Four stars for the price, exactly what you'd expect from an inexpensive hotel room. Could've been slightly cleaner in the bathroom

Corporate: stop what you're doing and give these guys a matching 401(k), company car, and a giant gold medal with a holiday to commemorate. Think about that feeling when your grandma's making you soup and you stayed home from school. That was the vibe. We were stranded in Syracuse after a looooong vacay that ended in Covid for all of us, kids included,---and when I say "kids" I mean a 5 & 8 -year-old who "just wanted to go hoooooooome", a.k.a. 3k miles away, after 2 weeks with our in-laws--u do the math. Could've been a hell on earth uation where we were ripping each other's heads off, but these people straight up kept us happy, fed, and didn't treat us like lepers despite the fact that we looked like hot garbage. They even drove us to the local pharmacy to get meds for the kids more than once. Not sure what people think about Hampton, but i used to think: dinky/ kitschy. FAKE NEWS YA'LL. We got better service and care here than I've had at any other resort around the world. These people genuinely cared about us, listened after we got bumped off 2 Flights and treated us like family. I would've had dinner w them. It wasn't just 1-2 people. It was literally everyone who worked there. On top of this we got free breakfast that actually tasted good. Biz services were legit and the team helped by printing things out correctly for me better than FedEx Kinko's does when it didn't work for me and I was under a tight deadline. They even chatted with me when I was about to lose my mind about work stuff. Who does that? So if you're looking for a place for a therapist, a couple new cousins, good breakfast for free, endless coffee that taste good, and legit empathy w/ those giant fluffy comforters, skip the four season--come here. Sidenote, my son left his cell phone there and they called us before we even knew we forgot it + mailed it across the country free of cost. These people would be seated right next to us at our Thanksgiving dinner table if they weren't 3k miles away. Way to be y'all. You made a crappy situation into a warm, comfy hug of a stay when our kids were losing it and we were basically hallucinating elephants due to that awesome COVID fever. Special place in heaven-not just Yelp- for these people.

Recently enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Hampton Inn in Syracuse…read more The hotel itself is squeaky clean and my room was beautifully quiet. The bed in my room wasn't terribly comfortable (it was doable but lots of waking up). Aside from that, my room was quite comfortable. The location is ten to fifteen minutes from downtown Syracuse, so it's relatively convenient if you have a rental car. The parking lot is well lit and arranged. There was nothing to differentiate itself from any other Hampton but I enjoyed a clean and relatively comfortable stay--so, good enough!

Wonderful complimentary breakfast with loads of options. Rooms were tiny but efficient. Wasn't expecting anything special. Evening snacks were available which was nice addition. No hassle auto check-out services. Cons: it's very small and can get booked up fast.

So there are pros and cons to this hotel…read more Pros: Easy parking. A stone's throw to a gas station, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds. Tullys. And the water temperature is HOT. Shower head is good. The cleaning staff were friendly in the hallways. Cons: you don't need to look very closely to see a ton of things that need to be addressed. Stains on the carpet in the room. Lights in the rooms are turned on at the lamp, not by wall switch. (You will walk into a dark room and have to find the lamp.) We wanted the second room so reserved an "executive suite." This means you will be next to the elevator shaft. The lights in the bathrooms are on timers. (Take a fast shower.) Parking will show that handicapped spaces are further away from the entrance than their elite members do. (!) In all fairness, they do say the hotel is being renovated. I am not sure what stage they are in but close to $400 for two nights for this property (non holiday, non weekend, etc) is CRAZY.

During our recent road trip, our family stayed at two different Fairfield Inn & Suite locations and…read morenoted a significant difference in the satisfaction of our stays. For comparison reasons, the other location we were at was the one in Ithaca - but this Syracuse location is our preferred location. Upon entry, you have a "Corner Cafe" for some snacks to purchase, the front desk, and then the breakfast area alongside coffee available all day. The breakfast seating area is about the same size in both hotels but I found the Syracuse location to be more comfortable as it was less cramped and less busy during breakfast hours. On the note of breakfast, the breakfast at the Syracuse location was significantly better. To compare, Syracuse had the following advantages: - Their mini fridge was available at all hours of the day, filled with individual packages of Chobani yogurt, Silk soy products (original and chocolate), milk (whole, 2%, and low fat chocolate), as well as some fruit cups and apple sauce. Versus the Ithaca location which has their fridge turned after breakfast so people couldn't access it, they had less variety and less stock. - Syracuse offers two waffle machines (with timers which were helpful), with a runnier yet fluffier waffle batter. At the Ithaca location, there was a constant line of 2-4 people waiting for the single machine and without the timer, people were often confused about when their waffles would be ready. - Overall, there are more items available at the Syracuse location: hard boiled eggs, Nutella packets, low fat cream cheese, single packets of Delight creamers, bananas, to name a few. - Despite breakfast hours being 6:30-9:30 am, the Syracuse location extends their breakfast for a bit after, keeping their stock, and leaves out stable items (i.e. the mini fridge) out for people to grab n' go versus the Ithaca location which stops stocking items in the last hour hence if you go for breakfast closer to 9 am, there's not much for you to eat. - the Ithaca location was also less organized with their breakfast. People were excited to get some cheese with their eggs, but got disappointed when they opened the container to find a compote of sorts.

