Good selection of foods at a great price. Their weekend bartender has a no nonsense approach and is very good at her job.

If you went to Sully's back in the day, you'll be happy to know the owners are still rocking it with Sidetrax (downtown Galesburg) and Trax Northside (Monmouth). This was extremely comforting to find after hearing their restaurant on Henderson closed in '22. While I loved Sully's, the distance from campus made it a must to designate a driver or coordinate rides. The proximity to Knox makes Sidetrax and easy choice for college students looking for a solid meal, watch a game with a yeasty beverage, or night out. You'll also find many of the same menu items and some new ones! I'm eager to try some cheese curds and revisit the Sully's Reuben. If you like craft beer, there's a small fridge to the right of the bar that has several cans eager to be sampled. I recognize those visiting the 'burg may belittle Sidetrax to an average sports bar serving typical pub selections. While l can understand some of the quick takes and average reviews from Yelpers, I think it a bit dismissive. There's a reason the Bernardi brothers have over 20 successful years delivering what the people want. |TO BE CLEAR:| As a Knox student, I learned to eat wings at Sully's and the flavor profile of their buffalo sauce and honey mustard dressing (always got a side salad to make myself feel better) are *pure nostalgia*. I've traveled the nation sampling popular wing establishments from every corner of the 48 continuous--a self proclaimed wing aficionado on Yelp--but it all comes back to Sully's wings. "Mild, wild, screamers, nitro" were a regular mantra amongst my friend and I'm happy to say Sidetrax version do not disappoint! read more

We visited Sidetrax on Christmas Eve and had a bite to eat. This was our first time in. I had some sort of shaved steak/Italian beef sandwich. It was pretty good. For a beverage, I went with vodka tonics, and they were good. Service was good as well. Our bartender/server apparently relocated from Sully's, which is now closed. Good vibe at Sidetrax, and though they closed around 5:00 on Christmas Eve we were able to get some food in our bellies and have some drinks in a comfortable atmosphere. read more

This is a restaurant/bar. There's very limited finer dining restaurants in this town so options are limited. This is your average bar menu. Same applies with the drinks as well. Plenty of beer. I stopped here for a cold beer because I have not had one in months and it had a railroad name. The place is very deep and it has a back room and a kitchen. It's a nice old looking bar with a wood ceiling and long bar with hi tables along the brick wall. The taps limited so I opted for the ciderboys hard cider because I have never had hard cider before and it was ok. The people were nice and talked to you and I would stop back if in the area again. read more

First timers! Appetizer, Bang, Bang Shrimp: wish there would be bigger shrimp than the little ones given. Sauce does have a kick, so that is a positive. Wine is pretty decent: Chardonnay. Service is very efficient: warm and inviting. However, she could check on her tables more, especially to tend to the clearing and cleaning. This was our first stop on our created Pub Crawl. Do you like Wings? Do you want to avoid large chain restaurants? Do you like beer? If you answered yes to all three of those questions Sidetrax is the place for you! Obviously I don't live in the area, but I have friends that do and when we visit this has quickly become one of my favorite spots to eat. Now, I've only been there twice, and both times I ordered wings. They have some of the best wings I've had. I'm especially fond of their Golden Fire sauce; great flavor and not too hot (according to my tastes, others would disagree but they'd be wrong.) I would say the next time I went I'd get a burger, but I do love me some wings and I doubt I could pass them up! The other nice thing is that they have a fairly good craft beer selection. It's not as large as other places, but it's still large enough that any beer snobs out there should be able to find something to their liking. The atmosphere is that of an American Bar. It's not dive bar material, but it's not quite up to Sports Bar either. It's kind of in between. It was clean, but it had an older, dated feel to it. The service both times I went was excellent. I never had any trouble getting service and never had a complaint. The staff was friendly and kind and never caused any trouble. In fact one time when I was in there some locals started causing trouble and the staff quickly and efficiently handled it before it got out of hand. If you are in the Galesburg area, or just driving by on the interstate and want to get something to eat that's not a chain. I'd give Sidetrax a try. Trust me, you could do much worse. read more

Went in for dinner after work with a friend. They led me to the tables wasn't sure if we were supposed to wait as Im new in town. Waitress was kind at first. Food smelled amazing. I how ever exist with autism and it got far too loud in the eating area at random moments in random songs. I was not comfortable already as I was seeking to pay the bill we were waiting about 15 minutes before I got impatient and checked the bar area a few times. Waitress then came back only took one bill and walked away causing me to bring the second one to the bar where they were visibly annoyed by my return to the bar. I just wanted to get out of there and go to bed. After finally having my tab paid out I accidentally left my debit card on the bar. When I returned to grab it I got sarcastic remarks. Didn't even get to eat my meal which sucks cause it smelled and looked amazing. Have no interest in returning to this place ever again. Which sucks cause I'm moving to the area right now read more

