This is a review of whoever picked up the phone yesterday. I had a question about my transmission and needed some sage advice. Most garages I know play a trick where they say, "Well you're going to have to bring your car in so I can take a look at it." Sometimes that applies and sometimes it doesn't. This was the doesn't time. I just needed a rough estimate on a repair and if such a repair was even worth it, considering I intended to sell the car. The owner (?) simply gave me a few minutes of phone advice and I really appreciated that. Customer waiting area, in a charming house-coverted-to-an-office nexdoor to the shop, was inviting and comfortable for my 90 minute wait. Waiting area had a nice selection of current magazines and car-related coffee table books, not just the last years' grubby assortment of Motor Trend or Car and Driver or Buyers Guides, and some coloring books!. The shop came highly recommended to me by a mechanic I work with whom I really trust. However when I got my truck back it had oily mud ground into the carpet. Not even the paper courtesy mat. Then I got the truck home and noticed some leaks. Turns out they didn't tighten the cooler lines as evidenced by the compression nut hanging on the copper line when I crawled under it. I called and arranged to get it back in to have them tighten the nut and clamp. I was going to let the oily mud incident go until I had the owner on the line and mentioned it to him. I figured if I ran a shop and my guys were doing that to customers , I would want to know. The owners response was, "Yeah well, there's oil back there." No shit bud, it's a trans shop. I'll gladly spend more anywhere else next time the truck needs a rebuilt trans slapped into it. read more

Brian and his team are amazing! Our Cadillac Escalade is approaching 200k miles and the transmission had gone out. We had been praying about what to do, and Brian was the answer to our prayers. We had been quoted a much higher amount to (almost double the price) by our regular auto mechanic to rebuild our transmission so we hesitated doing anything and thought we were just going to sell the car to someone that would fix it. This place attempted to completely rip me off. Bought my car in back in 2019 as I was every now and then getting hesitation when attempting to accelerate. Had Pep Boys check and they said I was getting a Po776 code. They dont do transmissions so recommended this place. So I took it in to have them check. They came back with an estimate. On the estimate it stated the Po776 code meant "This is an internal Transmission Malfunction code and the Transmission will need to be replaced." That is not what that code means. I Googled it before I even took it in there. The estimated cost for a Used Transmission was $2,509. I politely said no thank you and took my car and left. Almost 2 years later I am still running just find with only a hand full of times since then I get the hesitation when attempting to accelerate. I just power the car off to reset the Stuck Off solenoid, and start it right back up and keep it moving. I "may" eventually need a new solenoid but not an entire Transmission. read more

My disabled brother took his car to Budget to be repaired. I told my brother I would pay the bill as he had a stroke and he needed some work done on his Fiat. The work required them to take the manifold/enginecover off. My brother picked up the car after the repairs and the cover was gone. He brought this to the attention of the manager Brian and they would not acknowledge that it was ever there. Now my brother has a car that we paid a lot of money to be repaired with a missing engine cover . Make sure to take pictures of your vehicle before they take it to them. They are claiming the cover was not there but it surely was as my brother checked his oil just prior. It was probably mishandled when removed, the clips were broken and the mechanics do not want to take responsibility for it. read more

