I would have given 5 stars but I had to call several times before I was actually able to speak with someone as no one ever returned any of the phone messages I left. Once I was able to speak with someone, it could not have gone any smoother than it did. Tom arrived on time and brought everything I asked to see. He measured all the windows where I wanted to put blinds. We thought we knew exactly what we wanted, but Tom had many more choices than we expected. The cost was about half of what I expected - plus it included installation. I received an email when the blinds were being shipped and then another to schedule installation. The two people who arrived on time again, got in, installed everything, and were out the door about an hour later. That was 15 windows now covered with blinds in a hair over an hour! And they answered my questions after I checked every window to make sure they were all installed to my satisfaction. It's over a month later and I'm still very happy with the selection we made and the installation. I've already recommended them to others who are now scheduling their I installations. read more

I first contacted this company during the pandemic. Since then I have ordered window treatments a few more times and have spent thousands of dollars. Brooke is polite via email only - she never answers the phone and if you leave a message she will respond via email; she does not have an out of office activated when applicable. Bobby responds to email most of the time and after a few days. My last order I specifically said that I wanted the louvers on my plantation shutters exactly the same length as what was previously installed. Matt installed one window with louvers half the size as all the others; the window in question is in the basement. I am not a wealthy person - redoing the shutter/louvers the way I specifically requested is not an option. Be prudent when selecting this company; there are others in the area with stronger customer service. read more

I wish I could say I have been happy, but I really have not. Here is why: 1. Slow communication I dealt with Sally who was slow to return emails sometimes forgetting to respond back to me or finding out answers until I email her a second time. So it took ten days total to get an answer to what should have been a pretty simple question. 2. Incorrect Information and not Informing Customer. When she came out she quoted me a time of 2-3 weeks for the shades and said it would be longer for blinds. She said they could do two different installs since some shades were for a bedroom and we were expecting company. After 5 weeks and no phone call I emailed her. It took her ten days to get me an answer (after I sent a second follow up email when I didn't get an answer) and tell me that they will be doing one install instead of two. She says a part for my shades was on back order. Well...that type of communication would have been appreciated up front verses me having to call and find out the information myself. 3. Incorrect time window give. We were given a time frame of 2-3 weeks for the shades to arrive and it took two months (Order placed May 20 and installed July 20th). Install went okay. They arrived much later than the window given, but the installer apparently had a hang up at the previous job. I just wish I would have gotten a call saying he would be two hours later than what we were originally told. The blinds themselves look nice. The basement door I am a little disappointed with as we will probably watch movies in the basement and might want it dark. Sally seemed to think I would have good black out, but light leaks through the window on the door as the installer could not get the shade flush to the window. The installer (Matt) suggested that I tint the window. It wasn't something I would have thought of doing. I am sure I payed extra for the "black out" version of the honeycomb shade we chose. Oh well...now to find someone to tint that window. read more

Once I bought a new home - one of the first things I needed were blinds. I felt so open and exposed with nothing covering my windows! Not to mention it was a royal pain in the ass to try and sleep in with bright sunshine filling my bedroom on weekend mornings. I decided to try Budget Blinds on a recommendation from a friend. The guy who runs the local office came out to my house one Saturday morning - he brought a boatload of samples with him. After giving me his traditional canned overview of their products - I then sent him off to measure and count all of my windows - while I perused the samples. I ended up going for a composite material - in a white color, with a faux wood grain look to it. I had 21 windows to "blind," including a Sliding Glass Door. A couple of weeks later - I had taken the day off to stay home and have the Builder come in and fix a few things - it was a Friday when we had an ice storm - wouldn't you know it - every one of the Builder's little contractor minions called and canceled on account of the weather. A few minutes later, the phone rings, it's Budget Blinds calling - wanting to know if they can come over and install my blinds which arrived late yesterday. Yayyyyyyyyyy! My day won't be wasted after all. So I tell them to come over - their only request to me was to make sure I salted the front walk so the delivery/installation guy would not kill himself on the front walk. It took him about 3 hours to install everything - and it all looks great! I'd recommend Budget Blinds to you! read more

