After our sumptuous meal. My friend at his 60th birthday.

I was able to give a great friend oysters for the first time. He was flabbergasted by the freshness and where they came from cudos. My second time and didn't fail to represent. Great restaurant !.. the staff were genius! How such young poeple can feed wave after wave with no drama , was nifty to watch. Bar seats get the show. Meet interesting attendants, enjoy the beautiful seasonal food.

We had a good first dinner at Field & Fire, and it definitely won us over. Tucked away in a strip of shops, the restaurant has a sleek, modern vibe. The space is long and narrow, with bar seating that gives you a front-row view of the kitchen, and bench seating lining the wall--good for a relaxed yet upscale evening. We kicked things off with drinks. I went for the Field Classic, essentially a traditional (not Wisconsin) Old Fashioned made with Wisconsin Brandy instead of whiskey. It was smooth. My fiancée opted for a Whiskey Old Fashioned Sour, which is always a solid choice and didn't disappoint. For appetizers, we tried the Muhammara, a first for both of us--and it was a excellent. The dish offered a blend of sweet and spicy flavors with a texture similar to hummus. Just a heads-up: if you're sensitive to spice, it might catch you off guard, but we loved it. Moving on to entrées, I ordered the NY Strip, and my fiancée had the Mary Pizza. While my steak leaned more toward medium rare than the medium I requested, it was still packed with flavor and cooked beautifully. The pizza was equally impressive--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. We wrapped up the evening with another round of drinks instead of dessert, and the service throughout was top-notch. If you're looking for a refined dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere--especially for a date night--check Field & Fire out.

Lovely place - Looking for an upscale option while visiting Appleton. this cozy spot is just a few minutes away by car from downtown Appleton. Food absolutely delicious, service very kind, attentive, and happy to make suggestions. (Pro tip - this place specializes in fresh as available ingredients so the menu will likely constantly change. Don't get too attached to pictures. Just focus on whatever loveliness is available at the time you visit.)

Remember, dining can be an experience; it isn't always about going away full. With that in mind, you'll enjoy the ambiance, service and food quality if you visit this unique restaurant. It isn't large and doesn't accept reservations. If waiting is a buzz kill for you, find another place. The exterior is 100% strip mall, inside you'll find a much more sophisticated dining area. We had a great server. She did a fantastic job explaining some finer points of both the drink and food menus. No issues with service. Drinks were great. Get something off their menu and you will definitely enjoy their finely crafted mixology skills. The menu has a little bit of something for everyone. Our group shared Gnudi and a Bailey pizza. Each were very good. For our main meals, there was a monkfish order, pork chop order and two tenderloin orders. The monkfish was highly praised as were the tenderloin orders. While I enjoyed my pork chop meal, I definitely would have liked a larger chop and more of the risotto for the price. The meal was complete with a brownie. It was a nice touch to a good meal. Now the nuts and bolts. I'd like to give 4.5 stars. Yelp doesn't trust accurate reviews and makes me choose between heaping on too much or hurting the restaurant. On the basis of service, drinks and taste of food, I opt to be generous. Would I go back? Most likely for a special occasion, but not on a regular basis. I will add it is great for the area to have a restaurant like this available.

Nothing but love and care went into the food I ate. Absolutely fantastic attention to the chefs tonight. I got well worth the money and I am sad the plate is already empty. Now the biggest question.... Do I have room for that Creme brûlée

Odd location in a strip mall. Wonderfully decorated! Inventive and creative menu! Best burger I've had in awhile. The cauliflower was one of the strangest things I've tried but it was amazing (over priced for what it is but I would get it again!).

When you have to stop yourself from going back to a restaurant less than 24 hours after you leave, you know it's amazing. I don't know where to start with @fieldandfirekitchen -- the menu is immaculate, vibes are on point, it has an open kitchen so you can watch your food being made and the pizzas being fired. APPETIZERS We got the duck meatballs, which my stepdad said he could eat every day; shrimp on corn tortilla- the shrimp was so fresh. PASTA The Agnolloti stuffed with ricotta was perfectly al dente and packed with creamy flavor. WOOD-FIRED PIZZA The Levy--a sausage, ricotta, onion, and bell pepper combo-- was delicious (so glad I have leftovers!). Love that they a) asked if I wanted parmesan cheese with my pizza and b) left an entire plate of freshly grated parm at the table (I always feel bad when the server is grating it at the table and I want the max ) MAINS I've never seen a better presentation of Trout, and the Wagyu Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life, topped with caramelized onion, cheddar, and umami aioli. DRINKS They're known for their classic Old Fashioned as well as their Wisconsin Old Fashioned. With our dessert we got the White Russian, which my mom said would make Wisconsin winters bearable if you could drink one of those every day I love the presentation of their drinks, and they have a great selection of wine too. DESSERT We tried their pot de creme, pear dessert, and carrot cake. Presentation is huge at @fieldandfirekitchen and the carrot cake was almost too pretty to eat. (Luckily I have plenty experience with eating pretty things ). While all were fantastic, the carrot cake was incredible -- anyone who can make carrot cake taste the same or better than a chocolate dessert deserves an award in my book TLDR: @fieldandfirekitchen is amazing and THE spot for good eats in the area. : @foodiepicture Insta

