Went later on a Sunday for a late lunch. The interior is unassuming. Nothing too special. When we…read morewere seated, things went pretty smooth. Orders were taken and turnaround was pretty quick. Food was made to order. The prices for food seemed reasonable and serving sizes were equal to what you paid for, so it was a good value.

If you're wondering why we only left a $5 tip on a $80 bill, I'll tell you…read more 1. There were only a few dinners when we walked into the establishment that was not very busy by any means. It took way too long to get to our table. But we could hear all the chatter in the kitchen that seemed a little more than business. 2. After we got our food we never got another visit until we were basically done. We had two empty dinks for the entire time we had our food. This is a pet peeve of mine. Not to mention the drinks tasted weird like well water. 3. The food was definitely not worth what we paid for it. We avoided fast food and in reality got fast food. The portion of meat on the sandwich I got was a child's portion. I've had this same sandwich a few years back, and it was overflowing with meat I basically just paid for a pita and extra sauce. The pasta dish was good but it's hard to screw up pasta. 3. We get the bill to pay and at the front counter there's a sign that says if you're using a card no matter what card there will be a 3.5% charge. I could be wrong on that percentage but it was 3% for sure. This is BS, almost all business is done with either credit cards or debit cards and it has been for years, put it in the price of your menu if you're going to do that. It is ridiculous to me that you have a sign at your front counter, announcing that you're gonna charge me to use my credit card, which is essentially like writing a check, It's pretty much just cash these days though. So, that gets added into the tip as far as I'm concerned. So let your servers know this. We have been here a handful of times in seven years and I don't know why we keep going back because it has never really been an experience that I've been excited to share. I could go on and on and on. But I'll leave it at that.

My experience this time around was a little bit more of a let down hence why I had to take one star off. When I went few months ago, I had burnt coffee which I chalked it up as a one time error. But it happened again with this visit, so that told me they don't really pay much attention to their coffee yet they have a whole menu dedicated to coffee. I also made a reservation on a Sunday knowing it fills up quick and that it might be hard to get a table, however, it was an hour and half before they close which means they tend to slow down around that time. Also, when making a reservation, it'll ask you if you want bar, dining area or patio. I chose dining area. Yet they called me an half hour before to see if I wanted to sit at the bar, which I told them twice in person I do not want to, and as a result the hostess gave me the annoyed/judgmental look down when I wasn't looking. As someone who has owned a family restaurant business for 30 years, that's a big no-no in terms of customer service. It's just rude and unnecessary. Also, they kind of really try to get customers out by 2, which is when they close. By standard at most restaurants, they need an extra hour after closing for customers to take their time with their meals rather than rushing through it, especially if you will sit them 20 minutes before closing time. I felt rushed, and I don't like that feeling at a place I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Would I come back here? Absolutely yes because their food is really the best for brunch in the area and it's cleaner. It just shouldn't be an excuse with certain things like what I mentioned above. P.S. if chicken and waffles happens to be one of the specials, get it. It's by far the best dish I've ever tried there and also my top 3 chicken & waffles that I've tried anywhere. SO GOOD!
