I'm going to start with, I don't usually do this type of thing. Usually I only give good reviews and leave the bad ones to myself, but I am beyond irritated (putting it nicely). Every time we have gone to Budde's Pizza, we have had extremely slow service. There have been many times that we have gone in, and it would take 10 to 15 minutes to be acknowledged because the servers are too "busy" on their cell phone or talking and hugging other customers. We've overlooked that because we loved their pizza. However, today I have had enough because not only was the order slow, the pizza didn't even taste good because the order was screwed up. Instead of even making it right, the owner Diane was beyond rude. When Heather ordered the taco pizza and said we wanted pizza sauce because we didn't want beans, she told her that the taco pizza doesn't have beans so she ordered it normal. We get home after waiting 10 minutes in line to even be acknowledged because she was too busy just hanging out and leaning on the bar and hugging another customer, we find beans on the pizza nor did I get the hot honey sauce that we ordered. When we called her, she started yelling and being rude. Never again. I usually give second chances, but if you want to be rude (putting that mildly) and curse at me, I will support other small businesses. read more

When I visit my friends that live in the Galesburg area, I love to hit this bar. Their pizza is good, and the owner considers himself a beer guy and it shows by his selection of craft beers available on tap and in the bottle. They also have a lot of live music, however, due to the size of the bar area, and where the stage is, it can get really loud. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and get yourself their all meat pizza and try some beer. read more

Pretty decent selection of artesian craft beer in the fridges, although a little hard to see from behind the bar. They had popcorn, fussball tables and a bunch of bar tables. We didn't try the pizza but they looked like there was a lot of options. Best part was the variety of bottled beer. read more

I was on a road trip out west with some friends and got tired around Galesburg. Our hotel sucked and the bar recommended by Yelp was closed. Lucky for us because we stumbled on Budde's and it ruled! The DJ was spinning sludgy metal and the beer was frosty and cheap. Friendly staff too. My only regret is that we were too late for pizza. read more

This place has some of the best pizza in the city! Last time I ordered, they did curbside service. I got this chicken pizza with artichoke and green olives...if you like a thicker style pizza, this place is for you! Not only do they have amazing food, they have a great selection of craft beer. Have to go down a star bc they are putting less sausage on the pizza than before. And they seem to possibly be compensating it with doughier pizza as the crust is thicker than from before. The pizza is solid. I always order mine well done and the crust here gets pretty crispy. A li'l too much cheese and sauce for my liking but good nonetheless. What gives this spot the extra star is the love with which the pizza is made. One of the owners brought the pizza to us at the bar and we started talking. She said, "the pizza geek question to always ask is, 'is your dough made from scratch in-house?' we make ours here every day." Ya gotta love that. No pre-made store bought dough here. read more

Best pizza in town. Lots of toppings and good crust. Best selection of craft beers by far. Staff is always helpful. We ordered a carry-out pizza. Wait time was 45 minutes or more, which we thought was reasonable, but might not appeal to every customer. For one large thin-crust pepperoni pizza, our total was $27.98. That's a steep price for the area, on par with prices for really good pizza in Chicagoland. And, unfortunately, while good, it wasn't great. The sauce was bland, tasted like canned tomato sauce with no seasoning; crust lacked flavor and for an alleged "thin crust" was soggy and weak. It was topped with heaps of cheese; I could barely taste the pepperoni. After sampling a couple of pieces, we ended up going home and spicing it up to give it more flavor and putting it in the oven on a stone to crisp. It was disappointing. It may indeed be the "best in town" as others have said, but I doubt we would ever order again. read more

Dollar for dollar, this is the BEST pizza in town. The prices are very reasonable and the volume of toppings can't be beat! The personal pizza is truly enough to fill one up and not be wanting more. To top it off, there are beer or drink specials nightly and who doesn't want a cold one to wash down the best pizza? Checked out this place last night and had a medium Hawaiian Pizza with jalapenos. I liked it- decent pub style pizza. Cheesy, greasy, just what I'd expect for pizza made in-house with a bar. If you are looking for gourmet pizza, this isn't it- but that being said, the PBR on tap tastes good, and the vibe is pretty relaxed and family friendly. Nice place to pop in to for a drink with friends. I know I'll be back some time on a Tuesday for open mic. read more

Best collection of beers in town, especially from small but excellent breweries! The thin crust pizza is absolutely top, and special wishes are honored (like my Napoli Tuna Pizza). We were traveling through Galesburg and stopped here on a Sunday night based on other good yelp reviews. We walked in and the place was pretty empty except for some men at the bar. The only person I saw working there was at the bar, so I asked if we could take the table in front. "How many?" She asked. "10", I responded. She rolled her eyes, loudly scowled, and snapped "Are you KIDDING ME!?!" and turned and walked away. I was flabbergasted. I don't think walking into a pizza place/ bar at 6 pm and asking for a table for 10 is an unreasonable request and I have never been treated so rudely, especially when so unwarranted. Needless to say, they lost our business and prompted me to write this negative review. read more

We called ahead early Saturday evening to see if they could accommodate a group of 25, including 15 kids who had just completed a day long swim meet. They said yes and we arrived 20 minutes later. The tables were arranged for us. They assigned two servers to our group and they were quick to take our drink and appetizer orders. After that, the evening went downhill. The menu states that pizza take up to 45 minutes. The server said they weren't busy so we figured that ordering a bunch of appetizers would keep us happy during that time period. A trip to the restroom confirmed that the place was empty with the exception of a few people sitting at the bar. Fast forward two hours. Most of the meals had trickled out during this time, however four people did not have food including two who ordered chef salads. I had to take the empty cups to the bar for refills because our two servers were in charge of the entire restaurant. The manager was rude although she did comp some of the meals. We found out 90 minutes into our ordeal that: 1. They only have one fryer. 2. The "burgers" aren't grilled, they're microwaved. 3. They didn't have enough buns. They knew that when they took the order but didn't say anything to us. The pizza was good, but the entire experience has put this place on my "never visit again" list. read more

We ordered a medium pizza and some breaded mushrooms. The mushrooms took about half an hour, and they were very cold and gross. When someone checked up on us 15 minutes later, we complained and were given a new batch of breaded shrooms-- also cold. When the pizza came out after another 10 minutes, it was just meh. They pile cheese on top of it; I couldn't even see the toppings in it. My fiancés beer draught beer was only semi-cold. Overall, bad experience. Would not return. read more

Pizza is outstanding and worth the wait. They have a healthy portion of nachos and good choice of beers.

I have eaten there three times and I think the pizza is great. Large bottle craft beer selection and I like american micro & craft beer. Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. If you like beer or an adult beverage with your pizza it is a must try. The restaurant side is family friendly also. read more

Their food might taste good and most of it is worth the money but not an hour and a half wait for it. On top of that their burritos seem to have shrunk quite a bit since our last visit. When we voiced our opinion about the fact that the burrito had gotten smaller but not the price the manager, in a condescending voice, told us that they have always been that size. He then offered to comp our meals and told us not to feel obligated to try again......basically saying don't come back. We left and definitely have no plans on going there again. I will say that the sandwiches we ordered were good and well worth the price the whole experience was very unpleasant. read more
