This was by far the worst rental car experience I've ever had and I've rented cars from Enterprise before. The front desk associate was completely incompetent and unhelpful. After arrive to the airport, I proceeded to the rental car counter and attempted to retrieve my rental car. The car, which was confirmed and booked, was ready (cool). When going to inspect the large SUV, I noticed the vehicle had half of its license plate missing. I walked back and told the rental car associate at the counter that it was broken and I wanted a new car. She replies that "it was ok" and "don't worry--it'll be fine." No, it won't be fine when I'm pulled over and ticketed. Get it right the first time. Nevertheless she would not change the vehicle. I canceled the booking and ended up going with another rental car company (their competitor) to the tune of $600. That means lost business for enterprise at the small airport. In the future I will do my best to not to business with enterprise. read more

Worst experience ever. Long time member and platinum member multiple times over ten years. Got my new real id last week and the DMV destroys my old license so stuck with paper copy. I went to this location and the lobby was filled with people. After waiting 15 minutes I was told they had no cars and would not have any for 3 hours. A call from this rental car place would have been great before wasting my time, but that did not happen. Use the airport location instead. read more

I'm solely basing this review on customer service alone, and that's enough for 5 stars. The attendees are extremely professional and polite. They will greet you as soon as you are through the door, shake your hand when it's your turn, and say "I am so-and-so and will be taking care of you today." It's a subtle way of dealing with customers but it speaks volumes. One time, they upgraded my compact car to a luxury mid-size for free (not sure if they just ran out of compacts or not). And other time, the shuttle bus was a little late getting back and my flight was less than an hour away. The manager promptly took it upon herself to shuttle me and my coworker back to the airport personally, and was genuinely happy to do it. I know it's not in an ideal location (off-terminal) but honestly doesn't take any more time than a rental place in the terminal. You still have to drive the distance either yourself or ride in the shuttle so it's the same amount of time. read more

So, first off, walked into the site and it reeked of smoke and Bath & Body Works. Clerk is helping a woman, after 30 minutes of flirting with her after finishing her reservation, he finally asks us what we're there for, and continues with her. Finally, another clerk comes in and asks us what size car we reserved. We never saw her again. The girl finally leaves, so the guy decides to help us. He says we need to pay with a credit card, even though policy says a debit check card is fine. We don't even have a credit card. So then, we downgrade (apparently credit is needed for the premium options) and use our debit card. He then asks to see a pay stub or bill, which no one carries around with them. Pull up my email and show him 10 receipts from utility and other bills before he accepts that. Then, he asks my spouse for his Drivers License, work badge, supervisor name, and three references. Because asking for our first born might have taken longer. Ridiculous amount of hoops to jump through. And then, they make us pay upfront, when the site says several times you won't be charge until you return it, AND they put a $150 hold on our account on top of the payment. Skips these fools, pay the extra $50 for Hertz. Bad service, criminal policies, and awful stench to stay in for hours to convince them to let you get a car. Go to the airport to Avis or Hertz. Skip Enterprise. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Madison, Alabama

This is the only car rental company at Huntsville Airport (HSV) that is not on-site - no counter, no cars, just one sign inside, directing customers to a shuttle. Once outside, there is no sign for the shuttle pickup, although its a small airport with a small curb area - so wait where the hotel shuttles pickup. You should have their phone number handy to ping the shuttle driver for a pickup. As with any car rental offsite, be sure to also have the address and GPS ready since there are no signs to their location anywhere around the airport. My first rental was new Sorrento with 400 miles, and I next swapped for an old Focus with 40K miles. Their cars are hit or miss, but they have a good variety of cars exotic to rental fleets - Challengers and Fiat 500's. The staff and shuttle driver are nice and friendly, which is always a plus. read more