Decided to go to Sidertrax after First Friday because I was hungry for a grilled tenderloin-no bun. Horrible service. Not given silverware. Husband actually went and got it himself. Food SUCKED. Tenderloin was about half fat. No seasoning. Was literally a slice of low quality pork loin, not thin. I sent it back. The waitress took it, started to walk away and as an afterthought turned and said "Do you want something else?" Nope I'm good. Fries used to be good. Ick. Husband couldn't finish his burger. It was bad. We will probably will never go back due to awful service and downhill food. Sad. We used to eat there regularly. Sent multiple PMs with no response from Sidetrax. Will not ever go back or go to their new venture Seminary Street Pub. Generally you get one business straightened out and running well before you open another. read more

The first couple of times my husband and I went in here the food was good we just got basic things like pizza or a burger Our last three visits the food is progressively getting worse. Yesterday I thought I'd give it one more shot and I took my daughter in I ordered fish and chips on the menu at stated you get a salad and homemade chips Your chips were from a bag And the fish breading tasted like it had cinnamon in it. Wow....I've been called honey twice in to minutes. Mind you I had to ask for a menu and now it's been 5 minutes without someone coming back to me. The staff is ill equipped to handle someone who knows the industry and seemed thrown when I asked for a 119 second Guinness. Also the don't have actual Guinness glass just pints. So I ventured in here not knowing what to expect, the owner who I had to ask to pour me another drink; I'm thinking the bartender must have thought I was joking, which wasn't. I will say the bar was very busy but I was told it's not normally like this it was just a class reunion. In any event having only a bartender and the owner does not make good service. Wow, I haven't ordered but now the bartender is all over me and even after telling her I prefer Shawn or Sir she still is calling me honey. It clearly is to much for her to handle. Now to the very basics of the bar. Maybe 12 micros that I can see. That does not include mass produced items like, fat tire, new castle, Sierra Nevada, etc. the rail includes in order. Their so called Chef's Salad is a complete joke. I could not believe my eyes when the salad arrived at the table. Shopped up lettuce and a few pieces of tomato. That was it! And I'm not the only one served crap in this restaurant. I know people with the exact same experience. Food is really sad in this town (Galesburg, IL). Sidetrax is right across the street from where I work... so, I blame it on me gaining weight. Lunches are fast of very good with the unbreaded tenderloin my favorite. Waitresses and bartenders are all friendly and the service is wonderful. It's also a great place to hop into and have a few cold ones after work. Highly recommended!! read more

The service was great and the environment was comfortable. Very affordable. I got the Cheddar n' Bacon burger, and while the meat was plenty good, the sheer amount of dripping liquid cheese on the thing was almost overwhelming. Usually when my family goes to sidetrack I have nothing but good things to say however today's visit was not so great. We ordered an appetizer and waited and waited and waited for it. About 25 minutes later the waitress comes and says that they lost our order and we had to put it back in. The waitress seemed like she was nice but we didn't see her enough to make a judgement. Very upset by this trip. The waitress never came to our table other than to bring out food. She never checked on us never refilled our drinks. She didn't even bring our check. Live in the area but I have not been here in years, but last night decided to give it a try. Actually pretty good, decent drink pours. It was taco night so $1.25 per taco, nothing special but it was all we wanted. Our waitress was very attentive.. we sat in a booth that had the heat vent so we were nice and warm on a wintery evening. We avoided Sidetrax this past Tuesday. Tuesday's they offer a dine-in-only $2 burger with the purchase of a drink. However, 2 prior Tuesday's my husband got his drink in a dirty glass! The March 19th visit, he asked the guy that brought him his food if he could exchange the pop for a beer because of the dirty glass and did get it exchanged, BUT, he was still charged $1.95 for the pop as well as the $2.25 Miller Light! We had even told the waitress about the exchange, but was still charged for the dirty glass. Things like that just make you wonder if drink glasses are dirty, are the plates beneath the food or the kitchen dirty too? Our family and us were weekly regulars when it was Crappy's, but of our group, the two of us were the only ones left that went to Sidetrax, but that has now stopped. To many of our restaurants in Galesburg, IL have gone downhill and I don't see that improving. Too bad to! read more
