My wife and I booked with Julien, along with three of our four children, and we left from our experience with so much more than just reflecting on the size, abundance, or frequency of fish caught. We left with so much more than we ever expected and that was peace, relaxation, fun, knowledge, and a reassurance of kind, hardworking, and welcoming people in this world, because of Julien. Not only is Julien one of the most sincere, patient, and positive people we have been fortunate enough to meet in this amazing community, he is extremely knowledgeable in his craft and he taught our children so many important techniques and practices for fishing in the area and for fishing in general. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we parted to our vehicle, we were welcomed with kindness and taught the ins and outs by Julien. As we have fished in many different areas, in differing states, and for many differing types of fish, I can say that this was one of my favorite fishing experiences to date. Julien embraced and taught our children as we would, and he allowed them to experience and be involved in every step of the process, and so much more in between. It is rare to find someone who enjoys teaching children their knowledge and we are very appreciative of everything he did while we were with him. I cannot say enough great things about Julien and Go Fish Durango. We caught plenty of fish during this time, and that allowed our children to learn something new that they had been eager to learn. We could have never caught a single fish and it would have been a great experience, regardless. You will not be disappointed with your trip, and we will be booking with Julien again and again. If it's fishing in the summer or ice fishing in the winter, we cannot wait to book another trip with Julien and all that Go Fish Durango has to offer. Don't miss out on your chance to have this experience with someone who truly loves doing what they do, and sharing it with those who are open to learning! I rarely write reviews, but great people deserve recognition, and Julien is an amazing person. I am grateful to have booked this trip with him.

We caught so many fish, we honestly lost count. Julien taught my son so much about fishing, and even let us hang out at the beach and swim after our fishing trip was over. We caught several rainbow trout and salmon and cooked them up for dinner that same evening. Such a great time!!

My uncle took me here for 2 days and it was really awesome. This place has a huge lake where you can fish, hang out, eat and ride boats and water crafts. They do have plenty of fish and this place is usually not crowded at all. We slept in one of the pool houses which was really cool overall. It comes with a tv, fridge, freezer, bedroom, bathroom with shower, and seating area. The only problem I had with it was the bathroom stench, it was really bad, I had to get out as soon as possible because the smell was just so bad, and I kept banging my head on the tiny upstairs bed where I slept. The cafe there was average, they have burgers, pasta, fish and chips and other good meals just to fill you up for the day. I also really liked the gift shop/convenience store they had. It had everything I needed to get me through both days for sure. Some things are a little expensive but I would say it's worth it. The staff was incredible, really nice and helpful except for two ladies that helped us with our room, they did not feel like they knew much about certain questions and were always relying on other staff, but overall really good. They also have yachts and other large boats that are about $1,000 a day which is a bit over the budget in my opinion but still really nice, especially for large families. I will definitely come back to this awesome place that I never knew was even in New Mexico, hopefully this place gets more recognition. Thank you, Navajo Lake Marina...

You have to wait until all the pontoons are out or in and refueled before you can refuel. If you're not dumping money into their rental program you are not their priority. It's 2026 why do I need to wait for a teenager to "turn on" the pump, for me to refuel a boat myself, then walk into the office to pay them? Absolutly trash system.

What I liked most is that we got right to fishing and Spencer gave me a lot of good options. I chose to go with small rivers so I could see more of the country. Every spot we went Piedras/Florida rivers had great fishing. I hooked a few Kokanee salmon, a few rainbows couple cutthroat trout and brook trout. Fishing was awesome, great staff and lots of water to choose from depending on the season. I want to come back in the winter and get on the San Juan.

I went and spent the morning catching fish all morning. The problem was, they were all between 4-6". I'm not suggesting that some were small, I am saying every single fish was that size. To be honest, I did not know that anyone fished for fish that small on purpose. Why would you?? My guide was incredibly friendly and very knowledgable so I am a little surprised about the outing. I know a half-day trip limits locations but this was incredibly disappointing. It was a lot of money for the outing and to say I have buyer's remorse would be an understatement. So if you book and they tell you they want to take you out to the La Plata River, please insist on a different location.

My wife had heard that Mild to Wild rafting took great care of their clients. Last year at this time, we were wading up the San Miguel river / stream and fly fishing. Shallow water, tranquil pools and great fishing made it a different weekend. When we booked this, I thought it must be a mistake as this stream did not seem strong enough for rafting and narrow in width. What a difference a year makes. The river was full, fierce with heavy water and good class 3 rapids for the next 1 1/2 hour. Big rocks, fast water, big snags and quick currents were the norm today. One had better stay in the boat, as it would troublesome swimming in 42 degree water. Alyssia, our guide was fabulous and serious about following her instructions. She navigated the rocks, snags and fast water. She maneuvered our boat well. For the next 1 1/2 hours, we had 3-4 foot swells and worked the entire trip. We have rafted many rivers and this was one of our shorter trips but a 5/5 on adventure. For a great adventure, beautiful scenery and a gorgeous day, raft with Mild to Wild. You will have a fun filled and adventurous memory for life.
