I came for a group trail run through the 250-acre Onion Creek Greenbelt. The park was clean and in great shape. There is a gravel loop around the park that is about 800 m. However, the draw for me was the nature trails in the park that are not too technical but offer a safe introduction to trail running. The trail was about 4 miles long and is fairly flat with a few steep areas. It was a great place to explore the trails whether hiking or running and connect with nature.

Come to find out, the women employees get paid less than the male employees. The owner consistently disrespects his employees by yelling at them. I've seen employees cry because of the way he treats them. My experience: Many dog parents throw birthday celebrations for their pet. We're all responsible and we clean up after ourselves. They're peaceful celebrations. I had the decency to ask for permission to throw my dog a birthday party. They told me they were going to charge me a $500 fee even though I wasn't asking for anything beyond permission. I purchased gifts to give out for all attendees. my generosity was met with malice. Mid-celebration the owner texted me a long, unfriendly message telling me to FaceTime them. My membership was then suspended, but I guess they decided to revoke it without communication. They continued to charge me for the membership, even though I no longer had access. They chose to lose my business of over one year, which amounts to almost $500, over a dog's birthday party, generous of all guests. Choose wisely where you spend your dollars. A membership here supports unethical practices.

So that's how I initially knew they existed, and more recently Austin influencer Jenna Palek posted that her friends actually own this so that's super cool! Not sure if I came on a bad day or at a low-peak time but it was kind of "dead". I wasn't personally looking for a more busy environment at the time, but just an observation for a Thursday around 5-6pm. I borrowed their restroom to do an outfit change, then ordered a drink because I felt bad taking up space while waiting for another nearby business to open where my event was being hosted. It was fun to watch the staff and patrons laugh together and see "neighborhood camaraderie". One of the staff was celebrating a birthday so I joined in on the singing to him! Also, just to note that there's only a combo "human and dog" entrance, I was trying to locate a solo "human" entrance but I don't think there is one. The bar patio area is leashed, but the yard isn't! They also have food trucks on site but I didn't try them.

There is a parking garage at the Palmer Events Center that is usually $12 if you're looking for somewhere close to park for a full day. Otherwise there are small lots and other garages just across the bridge downtown that are convenient. I am not sure if the bathrooms are open. Every time I have tried to use one they are closed and only have porta potties outside.

It has well established walking trails, some have pretty good shade because of the surrounding trees another area is more of an open park with more of the feel of a school track. Both are nice. There were a few people when we arrived early and as the morning drew on more people arrived. But the area is so expansive it never felt crowded. It was a very pleasant morning on this trail. I'm hoping to come back on a consistent basis to walk here as an addition to my normal workouts.

There is basically one moderate-length loop with a few branching paths to shorten or make it longer; I'd guess only about a mile. My husband and I have gone there to run a couple times. The paths are a fine gravel/dirt. There's a shallow pond in the center, not for swimming or fishing, just a water feature, along with a windmill. Sometimes the train rattles by and that's fun to hear. There's a play structure for kids as well, though it is mostly monkey bars plus a slide. Bathrooms with running water nearby. Pretty good sized parking lot, well-maintained asphalt. This park gets transformed during the Christmas season into a walkthrough where many small/local businesses get a small plot to decorate and advertise, and they typically have a few concessions like hot cocoa or kettle corn, and a Santa Claus for kids to visit. That sort of thing.
