comedians and four singers/musicians. Went to this place twice since I have been in town (can walk there from my apartment), once around 4pm and once at night. I had a good time both visits. The food/drinks were good and resonably priced. The place is very clean and the food was prepared in front of us on a cooking area behind the bar. When we came for a night out there was a cover band playing which I am ususally not a huge fan of but they weren't terribly loud and were playing tastefully. They only had the fried menu by the time we got there which I was a little dissapointed about (my bad for not eating dinner though) it was around 10. I was still able to get mozz sticks and fries and what not. The bartender was very nice even after I spilled a drink everywhere (which I wasn't charged for). Would definitely reccomend! read more

Awsome place to hang! They have great food at lunchtime and the drinks are good anytime. All the staff members are fun and personable making this tavern's atmospher that much better. I had to get my car inspected and so, had some time to kill and was suggested to Toweys. Upon first walking in, I thought I had joined the Women Haters All Boys Club - there was not one single female soul to be found in the joint. I used the ladies room (and they even had one!) and had a seat at the bar. I was greeted warmly by a young man who asked what I would like to drink and as he took my drink order and offered a suggestion he happily offered a food option. This seems to be a watering hole for many of the regulars and it was nice to sit back and take in the clientele. I was introduced to the owner, a really nice guy who I had pleasantries exchanged about some of the local brews in the area and what he currently had on tap. The chicken cheese steak was fresh and delicious, the fries were fresh and piping hot and the beer cold and delicious. They have karaoke every Friday and trivia on other days. It is a great little spot and I will definitely be back - if you are in the area, tell 'em Angela sent you! read more

Towey's is a great local bar. The bar tenders are friendly and attentive. Good selection of beers and always a game on the many TVs.

Went in once and sat at the nearly-empty bar for almost 10 minutes while the bartender chatted with one of his buddies. We left without ever being served. Went in on a Sunday around 8 hoping to watch some football and was presently informed by the bartender "we're closing." Returned a week later to watch the Eagles/Cowboys game. They were open. There were 3 or 4 regulars at the bar, 2 of whom decided to have a smoke. They stood out back with the door open so we could enjoy their cigarettes with them. I went over and politely closed the door; they reopened it so we could get the full effect of their habit. Finished our beers and left. I've been in there a couple of times before and the place is nice enough. It's a step above dive bar. The food is served on paper plates. Hit or miss at best. Needs proper management. read more
