There are also large living and dining rooms. You can walk on paths on the 175 acres and enjoy the 2 Japanese oak baths on the lower level. I couldn't have found a nicer place to share memories and spend time with those close to me and my ex. We sang, cried, enjoyed the baths and shared meals and memories.

They are now a vacation house rental; only one group can occupy the house at a time. We were a group of four who visited Pembroke Springs Retreat in the middle of August. Because we were the only group in the house, we took full advantage of the baths. There's nothing more relaxing than a full soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. They offer one meal per day if you rent all five rooms; we only rented three rooms. But that gave us access to their amazing kitchen. They have fresh mountain water which tasted smoother than any city water and made incredible green tea and coffee. On checking in, we spoke to Lisa over the phone who was very helpful and friendly. Because of COVID, everything was over the phone. But Lisa answered any questions we had immediately. We were also happy to meet some of the dogs. :D

There is parking guaranteed right next to the cottage and it seemed enough for two full-sized vehicles easily. Wi-fi worked great. We loved the wood stove. You don't need it for heating purposes but it was very nice and cozy to sit beside the fire. The cottage has a lot of windows to let in natural light which was enchanting in the morning. When you get there you'll realize the room faces the road but you need to worry as they have great privacy shades that also block any night light. The bathroom actually has a wall heater unit installed too. It was so nice stepping out from the shower into a very cozy bathroom space. We slept amazing. If you are a light sleeper you might consider traveling with a white noise machine or downloading an app for that. There isn't really much noise but the very rare car driving past. It was raining for our stay but there is a nice furnished side deck area that would be nice to eat breakfast on. There is snacks and drinks in the main house which is just a few feet from the cottage. They do also have happy hour where guests can mingle too. My husband and I are introverts so we stayed in but felt welcome to go. Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend staying here.

The owner/manager was very accommodating when our shift resulted in very late returns in the evening. The final morning we did get a chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast; tasty home cooking and great conversation with a very interesting owner and another guest. Scenic vista across the farm and foothills of the Endless Caverns, minutes from the historic New Market battlefield, and ample wildlife to spot while taking that early morning walk. Beds were very comfortable, internet for those that can't drop the devices for a weekend, and an all around great experience. Definitely on our list for a repeat weekend get away.

We searched the web for BnBs in the Shenandoah Valley, and came upon the Rosendale Inn. Seemed like a chill place, and we called and booked the space with a credit card number, but we were told we'd need to pay by check. It seemed a little fishy, and I was prepared for good or bad. We arrived on a dark fall evening, and Paul, the inn owner, met us downstairs and showed us to our rooms. The rooms are named after Virginian Presidents, my wife and I were in the Woodrow Wilson suite, and my parents had the Andrew Jackson suite. We settled into our rooms and then drank wine and played board games in the library, and slept very comfortably while the wind made the house creak a little. The inn is PACKED with history. It was owned by relatives of President Wilson, and a few presidents stayed there as well. Paul told us the whole history in the museum, and all the stages the building went through in its ongoing restoration. He is full of stories, from his own life on 3 continents and all the books he's written. In the morning, we had coffee around the table, and then Paul and his mom made us a nice breakfast, starting with fruit, and then an egg casserole and sausage one day, and french toast the next day. He made hot water for my parents (not coffee drinkers), and he gave us tips for what to do in the valley. Solid BnB, great for relaxing, and killer views of the valley. We hope to be back in a few summers!

The cottages (there are 4 to choose from) are well appointed with everything you need and lack exactly what you don't need in a place like this (phone, tv, or internet). The cottages are in Dyke, VA about 20 minutes from Skyline Drive so it's very easy access for hiking. It's about 45 minutes to Charlottesville where you can shop for groceries, go to dinner, or just hang out if you need to reconnect with the city. The cabins have jacuzzi's, full kitchens, grills, backyards with fire pits, indoor fireplaces and board games. They also have a salt water pool in the main house that you can use (and I recommend after a hike!). Personal touches make this place what it is: they've thought of everything. We also loved the fresh cookies that were dropped off at our house and Chuck and Stew always write us personal notes to welcome us to the house. Looking for privacy? The cabins are secluded and you enter them via a keypad on the door so you don't have to check in or out...just come and go as you wish. I highly recommend this place! And will be back in the fall.

This time we stayed in a premium room with two doubles in the pinnacle building right next to the office and the restaurant so very convenient for breakfast. It's west facing so you get the sunset. Room's a good size with a closet/luggage area outside the bathroom, wood flooring, fridge, a small table with two chairs, and there are also two patio chairs outside the door (upper floor has better view on the balcony - ground floor has a grassy lawn area in front). Aircon doesn't seem to be working but room feels pretty cool with the ceiling fan on. WiFi is pretty much nonexistent - it only seems to work in the office where there is a seating area or maybe the dining room. This time also tried the closest trail - Stony Man - a short walk from the lodge. Not sure why it took us so many visit to hike on this trail - it's a short walk (just an easy 1.6 mile circuit) to the summit with fantastic view of the valley and enough space on the rock outcropping to sit on to enjoy the view.

Breakfast was great, Dinner was inedible. Gift shop is well stocked and service there is great also. This site has so much potential, unfortunately the accommodations are poorly managed and poorly maintained. Would not recommend staying there. There's a fully renovated bed and breakfast cottage with close to a commercial-grade kitchen, huge outdoor patios, an opulent master suite with a master shower that could fit ten people inside. In the basement, it is completely tricked out with a kegerator, cigar humidor, pool table, 80s free-play arcade, projector movie theater, darts, gym, hot shot basketball, and air hockey table. The cottage has a side expansion with more rooms and a pool complete with covered patio. Outside, there is a beautiful meadow and pond for having an outdoor wedding. Then there is an all-new construction barn that serves as a wedding reception venue. Our event had well over 100 guests plus there was room for dancing, a DJ booth, professional photo booth, buffet tables, and a full-service bar. There is even a little red covered bridge lit up at night for doing a sparkler run outside. It's the works.
