I found Excalibur Taxi Service in a Google search around 10:45 AM. It had no reviews. I was very skeptical. I didn't want to end up in some skeevy car with some sketchy driver. When I called, it sounded like a teenager answered the phone. This didn't help me feel better. He was polite and took my information and answered my questions, but he sounded so *young*. I still made an arrangement for a pickup because no one other taxi services were answering. I was supposed to be picked up at 12:30 PM. They said they'd call me when the driver was near. I ended up calling them at 12:15pm to make sure they were still coming. (I was so afraid that they wouldn't show up because it was hard even finding someone to pick me up.) The same person answered the phone and assured me that they were. The driver (female) arrived on time. Turns out that it *was* a young adult answering the phone. It was her son. Lol. In the taxi ride (a cute Kia Soul with her company logo on front) she explained that they are a small company owned by her and her husband. They sounded relatively new. Her son works for them. I will use them again. She was on time. She charged a reasonable rate to take me from Ocala to Dunnellon. The vehicle was clean and didn't small like smoke. I gave her a $20 tip for being prompt and professional. Give them a try. Support a small business. Also, don't freak out if the person who answers the phone sounds young. He is, but he will make sure your ride is arranged.

Plenty of room for the tow vehicle. Our granddaughter was excited about the ice cream social so we dug into our bag of coins and came up with enough money to cover her, my wife and my mother. This hunch I had that he wouldn't let me out was completely correct. My ride to Tampa airport was booked a few days before. Communication with Neil was difficult as he wanted flight numbers and other extraneous details. He called me the day before my ride seemingly confused and slurring. I was foolish to not immediately cancel and book Uber right then. Do not make the same mistake I did because it is just a matter of time before this man hurts someone. Neil arrived 15 minutes early at 5:45 am. I would have booked later if I knew he makes an unannounced habit of this, please see his other reviews. I was unable to finish my flight preparations and just quickly grabbed my stuff and rushed out. When I questioned our original booking time he responded defensively so I just stopped talking. After loading my bag I hopped in the car. It's older but in ok shape. Immediately I noticed the smell of incredibly strong cologne. It was suffocating. Neil forgot his credit card machine and had to manually enter my card while mumbling and cursing the whole time. Driving was initially spotty and made me really nervous right away. By Spring Hill he had me audibly gasping. He is not a safe driver. He missed a turn on Cortez and braked hard at a green then appeared to be considering a left from the center lane. The driving worsened as we continued. The lane indicator beeped incessantly as Neil crossed the yellow lane continuously. I was terrified. I texted my partner states away as I was anticipating being in an accident. By the time we got to Tampa International I was begging to be let out anywhere. Literally anywhere. Neil argued with me until I demanded to be let out. Now, hours later, I am sitting at my terminal being harassed by this man. He texted me to make excuses about his driving not long after I ran out of his car. I plan to contact the Citrus County Sheriff's Department as I now suspect that Neil was inebriated when he picked me up. Under no circumstances should you, or anyone you know, use this transportation service.

Consequently, we had stayed twice without realizing that the area was replete with beautiful lakes, rivers, and waterways. In other words, we had been to Inverness without really getting to know Inverness. The historic Lake House, built in the 1920s, sits on Lake Henderson; an expansive lake that meanders through the area. Your host and ours is Cathy Johnson, who serves as hostess, chef (breakfasts were excellent), and moderator of dialogue between a diverse group of guests. We became friends with Robert and Stefia who were visiting from Germany, Gert and Pastor Floyd who were visiting from Alaska, and couples from Michigan and Ohio. In this antique lodge with such a gracious hostess you can't help but become instant friends with the other guests. This is what a retreat truly should be. The property is great for walking around or sitting down in quiet meditation. There is a lookout where you can enjoy the view of the winding lake and, note, this is a great spot for weddings; a walkway leads down to the lake with large flower pots on each side, being a perfect setting for a bride's last walk as a single lady. The definition of a great retreat is good fellowship amidst the joy and wonder of nature. Often the blunt, brutal force of life leaves us weary and we risk becoming impressed with the Devil - the negative charge of the world - and we need a getaway The Lake House is that wonderful getaway and we'll be back soon.

Going 15 miles an hour on a bumpy dirt road for miles can take a while.