This review is regarding the restaurant only. The menu they offer does provide a nice array of food options. From seafood to steaks to burgers, salads, and soups, your choices are pretty vast. I was in the mood for a burger, so I got myself a burger, medium prepared with cheese. About 15 minutes later the burger arrived. It was quite well done and not very tasty. It did come with one wilted piece of lettuce, a tomato about the size of a quarter, and hardly enough cheese to call the cheeseburger. The brioche bun was toasted and very fresh. The french fries are on the better side of french fries. And they give you a lot of them. Though it was highly recommended by the server, I found it to be nothing special.

Deceitful, overpriced, and no longer customer-focused. Hilton is clearly cutting corners…read more We recently stayed for two nights (8/28-8/30) at a cost of more than $850, and our experience was incredibly disappointing. The most frustrating part of our stay was the hotel's questionable parking charge policy. We were charged $15 per day for parking, yet nobody at check-in asked whether we had driven to the hotel, arrived by rideshare, or had been dropped off. No one requested a vehicle description or a license plate number. The charge simply appeared. This felt less like a legitimate parking program and more like a convenient way to tack on extra fees to guests' bills. Adding to the frustration, the parking lot was largely empty during our stay, and Booking.com advertised free parking when we booked. Charging guests for parking without even confirming they have a vehicle is not just poor customer service, it's deceptive. The problems didn't stop there. My husband completed a digital check-in, only for us to arrive and learn that our room was not ready. We sat in the parking lot for nearly an hour. When I went inside to inquire, I was confronted by a group of approximately seven teenagers who appeared to have snuck into the hotel and were letting friends in through alternate entrances. We watched security repeatedly escort them out while they screamed profanities and threatened both me and the security staff. When I informed the front desk, I was casually told that these individuals frequently hang around the hotel and Destiny USA. Ironically, a room became available immediately after I complained, and the front desk admitted that the digital check-in system "doesn't really work well." Despite paying over $850 for two nights, our room was never serviced. Housekeeping never refreshed the coffee supplies, and we were never offered water at the front desk, a standard courtesy we have come to expect from Hilton. After my husband completed the post-stay survey and outlined these concerns, it took two days for Fernando, the Front Office Manager, to respond with a generic acknowledgment that they "understood our disappointment" and had "missed the mark." There was no explanation for the parking charges, no accountability, and no meaningful effort to address any of the issues raised. We have stayed at this property for years, but this visit made it clear that guest experience is no longer a priority. Between the misleading parking charges, poor service, lack of housekeeping, security concerns, and an indifferent management response, this hotel has become a poor value and a poor representation of the Hilton brand. If you're paying premium prices, look elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels that won't charge you questionable fees and then act as though your concerns are an inconvenience.

Then when I called my company's travel service to straighten it out, the used teabag behind the counter berated the woman who called in on my behalf to pay for the reservation. "No! 11:30!" And with that, I take my leave of this place never to return and warn future visitors: sure you're likely to lie awake staring at the ceiling until 430 am because of the livestock Mr. Kindness rented to the unit above but don't expect the common courtesy of the extension of an hour to load out your room and leave. And I'll add the people I've known from Syracuse have been kind, solicitous and friendly to a fault. I'd be shocked if this rude front desk guy was born and raised in Syracuse. And if he can or does even read these comments, I invite him to explain why he refused to extend me the full hour as a courtesy. I doubt it's anything other than his unpleasant shortsightedness Whoops! This cost me 7 minutes of the so mercifully granted 30 minutes. Either by sheer spooky coincidence or someone else at the front desk called. I'd posted the above in a fit of pique. Young, upbeat and clearly intelligible, he kindly suggested: "would you like a little more time to check out?" I immediately refused and said I'd be out at 1130. It cannot be easy running a hotel for the less than well to do. Some might call it a poor man's hotel. The woman checking me in Friday night was as cheerful as could be - a local. The two elderly splayed out with one exhibiting a chest rattling cough would have bern more appropriately housed in the local er but perhaps they sought refuge with others coming to rescue them. The fact is the deal was simple: I paid them $193 for a two-night period to give me refuge, a bed to lie in and a room with a lock. You can't expect luxuries: like neighbors above you that don't stampede until 430 am; like bedspreads without burn holes; like pillows so flimsy and cheap, you can stack all four on top of one another and it doesn't equal one normal pillow; like a bed that was likely purchased in the Carter administration and sags like a willow; and like carpeting that's clean - are those human blood stains. Nope. Refuge. Bed. Locked room. Oh decency and the common courtesy of all staff. Perhaps the linguistically challenged original curmudgeon that triggered all this is simply disagreeable and rude by nature. Fine. Fire him. This is the service industry - not the spit in the eye industry.
