When you get there , there is a pool you'll visibly see but as you walk further down you'll see the very BIG spring/river fed swimming pool. If you bring things it has to be in a cooler, no glass, no styrofoam and there is a no tolerance rule on alcohol they will absolutely kick you out, no refunds. We brought a wagon (seen parents with strollers) and a small cooler for food and things. (Sodas, veggie tray, fruit, snacks) the workers WILL CHECK COOLERS so be weary! If you get there early there will be picnic tables available, you can also bring folding chairs and tables, if you don't bring either they allow quilted or picnic blanket. Please also know the water is EXTREMELY cold, 63 degrees, so if you bring little children I would recommend going to the kitty area that doesn't fully submerge them and that is tolerable. Life guards are everywhere so no worries there. The slide is also not there anymore but for a bit older kids there is a something they can swing off of that you'll pass when coming in. There's really something for all ages. THE WATER IS CLEAN!

When they do, they shoot the messenger and protect the guilty. There is one woman lap swimmer who nearly everybody is afraid of. She is as mean as a snake. She has been lying to people about me repeatedly. She called me an asshole to my face in front of others, for no reason. She has been pissed off because when people ask to share my lane, if they have plastic paddles I ask them not to use them because I have been hit hard by good swimmers and it hurts. You can look it up- injuries and pain from plastic paddle hits in lap pools is a known problem. Yesterday an obviously competitive swimmer asked to share my lane. At first I said ok but then I saw he had plastic paddles so I asked him not to use them and I told him why. I was polite and so was he. He went to another lane. Next I saw the woman talking with the lifeguard- this is what she does- she befriends the female lifeguards then manipulates them into coming after me. Next, a guy in the middle lane starts talking loudly for all to hear saying "everybody has to share". He too obviously was upset at me. I have never spoken to the guy. I think he may have also been manipulated by this terrible woman. I corrected him. I said that I have no problem sharing, but I have a problem with the plastic paddles because they hurt when people hit you with them. He accused me of poor arm control, which was a lie. When sharing I always stay far on my side, and I never swam with this guy. Then I see the lifeguard standing near me with the assistant pool manager, who until recently, I thought was a friend. They were whispering. I said "Hey, come here. I want to talk to you about what has been happening here. Only the assistant director came over. I told him exactly what had happened. He told me that I cannot ask people not to use plastic paddles. Today I got a call from the pool director. Before he could say anything, I said- I am going to tell you what really happened. I told him the true story. He said that was not what he was told by multiple people. Clearly, the others were lying- probably repeating the lies the old woman told them about me. Before that, I offered to never occupy an entire lane, to demonstrate that I have no problem sharing. And I said if anybody asked to share with plastic paddles I will give up my lane and share with somebody else. And I said if that is not good enough, you can give me my money back and I will never go to your evil pool again. So that is the situation. I have more horror stories about the Lakeway Swim Center lap pool but thats enough for now. The best example I can give of what Lakeway Swim Center management and staff, and some lap swimmers, did to me recently, is PUBLIC LYNCHING. Yes, you read that right. No doubt about it, if these beasts had had a tree and a rope, they would have hung my ass! Do yourself a favor- skip this evil hell hole

There is no shade to speak of when in the water, so be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen. They have lockers to store valuables on site, but you need to bring your own lock. They also have dedicated dressing/shower areas and relatively clean toilets. If you don't use a locker, you have to place everything on the sides of the pool in the grass/dirt (be sure to bring a picnic blanket if you plan to hang out there at all). The grass/dirt area is nicely shaded. No beverages apart from water is allowed by the pool. Entry fees were $5/person for Austin residents. It was an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

Your first impression of the pool will probably be wow it's large with so many lanes and many areas where you can just swim or float to your hearts content. Another impression might be and it was especially for me the bright blue water of the pool. It looks refreshing, cool, and inviting. Deep Eddiy pool has a oblong shape typical of large pools of its size. The pool has architecturally clean lines with precise corners. When you stand on the pool platform the vastness of the pool rushes to the forefront. Everytime I stick my foot in the water of the Deep Eddy pool, that cool refreshing feeling envelopes my body. Friendly for kids of all ages with different sections offering slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and experiences for all age groups. My daughters (ages 7 and 3) particularly loved the kids slide section and the wave pool. I did see quite a few dead bugs and leaves in the lazy river and wave pool which was a little off putting. They have lockers to store belongings, as well as clean bathrooms and changing rooms onsite. They also offer a variety of food choices which are pretty good & reasonably priced. Very few crowds if you arrive right at opening time. I was happy to see there were no lines at all for the slides. They open a half hour early for season pass members; general admission is 11am. Definitely worth checking out for a day of family fun in the hot TX summer!
