    Dead bugs

BEWARE OF BED BUGS! We booked 6 rooms for various family members at this hotel due to my mother's funeral service in the area. We discovered the bed bugs and immediately notified the front desk. The man came up to our room and proceeded to pick the bed bugs up with his bare hands as he accused us of bringing them to his hotel and he said that none of us would be getting a refund as he promised that everyone would.. Luckily, I booked my room with Expedia and they gave me a full refund. My other family members did NOT get refunded because they booked directly through the hotel. Not only is this place filthy, the employee was rude and creepy. He likes to watch you on video camera and if a customer has a problem, he tells them they aren't welcome back in his establishment. Worst hotel that I have ever stayed at!!!!! Don't walk, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE!!!! 0 star rating if I could!

Where do I start? Check in was quick, but not friendly. I travel for business, and upon handing her my Corporate Lodging Card, nothing but frowns... stayed 9-7-22, AC unplugged so the room was hot on an 85° day. Lamp shades in disrepair and dusty, definable a dated room. TV was about 16" and really no channels. Paint peeling on bathroom ceiling, only 1 body towel, 1 floor towel, 1 washcloth..... carpet had a faint smell, dresser had holes drilled in it, why, I have no clue. Noisy all night in halls... woke up to a cockroach in the bathroom!!!!!! Needless to say I had to empty my travel bag in the parking lot and use my air hose to blow it out. Upon arrival home, left it outside for 2 days. Walking downstairs, greeted by a bum passed out sucking his thumb on the stairs! Breakfast was minimal at best, cold cereal, a few warm yogurts, stale bagels... the coffee was ok tho. In the parking lot was a driver who was on his phone yelling about his diesel tank being drained! ( the bum on the stairs probably should have tipped me off, no security here ) I posted my Google review, only to have the owner rudely reply " we put you on DO NOT RENT list, have problems with you"... ya, because your place is NASTY. I immediately contacted Wyndham to send in my photo proof of my stay. Hopefully, they can get rid of this fake individual. Every negative comment he claims the CUSTOMER was wrong, or "We have no record you stay here".... suuuuuuure.

I have stayed quite a few times, but since it changed owners it has gotten really bad. They made me pay $100 because I lied. Who does that?

My son was heartbroken we left his stuffie behind. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. The pool was great, the s'mores and fire pit were great. The breakfast was great. We loved the seating in the evening to bring dinner back and enjoy at a table near the lobby. The hotel was clean. We will be back again :)

Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.

As the summer season wrapped up on Labor Day weekend, I am so glad I found Thyme for Bed on bedandbreakfast.com when looking for getaways not-too-far from our Chicago home. Bill and Crystal are the new innkeepers at this unique and cozy B&B in the middle of cornfields and far enough away from the city lights that you feel like your in your own little bubbled respite. And when I say bubble, I mean literally, the giant concrete sphere makes that feeling a bit of a unbelievable reality. Upon arrival, Crystal gave us the grand tour of the one-of-a-kind dome, and we got the inside scoop on lots of details about the structure itself. And while we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Pheasant Room, we can't wait to go back to enjoy a stay in the Santa Fe-esque "In Your Dreams" Master Suite. The beautiful gem-walled walk-in shower power base bed, and huge jacuzzi was more than enough to convince us. :-) Of course, the down-to-earth hospitality of Bill and Crystal were the icing on the cake. We left feeling like a part of the family, and with bellies full of homemade yogurt parfait, delicious fresh peach topped french toast tartlet, and cinnamon scones lingering in our taste buds.

They stayed up until we arrived at 10pm and we chatted with the lovely couple for almost an hour after that- just about life! They were so friendly and easy to talk to, and if we had not been so tired we would have loved to continue talking to them over coffer. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the Dome and that it is the probably the safest place in case of any natural disaster or fire. Our stay was short (just one night) but we would love to come back just to have a more relaxing stay and enjoy the beautiful outdoors around the Dome as well. The room was certainly a fun design and everything was super clean. There was coffee, tea, water, and snacks at the ready right outside our room upstairs, available at any time. We had to wake up and leave pretty early (7AM) the next morning to catch our flight from Chicago and Bill & Crystal both woke up early to see us off. They also made us coffee and orange scones (which were delicious) for the road. We really appreciated their closeness and openness- definitely a must see place and a great B&B. We hope to be back! This is not necessarily a negative but there was ALOT of furniture everywhere. I can see some people not liking this because it does feel as if you are literally in someone else's home- but I thought it made it a little more authentic. The more you got to know the owners, the more fitting it felt.