I invite anyone to check Rock Auto Parts for a clutch kit, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and flywheel. Long story short the parts cost $170.80 not counting taxes. So what's the shipping you ask? $9.99 for 3days to $29.99 for two days by the end of the day and $125.99 for two days by 8:30 am. I don't know about the quality of work. Hello Yelp world. I contacted Brian through Yelp and made an appointment to service the transmission on a 2006 BMW. He gave me a very reasonable estimate, including parts and labor. I was informed the car would be needed a half day so I scheduled it for my day off. As promised the car was completed and seemed great. I noticed it had a slight hard downshift when coming to a stop. I sent Brian a message on Saturday through the app (not expecting a response till Monday), he responded in minutes to let me know what it most likely was, and asked me to bring it Monday if it didn't resolve itself...apparently it's a programmable transmission and learns as it goes...idk!!! I was able to get it there this morning and he did his magic. There was no additional charge for the service this morning. I highly recommend this business. I will gladly use them again if the need arises. Apparently they do more than transmissions as well. Very affordable, and I would suggest very trustworthy! I can't say enough about my experience at Budget Transmission!! My car had a pesky oil leak and I had taken it back to the place where they had done my oil change several times- they couldn't find the leak! Brian was extremely nice and helpful. My 2010 Minivan had a transmission failure and I had the car towed over to Budget Transmissions II because of the positive (but few) Yelp reviews. In every way this place exceeded my expectations. Brian explained how they would diagnose the transmission and then call me to update on what needs to be done. Turns out that my transmission needed a rebuild and he explained in simple words why and how it could be fixed. He gave me several options and, in the end, I discovered that my car company covered transmission powertrain under their 5 year warranty. Brian was extremely nice and supportive throughout my experience and I would highly recommend any customer needing ASE certified car work give Budget Transmission II a call. It may not be located in the Beverly Hills of San Bernardino but that probably helps them keep overhead low and customer service high. Horrible place, I took my truck in to get a transfer case last year at the price of $2,285 which is extremely high considering immediately my 4x4 did not work I then took it back to them and they said they had to "ADJUST THE LINKAGE" it then worked for a month, after that my 4x4 light would flash on and off which never happend befor I took it to them then my 4lo completely pops out everytime I use it and I've taking it back and they said it's fine, these guys are crooks and they do horrible work with horrible warranty, when you spend 2k on a transfer case it should work flawlessly, I don't see how this place is 4-5 stars there complete idiots robbing you blind and then another thing before I went in I had a small leak at my tranny lines after I got my truck back the spot were the transfer case connects to the transmission just leaks tranny fluid like crazy, overall do not go here there prices suck and so does there work place should be shut down. I purchased a 2000 Ford Ranger brand new, It was my primary vehicle for the first 5 years or so of its life. My daily routine involved driving it to parking storage at Ontario airport on Monday, and picking it up on Friday, as I worked out of state Monday through Friday. After my deployment to Iraq I purchased a second vehicle which became my primary vehicle. The truck is currently 21 years old and has 88k original miles. My son turned 18 in 2018, I took my truck down to this place. I asked the guy to drive it around and give it a once over, as the vacuum had been lost. I knew this because the ac vents would not blow cold and would blow through the defrost vents under engine load. I asked for replacement spark plugs a basic tune up, and an AC service. My intention was to give the truck to my son. The guy charged me over 2,000 dollars and said he had to repack the rear wheel bearings or something. Picked the truck up, still no AC and no vacuum. Truck sat for another 2 years as my son still has not gotten his drivers license. Had to drive it out to Arizona a few times, and finally about three weeks ago a piston seized in the truck. Turns out this truck has a problem with the water pump and timing belt that happens in and around 80k miles where the water pump fails and causes the pistons to seize, cost me another 2,000 dollars to fix. It seems tome when a person brings you a vehicle that has set for over 10 years and asks for it to be "tuned up" and that the vehicle is losing vacuum, a good mechanic would check the knowledge base and fix these problems. Instead he did repairs that were unnecessary (if they were done at all). I do not know if they are incompetent here, or if it is because they got my truck confused with someone else's truck, or what but I feel was i was ripped off. read more

Took in my 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche to get my transmission rebuilt and instrument cluster motors replaced. Spoke to Brian there at Budget Transmission and as part of inspection he ran a checklist on what other things he can service or replace or even make recommendations on where to go and get it fixed. A shop like that is hard to find now a days. Rebuilding the transmission was the reason why I was there and decided to get the motors on the instrument cluster replaced since I've never found the time to do it myself anyway. This was Thursday morning and I was promised a Tuesday delivery. I got a call Monday that the truck was done. Felt good to know that there is shops out there that can over deliver on excellent Custer service. My experience was seamless My truck runs better than the day I drove it off the the Chevrolet dealership. If I could give this place no stars I would! I went in because Triple A recommended this place. Based off the reviews I thought they would be honest people, but they are not. They gave me an estimate for the "services" that supposedly my car need it. I knew my car need it an oil change because it hadn't been done for about a year. They told me my car need it a new spark plug which they gave me an estimate of $225.84 and they did tell me I need it to get my oil changed which they would have charged me $65.73, but to actually drain the oil out and replace with 5 quarts of new oil they wanted to charge me another $288. Obviously, I am not a mechanic, but I do know that an oil change is important so I requested for them to change only my oil and I would be back for the other services. Well they kept giving me the run around because I'm pretty sure they thought I wouldn't go back for the other services. I went back like 3 times trying to get my oil changed and they would always push me off and tell me to come back. I found that to be very unprofessional so I decided not to even go back at all. I would have returned to get the other services done, since again, I am not a mechanic and I don't know any better. I am trusting these people with what they are stating. WELL I AM VERY GLAD I DIDN'T GO BACK AND DIDN'T GET RIPPED OFF!!! Instead of making some money they will be making no money with me because I will not return and will never recommend this place! Customer service is very important to me since that is what I do for a living. No matter how small or big the return may be, SERVICING YOUR CLIENTS ALL THE SAME SHOULD BE THE PRIORITY. I ended up going to an actual honest mechanic that told me my car did not need all the services they were telling me my car need it. This other mechanic changed my oil with quality BMW oil and drained it all for $100. This place wanted to charge me almost $700 for all the services they said I supposedly need it. This is not an honest place so do yourself a favor and don't go with them. I went there for a solenoid chip and they didn't fix the problem instead of fixing the main problem they caused more damage by messing with the fan, causing my van to overheat therefore I had to go to my mechanic to fix their mess. I went again to fix the solenoid chip since i still had that problem and gave them the benefit of the doubt (worst mistake). They didn't fix the problem (again) and told me my van was leaking, it never leaked before. I check my van today and come to find out they ate food in my van, i pop the hood and find two caps taken from my the air conditioner (they tried to take air out for me to come back to them). I got charged the same amount twice $700 for their mistake. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE THEY HAVE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS INCOMPETENT WORKERS read more
