Originally I had rented a Chevy spark or equivalent. But prior to booking through Costco, I tried requesting android auto just for the easy navigation and bluetooth integration. When we arrived we were assigned a Toyota Corolla which was better but would not have android auto. Charlie made it possible moving us to a Ford hybrid with leather interior. I was impressed with the hybrid. We had travelled like 800km and I managed to get by with a full tank of gas which was about 60L of gas. That was fantastic. A regular car, you would need 120Lof gas. My only feedback was the car filter and cleanliness of the car. We just felt there were some weird stains. The car filter...the air felt...stagnant and dusty in the cab.

Those are expensive prescription sunglasses of use to no one else. And, I know, ABSOLUTELY, they were left in the vehicle. Somehow they have gone missing. When I knocked on the door a lady came and said very rudely, we are closed, I said my son just fell can we at least come in and warm up. She was still short and rude and when I asked about an airport shuttle she told me we needed to walk to the hotel, which was two hotels over, in the cold with all our luggage to catch a shuttle. I asked if I could call for the shuttle to come get us and even after my son falling, the temp outside and I was clearly not happy she said, we aren't supposed to, still with the same rude tone. While this was happening another employee came in, a man, didn't offer any help to us at all and proceeded to start the car we had just returned to check it back in. No offer of a ride or help with luggage or anything. When picking up my rental no one mentioned to me that they would not be open at 9 am and that the shuttle would be at a nearby hotel, had they mentioned this I would have allowed time for this and would have been prepared. But instead this was all a surprise and staff was rude and unhelpful.

When I showed up to pick up my rental I was greeted with smiles and got to meet my customer service agent Teron John. He took the time to go over my booking and all the paperwork. When he was showing the exterior and interior of my rental he also explained to me how damage works. When we finished that he went through all the options on the car. When I brought the vehicle back Teron asked how my trip was and asked how the car worked for me. When Teron was finishing my return paperwork he offered me a ride home instead of calling for a taxi. They said I would most likely get a Chrysler 300 but when I got there they had upgraded me to a Limited edition 2014 Taurus with under 1500km on it. I didn't have to pay anything extra and it was ready within 5 minutes of arrival. The office is quite plain but that doesn't matter if it does the trick. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did ask about a minivan for my next rental and the manager even told me that booking online is always cheaper than booking in store so I will continue to so it that way!

In moments she found me a vehicle and my options for my day out expanded to the possibility of great adventures in shopping. The driver, Mike from Ethiopia, picked me up at home. A great conversationalist, we covered the secrets of injera (the ubiquitous Ethiopian bread that underlies every meal) and the coffee ritual that frames their most delicious beans. I spent thrice the amount of time with Mike than I expected because my wallet fell out of my pocket at home, which I discovered once at the rental branch, so he took me back home and then back to the agency. I took the van back, spoke with a representative (who was polite and professional), the problem I needed a van and they didn't have another. They agreed to drop $50.00 off the rental cost and I took the van home and used a disinfectant plant based spray to eliminate the smell. All is good. When my husband returned the van is when the issue began. They claim they couldn't give us the $50.00 discount because we booked through Expedia. Instead they gave us a questionable credit on the back of a business card for our next booking. I highly doubt Expedia is going to honour this. Very disappointed. I'm not going back to that location.