I cancelled a different car reservation when I found one available for my arrival date through Enterprise. I've been a loyal customer for years. My flight was delayed several times and I knew the counter would be closed when I got into the airport so reached out to ask what to do. They said they'd wait as long as 2 hours after close if the flight was delayed. We arrived 20 minutes after close and they were gone. I grabbed an Uber and went to my hotel. I contacted them the next morning saying I'd come and grab the car after work (I'm on a business trip). They said 'sorry, we only hold your reserved car for 12 hours.' Rather than re-arrange a day of meetings,I asked if there were other options. They said no. I said...'then please cancel the reservation and I'll find a car today. Do you have one available?' They said yes and asked what time I could pick it up (I'm not kidding). I said 4. They confirmed. I left my meeting early, and got an Uber back to the Airport to pick up. They said 'we are sorry but there's about a 90 minute wait for a car, and it may be longer.' I'm in the airport (where of course everything is closed) hoping I don't have to Uber my dinner meeting because i needed time to change clothes. If I had known there were no cars ready, I would have just stayed at work or been sitting comfortably in a hotel or at a coffee shop while waiting. As I sit here for the past 45 minutes and counting there's a line of people ahead of me. I was asked to not come in the morning but at 2p since they were booked with not enough cars. The employees are all scattered out, not knowing what the next is doing. No one is consistently manning the ever ringing phones since they are all outside. I don't think they have air it's hot as the dickens in here. There is a black female in here who has black curly hair - think she said her name is Krishelia, who is now moving things along as well as holding down the phones while multitasking and she hasn't missed a beat. Although I've rented from them several times before they are always short on cars. Currently I am waiting for a car to be cleaned, moved from another location or something. I was told I would be picked up. Before I got that far I was first told they don't pick up because of staffing problems. They said they only have 2 people working at the time yet I spoke to three separate people after being placed on hold multiple times. The next excuse was they can not pickup after 4 pm. It was 3:20 at the time. The last excuse was distance. I haven't even told them where I was at yet. Finally they agree to pick me up and a car was on the way at 4pm. Sat outside for over a hour and no show. I call back, after multiple calls and letting the phone ring for 17 mins 32 secs they finally pick up. They immediately placed me on hold and 43 mins later I hung up because it was 30 mins past closing. I complained to the 1800 number and was called back by the regional manager. I was finally picked up at 7 pm and got my rental at the airport. read more

Poor customer service. No logic to whose next in line. The woman at the counter said there wasn't, that we had to know who was in front of us. Other customers complaining while waiting. We were there almost an hour before being taken care of. I would not recommend using this location unless they improve their initial customer reception. read more

The reason why I give this location, top billings is the fact that they help my father a lot when he was visiting out of town. Not only did he rent a sweet ass car, but they drove him from the airport to their location, and then help him find directions to my location by tagging along to make sure he get to the place where I was at. Great customer service. I got the car that I reserved. 2 problems though, 1...I didn't have a utility bill, they accepted a wireless provider bill. I assumed they were checking to make sure the address matched my pay check stub. No, they were checking to see if I had a past due balance. This was absurd in my opinion. My 2nd problem, I reserved a full size car, none were available when I initially came in and I was going to have to get a mini SUV , after processing the paperwork one became available. I feel that if you reserve a car in advance that style should be available. If not, that's will somewhat create a detractor esp. if you do not like mini SUV 's ( in my case). You get what you pay for. I travel on my own business regularly to Huntsville area. Due to availability and budget constraints once in a while, I come to this place to rent. Cars are subpar in maintenance and cleanliness (not how it looks but how it feels to sit in or drive). I had a car where someone must have thrown up and they just cleaned the look of it but never tried to de-odorize it. I was usually on 3-4 week rentals. I couldn't bear it for more than a day. I went back to switch car and the lady that manages the front-desk Katrina kept saying to come back another day for about 2 times and made me wait while she services customers. I bought my own sprays to get rid of the smell but couldn't completely get all of it. Katrina is one of the worst customer service person I have ever seen in my whole life. I have had better luck with couple of other guys but mostly this is the lady that sits in there and just behaves in such a condescending way with customers. I would try to avoid this place in future as much. read more

