The guy who accepted our return was not very pleasant and overcharged us. Charged the wrong credit card and said there was a $30 charge for putting gas in the van. This whole experience has been horrible. The worst part is getting ahold of someone in customer service. It's been 3 weeks and no resolution to overcharges. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Pricing started off great. Was moving out of town and the initial price was about 100 bucks cheaper than Uhaul. After making a reservation, I was greeted a few days later with a disgruntled employee. He had an attitude regarding most of my questions, and began becoming rude when I asked about their insurance policy. Instead of dealing with his crappy attitude, I called up Uhaul and they were able to help me instantly for the same price I had agreed on with Budget. Will not use this company again. We believe this store is operating by a family type who are very rude and very unprofessional. They really ruded to their customer, espcially that black lady, Kim (the Owner). She was really impolited and impatient. We so regret that we made the reservation from them and we ended up without a moving truck. We finally had to delay our moving date. After shopping nearby competitors online, Budget happened to have the lowest price for the moving truck I was looking for. Naturally, I chose this company. Pricing was fair, paperwork was quick and painless, there were no hidden fees that weren't disclosed to me, the location is central to both Santa Barbara and Goleta, and the facility was tidy. The truck I was given wasn't new, but it was clean and ran smoothly. I will admit that I was disappointed over the fact that there was literally nowhere to park my car, though. When I asked the gentleman behind the counter where to park, he noted that the particular facility did not offer guest parking and recommended I use the Five Points shopping center, which is a good six blocks away and requires crossing a busy thoroughfare. Less than ideal, for sure. He wasn't particularly friendly, though I did admire the fact that he explained the paperwork and charges to me adequately. Nobody likes the moving process, but we all do at some stage in our lives. I would recommend using Budget for your moving truck needs, though you will certainly want to make sure that you have a friend to drop you off and pick you up. read more

Worst rental experience in my life. The manager was rude and unprofessional!! When I went there to pick up my reserved truck, I was told the size I want was not available and she had a larger one for me. When I asked her if I can think about it for a minute, she said I only had 1 minute to consider this off. When my friend advocated for me, she immediately cancelled my reservation. Made my reservation a week in advance, they called me Friday at 4 pm to say they had to cancel my Sunday reservation because they ran out of trucks. I reserved my moving truck a week ahead of time. A few hours before my due time to pick up the truck I get a call from the manager or owner. She gave this speech about why she could not rent me my 10 truck but I can get you a 16' at the same price because she can pull strings or something. They offer then for same price on the website anytime, I said. I told her I wanted a 10' for the mileage but before finishing she seemed mad or something. It was different when I got there. This Budget Truck Rental location was my choice for getting a vehicle to to move myself to my new place, from one end of Santa Barbara to the other. The rental process went smoothly in terms of making my reservation online, however not so smooth upon my arrival to get the 16' truck. So, why do I nonetheless score this as 5*s? Their customer service effort. When I arrived I learned that a 16' was not available, but they'd give me the larger size in lieu of (20'). Sounds good, except that I was moving out of an apartment on a street, with a driveway, that could not accommodate this size of vehicle. The whole rental problem came about apparently because that the night prior, the Budget website went ahead because of some glitch and took reservations where there were no more vehicles to rent out. The fellows (sorry, can't recall their names) went to work to find me something, options which included my driving to Ventura or Lompoc to pick up trucks. But I didn't have the space hours for that option. Then even called a nearby truck rental competitor (also no availability). Finally, within the hour of my being there with moving help friend, someone pulled in with a 12' truck. I was already getting a discount on my rental, so the Budget fellows couldn't do more in discounting for my inconvenience. But I did get some free mileage and packing blankets, and I was happy with that deal. And I was pretty much able to stay on my move schedule, with an extra truck trip cross town because the size was one smaller than my original plans had prepared for. I'd give this company and location another try any day! read more

I reserved a Budget truck, went to pick it up and my reservation had been canceled because their trucks needed repair. Not only did they not offer any form of good customer service, the lady helping me said: "sorry don't know what to tell you." Now I have to pay for an extra week of storage, AND take time off work to move my stuff. I am one very unhappy customer. read more

Staff was neither professional nor accommodating; I left with the impression they didn't want to be there. As for the truck, don't be fooled by the 'quiet ride cabin' decal on the door. The ride I endured was harsh and brutal. Yes, I know I rented a truck, but the ride paled in comparison to trucks I've rented from Penske. I am a 'one and done' customer. read more

Terrible, I got an account just to write this. Customer service was a joke. The guy in the front trying desperately for the hipster vibe copped an attitude from the start,making it seem like the entire idea of having a customer was a complete inconvenience to his day filled with YouTube checks and 711 runs. U-Haul actually didn't have our truck ready until an hour after our reservation and I would still recommend them over this place. read more
