There was someone in the next room crying and moaning all the time like a child with developmental or emotional issues or a woman in labor. One morning I went for breakfast and the UNATTENDED breakfast area was terrible. A previous guest had put syrup on a waffle and then placed it into the waffle maker. I was single but a 2nd bed (usually not needed except to place clothes) was missing. There was a huge area in the room with no furniture! A family lives in this hotel and takes up half of the first floor so don't try to get a room on the 1st floor. Disappointing to say the least.

They've updated some important things; there are charging outlets on the nightstand and Keurig coffee makers in the room. I liked that they use refillable bottles for shampoo, etc rather than the small disposable containers. I did not like the layout of the bathroom which was even less short-person friendly than a typical hotel. Seriously...I had to take a roll of TP and put it on the toilet tank because the holders were out of reach....and forget about trying to adjust the shower head...I would have needed a step stool for sure....at least it was set at an OK angle and setting. Staff were all very nice and friendly. We enjoyed the cooked to order breakfast which was not included but priced very reasonably. The yogurt bowl was around $5.50 and was delicious and attractively presented. Honestly I was expecting a blob of yogurt with some granola...this was much nicer and tastier. Coffee and juice are complimentary. The hot cocoa bar in the lobby was lovely and we really enjoyed all the holiday decorations.

The room was clean and the price after fees wasn't unreasonable ($134 for the night). Location is great being right off the highway. All of the staff members we interacted with were friendly. The continental breakfast was meh. Only one of the two buffet trays had food in it and the scrambled eggs were very watery. They have plain and cinnamon roll flavored waffle batter, but the cinnamon didn't have much punch to it. The apple juice had little flavor and was almost like drinking water.

My only complaint would be that I'm not sure why Hilton insists on having countertops and showers for tall people, and then finds the shortest toilet stools available, where your knees are by your ears.

Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful and this is what truly has us coming back. The breakfast is quite decent and great selection of foods (eggs, waffles, bagels, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches etc). They do have a small workout room (weights , a couple treadmills and an elliptical ). Their pool is on the smaller side but is never crowded. Location wise, it is right by the adventure commons If you are there for a sporting event. The mall (which has a movie theater) is right across the parking lot along with a couple restaurants. If you are in the area for an event- I would recommend staying at the Fairfield Inn!

Went to check in and he gave me the 2nd floor...shrugged his shoulders when I said my son is in a wheelchair...gave us a 2 queen room on the first floor..dingy, dirty sheets, one towel..holes in dresser..we were in town for concert, and did not want to drive home afterwards..we probably should have. Did not eat breakfast there.."Jay" was working again when we checked out and refused to give us a receipt. Found out the Super 8 in Gilman is also owned by the same guy that owns the Watseka motel.