I used Budget Blinds on plantation shutters, wood blinds, roman shades and honeycomb shades in our house and have been SUPER happy! This is a rating for the Budget Blinds of Charlottesville, Warrenton, Loudoun and South Riding. They are individually contracted and you get to only work with that one for your local zip code. Unfortunately, the only one for my zip code and cannot use another one with a better rating. Horrible customer service. Had "Sally" come to my house in 2017 and went with a completely different company due to poor customer service. Hard selling and ' just go to Home Depot" when you ask any tough questions. Then in 2022 wanted a shade for one window bay and made contact with "Ann." Both Sally and Ann give the same " just go to Home Depot' line when you challenge their statements or ask for clarifications. Ann also insisted I send a photo so she would not have to come and do a measurement and insisted on calling/emailing excessively. I guess they think their are no competitors for the business since it is by zip code. I would recommend for competitive pricing and more professional service go with Blooming Blinds of NOVA. read more

Unhappy with the quality of the materials, the products, the selling tactics, and the customer service. While they seem like nice enough people to your face, it certainly didn't feel as if it mattered whether or not I was satisfied with their product and service. They made the sale already, and I was locked in. I liken this to having a large group at a restaurant and having the mandatory tip tacked onto your bill--regardless of whether or not your party was treated well. For as much as I paid, I was quite surprised to end up with window treatments that felt no better than the stuff one can pick up at Home Depot, Lowe's, or online. What I purchased wasn't supposed to be temporary, but I'm honestly not sure that these things will last. When it's time to replace, I've already decided to go elsewhere. read more

We used budget blinds to 'blind' our new custom home in 2004 and spent about $12k on the process. Things went well. My low rating is subsequent to the initial purchase and installation. We have had a number of failures over time to blinds which is entirely understandable. However, what is less understandable is the difficulty in getting service after the sale. Good luck on that. Very difficult and you definitely pay for the privilege. Even better, one of their service trucks slide into my 4 board horse fence and broke it down. Rather than paying me for the damage, the owner offered to sue ME instead. Needless to say, I hope they enjoyed my money, because it's the last money of mine they will ever see. read more

Really wish we had gone to Lowe's where we had gotten blinds in the pass at three other houses. The blinds don't close tight ,and let light in through the holes the cord runs through. These are custom made so, you're stuck with them ...satisfaction doesn't matter. Also agree with others regarding delivery dates and not really a bargain read more

The consultant diplomatically steered me to a product I hadn't considered but which turned out to be exactly the right choice. I truly do not like to leave a bad review but I was so disappointed from the initial consultation to the final instal. I worked with Wayne and Like others I was promised a delivery of 2/3 weeks it was way longer and no communication to advise of this. When the product arrived several blinds were left uneven and the ones I paid a small fortune for you could literally see through the sewing holes. Those were reordered weeks went by and a new installation day was given however i had to cancel. The fitters went in my home without permission and with no one being there. The only way i knew some of the blinds had been replaced was when they called for money in September! Not Happy at all. Eventually on 1 November we got our last blind and I am still not happy with the quality. I should add these were not cheap, almost $7000 for two levels, do yourself a favor and shop around. read more

We moved into our new home and needed to get blinds, so we ended going with this company since the builder provided a referral ad in our welcome kit - this was definitely a mistake and lessons learned. Unhappy with the overall installation experience - they started out with the incorrect measurements so door treatments had to be reordered, causing another setback of a few weeks. The installers ended up creating several unnecessary screw holes into our doors and window frame, which had to be replaced and/or repaired by the business owner. The second go-around of installation also had missing items and the owner blamed his supplier as if this was an excuse to share with us. As a customer, we don't care who the suppliers are and shouldn't - bringing us into the dilemma of your business relationships is unprofessional and gives customers a negative customer experience. We requested compensation for the horrible experience and got turned down. All in all, we regret not going to Home Depot for window/door treatments and will never use this company again. read more
