BEWARE!!!!!!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET HUNTSVILLE AIRPORT!!!!!! Let me start by saying we PREPAID for 5 vehicles over a 10 day period in 4 different states while on our vacation across the country (4 flights). The absolute WORST customer service experience ever!!!! I dropped off my rental car at the Huntsville, AL airport location to catch my flight back to the east coast where I was to pick up my next PREPAID rental car, only to be told at the Washington DC airport Budget counter that they could not release the PREPAID rental car to me because the car I returned at the Huntsville location (attended 24 hours) had not been checked in by the attendant. The DC location as well as myself tried to call the Huntsville location multiple times, no answer, so I was directed to call customer service and explain. I did and they attempted to call the Huntsville, again no answer! I was told the only thing they could do was report the car MISSING and cancel my PREPAID reservation. After 2.5 hours on the phone I'm still stranded at the airport 3 hours from home. They finally told me that my husband could rent a car on the spot, but it would be at the current price, not the discounted price I originally PREPAID and they would not be able to honor the points on my FastBreak account for the new rental since there was a car reported missing on my account. So it cost me 2.5 hours of my time, extra money and points on my account, because their attendant FAILED to do their job!!! 3 DAYS later I called customer service again as the car was still showing missing, I was put on hold for about 30 mins then received notification that the car was located in the drop off area and was now checked in. The gentleman I spoke with was astounded at the trouble we had been put through, apologized profusely and offered to give me a FULL REFUND of the 3 day Huntsville rental due to all the trouble, time and extra expense it cost me, I agreed, but NEVER received that refund so I contacted customer service again, only to be told they would not honor the original agreed upon compensation. I am beyond disappointed in the service or lack there of and have filed a BBB complaint!!!! read more

I guess you have to give at least one star. They don't even deserve that. The following is my correspondence with this horrible company. They delayed my trip five hours by giving me a car with NO oil in it and it broke down. Then I turn the car in two hours past my due time and they charge me another day!?!?! Then I had just filled up the tank of the broken down car and I returned the new one with the same level of gas as they gave it to me and they charge me an 80.00 refueling charge on top of it. I will gladly spend the 20 to 50 dollars more at hertz or enterprise from now on. I guess it's true the saying you get what you pay for. Except in this case I literally did not. THE CAR BROKE DOWN AND YOU COST ME 5 HOURS OF TIME AND YOU CHARGE ME FOR AN EXTRA DAY BECAUSE I DROPPED OFF 2 HOURS LATE!?!?! 2 hour wait at the counter due to having only 1 person at the counter during 3 redeye flights coming in. system shows reservations and they could have been better prepared. the solo ticket agent seemed to take extra long with each person and was in no hurry to try to get through the line read more

I seldom give a one star rating, but Budget Management, specially corporate management deserve it. On Mar 21 I traveled to Huntsville, AL on Business. Our travel reservation system made my car reservation with Budget. My flight arrived 11 minutes ahead of schedule at 2:30, to the Huntsville airport (HSV). I took my time getting my bags, and when I arrived at the Budget counter there was a sign, Go to the AVIS Counter. Ok, I look to the side and there were about 15 people in line waiting for cars. took forever and a day before I got to the counter, While I was waiting I was commenting with another the long time the service reps were talking with the customers. They were talking about everything. Another traveler commented and was wondering why they don't stop talking and taking care of business. Well I found why when I arrived at the counter almost an hour later. THEY HAD NO CARS. WTF! The cars were been "washed." Really, take a look at the pig stall I got. If this is a clean car, I am afraid to drive one that has not been clean. I will probably have to wear a HAZMAT suit. See the pictures I posted. Normally, when a car company screws up your reservations, you get an upgrade, well they were giving you the first available car. One of my team members who arrive an hour after I did was offered a 12 passenger van. No kidding, a 12 passenger van. Picture this, she is 4'11" driving by herself on a 12 passenger van. Finally, to add insult to injury, when I came back the next day to return the vehicle, I was told they will email me my receipt because their scanners were down. You got to be kidding me. I was directed to the "booth" were they could print the receipt for me. Obviously, budget is on a budget and they don't have funds to buy printer ink. The receipt I got was so light, my executive assistant had to waste one hour with the scanner trying to get a legible scan so she could file my travel voucher. You cannot make this "stuff" up. The front line folks really care, but they have been handed a sh$t sandwich by the corporate leadership and they are trying their best to satisfy the customers. Unfortunately, the management specially Corporate Management don't care for the customers. If they did, they would adjust their over-booking algorithm so this would not happen again. They would have built redundancy in the system. They would ensure their employees have the right tools and supplies to get the job done. My advise to those corporate idiots, If you don't know how to milk this cow, pass me the bucket and I will show you how. Not renting from BUDGET again.. If my travel system puts me in budget again, I will decline it and go with a more expensive but reliable car rental company. read more

I rented a car from Budget to so I could bring a lot of stuff to my daughter for her wedding. The car broke down 1 hour away and I called the emergency road side service and the first 2 agents I spoke with an hour apart stated it would be about 2 hours and they would have a car to us and they would send a text. No text was received by either one. I had to call back and the 3rd person put in the request and sent the text, but again took more time all in all I was stuck at a small gas station for 6 hours and they said all I can refund you is 1 day and the fuel charge. I have health conditions and they said well you could have just left the car. They are the least compassionate people I have talked with. I missed my daughters rehersal dinner because of them and all they said sorry for that inconvenience .... Never rent from them.. would have given 0 star read more

Be careful. Budget's online confirmation somehow bounced me to a different pickup/dropoff location and then if you change or cancel, it's 50 bucks. Many other rental agencies have a free cancellation, so keep that in mind. This policy is pretty dumb. I will definitely not rent from Budget again. read more

I travel in and out of a lot of cities for work, and Hunstville all the time. This Budget is hands down the best and most consistent rental car experience I've had. The staff (Margarita and Trish in particular) are extremely helpful, friendly, and extremely prompt in their service. Happy to continue to bring my business here. read more