Atmosphere: Small little place, about 10 tables and 10 seats at the bar. It's located in a strip mall next to wine shop. Hostess at the front to seat you when you walk in. They do not take reservations so it'll be hit or miss on if you get a table or not. I love that you can see into the kitchen and watch the staff work. It was really loud in here so it was hard to hold a conversation. Service: Friendly service but they were a bit understaffed. They had two bartenders on a friday night that were definitely in overdrive. They had one hostess/person who cleared down tables. And one waitress. It took awhile to get drinks but it wasn't a big deal. Food: The carpaccio appetizer was tender and the flavors were well balanced. First time ever receiving carpaccio that didn't come with bread/crostini so if you're ordering this dish I hope you really love plain meat (we do)! The burger ordered by the other person I dined with they really enjoyed, good meat to bun ratio and very tender. The potatoes served with it were a bit under seasoned and underwhelming. I ordered the vinny pizza, definitely something I would not reorder. The fennel on top was in such large chunks it fell off when trying to pick up the slice and they weren't evenly cooked. The clams were overcooked. The sauce didn't have much flavor, and the dough was so underdone in the middle (or soggy from the sauce?) you couldn't eat it like you normally would eat a piece of pizza. I ended up rolling the pizza slices into a cannoli shape to try and get the toppings to stay on, but there is so much flour on the underside of the dough that's all you could taste. The table next to me didn't eat much of that pizza either. Drinks: It was a very small wine pour on my first glass, and my second glass wasn't any bigger. I'd skip getting wine here next time. We're going to come back and try different food items since the menu changes frequently. It was nice having a restaurant reasonably close by that used diverse ingredients.

Great atmosphere, excellent food! Had the Joe pizza and brings you back to younger days eating a sloppy Joe the flavors are spot on! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Best food, service and vibe I've had in a very, very long time!! Definitely will be returning.

It feels like…read morethis place wants to be upscale, but they failed on many levels, most notably the attitude of the front end staff. I could overlook or even forgive a single person who might be having a bad day, but we had negative experiences with 3 individuals. I went for dinner on a Tuesday evening with a small group of friends. We had a reservation for a table indoors, but were still considering the rooftop seating. When the first member of our group arrived, an employee was standing at the hostess stand but walked away without greeting her. It was not busy. Nobody else was waiting. She did not leave to go seat another party. She just walked away. This was the first moment of awkwardness. The menus: Before arriving, some of our group had looked at the regular menu and others had looked at the rooftop menu online. There was some confusion about why we couldn't order an item from the rooftop menu. (As I recall, the item in question was a flatbread available on the lunch menu for the regular dining room, but not on the dinner menu.) We were told that we would need to move to the rooftop if we wanted that item. Everything about the server's posture, facial expression including a visible eye roll, and even a loud sigh was very offputting from the start. We considered leaving before we even ordered our food, and in hindsight that may have been a better decision. Ultimately, we decided to stay and dine indoors, on the lower level at a table near a window looking onto the sidewalk. This may have been another mistake. It was very warm and stuffy. Even though there were only two other groups of people inside, it was so loud I could hardly hear people talking at my own table. I ordered the Agave Lime Chicken. It was good but not great. Two members of our party ordered flatbreads; two others ordered chicken tenders. This was where our evening really took a turn. On one of the flat boards used to serve the flatbread, there was a very small dead bug. It was a light gray-green color and so small that we weren't sure at first if it was a bug or a piece of some herb. We zoomed in on a phone camera and confirmed that it was indeed a dead bug. The member of our party who ordered this item had eaten one piece of her flatbread and was no longer interested in eating the rest. She did not want a box. She just wanted it taken away. The reaction of the staff was shocking. After clearing the board, one member of the staff returned and remarked that they were "still trying to find that bug." My jaw dropped at her tone - it was incredibly unprofessional. Thankfully, we had a picture. Another member of the staff came back to look at the photo as well, claiming that they could find no bug. They removed the meal from our bill, which is all I would really expect. I would still have considered returning another time if it had not been for the attitude and attempted gaslighting.
