Plus Dr. Lori is great to chat with so it makes it go fast :) Now they have actually moved to a beautiful new location on State Street in Newtown, makes for an even better experience! Next I moved on to trying botox injections with Dr. Lori and I am absolutely obsessed. I had wrinkles on my forehead that absolutely drove me crazy. Dr. Lori was great about giving me enough to smooth out the creases and look great without overdoing it and keeping it natural looking. I will definitely be getting these again once they wear off. The pricing here is great too! The newest thing that I have tried at Refresh Wellness is their 12 week weight loss program with Shawn. I was told that on average, participants lose 25 lbs -which to be honest when I first heard it all I could think of was - bullshit. Howeverrrr, I'm only 2 weeks in but I'm inclined to believe it's the real deal! Shawn outlines what you should be eating and how you can change your lifestyle to lose weight and keep it off. I have to admit that I have tried every diet under the sun in the past two years as well as all kinds of crazy exercise regimens that have had zero impact on my weight loss efforts. I followed Shawn's directions and as promised, the weight has been melting off. Thus far I have lost 8 lbs total (4 lbs per week!) and I have been so crazy at work and traveling across the country every week for work that I haven't had time to workout. This diet is the easiest thing I've ever done and the weight is coming off. I urge anyone who is having a hard time losing weight to try this - it has honestly made such a difference to me and I am so grateful to Shawn and Lori! :)

The results of the laser hair removal were noticeable after just the first treatment! I could not believe how much less I needed to shave. I wish I did this when I was 18! The staff also make sure to fully explain the treatments and continuously check to ensure a customer is not uncomfortable (the treatments can be a bit painful- but so so so worth it!)

But unfortunately, I've learned something that has completely changed my view on the company. It turns out they've been employing the infamous TikTok personality "Celebritea Blinds," aka Amanda T.P. as their marketing director. This is the woman who has been spreading harmful and offensive rumors about people of color for years, especially targeting Nicki Minaj and other POC for her own monetary gain. I can't, in good conscience, support a business that gives this kind of behavior a platform. So, while I've enjoyed my treatments here, I'll be taking my business elsewhere based on the morals of RMA. It's a shame because I was genuinely happy with my results, but I just can't ignore the bigger picture, and wrong is wrong. If you're considering this place, definitely do your research, because actions like these matter. Hopefully RMA takes this situation seriously.

I was able to rearrange my busy schedule and willing to drive an hour for my 6:15pm Tuesday appointment. Unfortunately that was not the case. Yesterday I received a phone call 2 hours before my appointment and was asked to come in earlier since "the aesthetician's clients cancelled due to Covid, and she doesn't really want to stay until 6:15pm." I was in utter disbelief by that statement! If my appointment is at 6:15, I expect to be treated at that time, but I guess it was more important for the aesthetician to leave early. The woman who performed my facial, who I was told is the owner named Kim, made the entire process feel unpleasant. It honestly felt as though she didn't enjoy what she does or interacting with people, which made the facial uncomfortable. Her hands were rude, and her touches were harsh and unprofessional--nasty, really. In my opinion, she should not be offering any cosmetology or esthetician services. I've had facials at other locations, but I didn't even know an experience could be this bad. The place itself also felt dirty, which only added to the negative impression. Additionally, the robe they gave me to wear looked old and well-used, and I wasn't sure if it had been washed between clients. The cloths they used to remove creams were rough on my face--like old, worn towels. It was an overall very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. There are plenty of other options nearby that offer much better services. Posh is definitely one to avoid. A nasty experience all around.