I arrived at 1215 on a Saturday morning to pick up a van that I made reservations for a week....a $700+ rental. I got to the door and with 5 employees behind the counter And stood behind the locked door being shouted at they are closed. Finally an employee came to the door and opened it to tell me they were closed at 12 and there was nothing that could be done to pick up the vehicle. And said "enterprise is just like a resturant when the doors locked we can not serve anyone." .....really?? Finally I asked for a manager...who was sitting behind the desk, never identifying herself until asked for... She said there was nothing she could do because she had to get out of there. It was not until another employee said they could transfer the rental to another store that was still open that she did anything...wow! Good idea. Thanks for the help finally. Great customer service. I guess I got what I payed for. Staff was friendly, but I had to wait in line for an hour and ten minutes to reach the counter and start the rental paperwork. Then after the paperwork was done there was another wait for them to wash a car even though I had a reservation. The car they provided smelled bad and the inside windows were filthy making it difficult to see. I was going to have this car for a week so I stopped and bought some window cleaner, paper towels and clorox wipes. The interior windows looked like they had never been cleaned. Oily brown film that took several attempts to get clean. Same thing with the Clorox wipes for the other surfaces. Also pulled some chicken nuggets out from under the seat. Yuck! Will look at other options next time. read more

Quentin "Quinn" the Asst Brand Manager of the Madison Enterprise location is a very bright star in the Enterprise Rental car organization. In what otherwise would have been a miserable experience, Quinn worked hard to get me the vehicle reserved for me. .After having my car rammed by a Madison City Dump Truck & waiting a month for the city to get the accident report to me while my car sat at the auto repair, I was finally contacted by the Municipal Insurance company who had reserved a rental car for me. They reserved this vehicle from the Madison Enterprise location. Although getting my reserved car was not the easiest since the airport Enterprise office seems to clean this location out of cars regardless of reservations, the one very bright spot at this location was Quinn, who provided a car when my SUV was not available and called me when he had the SUV ready for me. Unfortunately that morning the airport location had again taken all his vehicles the night before so he was surprised to find no cars on his lot at 8am when I was asked to be there. But NOT HIS FAULT...Quinn assured me he get me the SUV reserved and he did just that that afternoon. He had a beautifully cleaned SUV, in fact 2 of them, so I could choose which one I wanted. He got my minimal paperwork done and got me out of there in literally minutes. Thank you Quinn...you really made a difference in my experience! read more

Would give zero if I could! Returned a truck that was rented for me via insurance company following a wreck in Montgomery. Great service @ Mont. Did a quick walk around at initial. Drove back to Hville and went to this location to exchange for smaller car where upon Madison location points out some imperceptible dent on bumper behind license plate and says we have to file for damage. We were stunned, wife walked out to "see" and couldn't find it. Had to have Rep point it out. Want over $900 to replace bumper. What a scam! This is unbelievable. Have called, left msg asked for a call back. Nothing. Just another letter asking for pymt, included pics of the damage they are claiming of every area on bumper EXCEPT the area they are saying we did. Again....scam IMHO read more

I've rented from this location on six times during this year at the location listed below: Enterprise Rent-A-Car Car Rental 9300 Madison Blvd Madison, AL 35758 Lets begin when you call for pick up, no one answers the phone ever. One issue is when you arrive at your reserved time for picking up the vehicle rental vehicle is not ready for pick up, the customer have to wait for the vehicle to be washed and they bring out to the customer dripping wet. And on one occasion they provided me a vehicle where the interior had the stench of cigarette smoke and wasn't clean. What frustrates the customer the most is the wait time is usually 2 hours or more. These employees at this location are more reactive than proactive, although reservation or made in at advance it seems as though they aren't prepared. Oh, they also ask if the customer their insurance deductible don't understand what concern is that of Enterprise, they should only know I have insurance. read more

Pretty good experience at this office. The only problem was they charged my wife and me for multiple drivers. I think this was simply inattention to detail, as they had both of our drivers licenses (we have different last names). The car return went smoothly. I think their fleet of cars suffers from being shared across multiple companies (Enterprise, Alamo, and National), and locations (this one and the Airport). The first car we got (at the Airport) reeked of cigarettes. The clerk never should have given it to us; but, we should have immediately rejected it. The replacement (from the Madison Blvd office) was better, but you could smell the scent of the Fabreeze they used to cover whatever was worse. Overall, I do want to give very high praise for the Assistant Branch Manager at the Airport location. When we returned the "stinky" car, she cut through all the BS, closed out the charges for the stinky car, and fixed the incorrect multi-driver charge. Of the three Enterprise offices we visited that morning (South Parkway, Madison Blvd, and Airport), she was the star; absolutely professional in helping us. I booked my car weeks in advance, And when I get there they said that the car was unavailable and they would give me a charger for $200 more than my original quoted price. Is that really an accommodation? My trip is tomorrow, and I don't have a car. It's Saturday and most places are closed, this is exactly why I tried to book my car we can advance. I'm seriously done with enterprise. They don't even deserve one star for me. Not only that there was absolutely no other vehicle they could've gave me. Again I say such a inconvenience. I've rented from this Enterprise on numerous occasions. This last rental was, my LAST. I was first told they could not pick me up, then they called to tell me they would pick me up. When I returned and paid, I told them I needed a ride home. I was told they had suspended that program. When I asked how I was supposed to get home, no help was offered. I finally ended up calling a cab and took a $20 ride home. I have already cancelled two future rentals with them. Additionally, I called the corporate and what a debacle that was. I did get a call from the Albany, GA, district rep who informed me Huntsville is out of her region but she would pass my information along to the district rep for this region. Still waiting on his call. Oh, BTW, just booked those two future reservations I cancelled with this Enterprise, to Avis. read more

I just left Enterprise on Madison Blvd. I don't get angry easily so for me to be writing this you know this place is bad. I made my reservation Monday for Thursday pick-up at noon. This was confirmed by a phone call on Wednesday. After a short wait I was helped and taken to the car I would be renting. They ran my credit card outside (which at the time I thought was a really nice idea) and my card was declined. My card had NEVER been declined so I asked him to run it again. It showed declined again... He said once it is declined they can not run it again for 24 hours. I asked them to delete it and try keying in. They could not do that and would not accept a check. I left and called my credit card company who promptly said they could see my card had been read and that there was absolutely no problem on my end. I returned to Enterprise and told them and their answer again was "we have to wait 24 hours to run again". I asked them to cancel my reservation and enter as a new reservation and try again, but they would not. I would drive my car had it not needed new front tires and had no a/c. Tried other rental car companies nearby and they had nothing available. I will not ever use this or any Enterprise car rental company again. There is no excuse for the lack of customer satisfaction on their part. The mistake was on their end and not on mine and they don't even apologize. read more

I needed a car for the weekend bc my car had went out. I was trying to figure out if I wanted to fix mine or get a new one. Chris picked me up and was very helpful but after him the service went downhill. I called Monday to extend and was told one price for the next couple of days. Then I called back Tuesday and was told and charged a completely diff price. Wed and Thursday I didn't even bother to call, which they assumed I kept it and needed it, and was charged. Fri I called to see how to drop it off after hrs and if I could leave it at any other Enterprise and I was told no and I could leave the key in the drop box. I was fine with that. Fri night I dropped the car off and put the key in the box. I was still being charged Sunday! I called Monday and they asked where in the car did I leave the key...what?! In the drop box and how do you miss a whole car!!! I was told they would check into it and give me a call Bk. Which I never received a call or VM. I went into the office and the lady I spoke with to explain everything seemed to have and attitude and didn't want to explain anything. I was told I would get some money back, about $40 which is bs and according to the paperwork I got I was charged 10 days! Where did 3 extra days come from?!!!! I was charged $455 for 10 days and I only had it 7!! I want my money Bk plus the over draft fee I was charged bc of it!! read more
