He found the main issue and quoted me a fair number on the spot. When I came back in to do the repairs, he told me he made the room in his calendar for my big amount of work, and got it done quickly. He charged a fair amount given the work ended up being more than initially anticipated, and I felt very happy leaving and my AC in my car is cooling as good as ever. Eddie's has been on my list forever for a review. Came here because I didn't want to drive far to our mechanics shop. The service was friendly, but you could totally tell they like to scam based on how you look. Because hubby called got a quote, then when we showed up together, they changed the price on us. Hubby explained he was the one that just called, and then they were like, "Oh yeah. So we decided not to let them work on our vehicle. There are too many dishonest mechanic shops. Couldn't let them work on it because I don't trust them. So we just drove to our trustworthy mechanic K & V Auto Electric in Pomona instead. Now Eddie's is closed. I took my car to Eddie's Auto Repair last week. I called the day before to see if I could bring my vehicle in and explain what was going on, and when I brought my car in, he verified what I told him. He called me a short time later to tell me why the check engine light was on, explained exactly what I needed and cost for parts and labor. I asked him to also do an oil change and he recommended a couple of other minor things for maintenance. He has fair prices and is transparent about cost and recommendations. He was communicative and will certainly be my go-to mechanic for all things with my car moving forward. (On a side note - for any reviews mentioning his shop is closed down, it is not - you are likely at the wrong building on the wrong side of the complex - his shop is definitely open for business - probably just need to drive around to the other side. Way overpriced. The type of people that take advantage of the public thinking we don't know better. 2 hours and $85 to change out a serpentine belt which I had already purchased and I am providing so $85 for labor and two hours just to release the tensioner. Not recommended to overpay. read more

Went there Before to get my husband's brakes done... joe did a pretty good job and was really nice. I take customer service pretty serious. I later told him that I wanted to get my brakes done and he quoted me $60 as well. During the time he was doing my husbands brakes I told him how everyone was charging different prices and he stated he "it's the same price for all vehicles for the most part. Totally thought it was cool that he wasn't a mechanic that just over charges because of the type of vehicle you have. I came back and he then quoted me $75 for my vehicle since it was an suv and then added additional $10 smooth out my rotors and stated that it was going to be 170. This completely shocked me... for both vehicles I had purchased the parts myself this was being quoted for labor. I mentioned to him you quoted me 60 for my husband for doing the exact same job for all four. He stated he doesn't know why he only charged me $60 it should have been more smh.... plus I gave him a tip ($15)when he did my husband car cause he seemed pretty cool. This was pretty disappointing. Especially for something that would only take 30-45 mins to do and he had other people there helping him which is probably why he was charging those crazy prices. I was in desperate need to find a mechanic to switch out an engine I had bought for my car. I think the guy who worked on my car in late June was named Joe? He failed to tell me the condition of the engine and did a pretty crappy job of installing it because here I am months later dealing with more issues on my car when it should have been fixed. When I asked him to fix my car I asked him to check in all the hoses on my car in which he had told me they were in good condition and now come to find out they're in horrible condition and my radiator hoses are shot out and I'm surprised my car hasn't overheated. I had then, in July, returned to get my AC fixed and I had explained to him that I've tried recharging it before and it didn't work. He told me that it just needs to be recharged and it'll be fine. He recharged my AC and again that was not the case. I'm very upset that I paid $800 for him to fix my car only to have problems with it 3 months later. Just left from their shop...asked a guy there for some prices and he gave some good prices for certain jobs..therefor I said okay be back in 10 min. Come back and some other guy is standing there so I talk to him and ask I want this job done and gives me a while big prices difference... Took my car here to get it properly diagnosed. I tried my hardest to make their job easy by getting underneath it and snapping photos of what I believed to be the problem area, even taking a video to so they can hear the noise it was making. Upon showing all of this to one of Eddie's colleagues as well as informing them of what occurred prior to the problem, I was told they still needed to look underneath it. That's completely understandable, and I appreciated that. It turned out to be what I expected, which was the axle. They quoted me a price. I couldn't do it at the time and even had to pull strings to get money to pay them for looking underneath and telling me what I already knew. I was reminded twice that it's usually a lot more for just looking at the car. I told the owner I'd leave a 5 star Yelp review as a token of my appreciation because yelp is what inspired me to visit his shop. I return the very next day with the money to pay for what was quoted to be met with an irritated demeanor by the owner. I asked for confirmation of on the price quoted by him and his colleague yesterday and he claimed that he couldn't remember what was quoted to me when he was the one who gave his associate the price and diagnosed the problem not even 24 hours ago. They both pretend like they had a hard time remembering and then quoted me $20 more than what they had done initially. This prompted me to hop on here and change my rating because with so much competition out there, the way you make people feel when entrusting them with something as precious as your car is important. If you can't remember a price or the fact that I'm having to sleep in my car at the moment because I fell on hard times, why should I trust you to work on my ride. Others lives are at stake on the road. And not only that, I many not have had the money yesterday, but you never know from who or where they'll have it in less than 24 hours. read more

The brakes on my 2005 Dodge just completely stopped responding. In a panic I called Auto Zone who looked at my car and stated that the back brakes and drums, along with the master cylinder, needed to be replaced, all for the low low price of $800. After hearing the price and needing to be resuscitated, (due to almost dying at the thought of spending a full weeks work on my crappy Dodge Neon) I quickly jumped on Yelp and decided to do some shopping around. After calling a few places I landed on Eddie's Auto Repair, who quoted me less than HALF of what Pep Boys did. They completed the work very quickly and I was happy with my experience. Unfortunately I did have to end up taking my car back twice to their establishment in three days because of some faulty parts, (hence the four star instead of 5) however they were extremely apologetic and both times re-fixed my car quickly and at no additional cost. Took my 05 Ford Expedition because it was misfiring and not running good at all it was losing power and pulling on me when I accelerated. I did some stuff my self like changing the coils but that was not it. Eddie looked it over and told me it was a a vacuum leak from the intake gaskets and also the #4 injector. Long story short, he replaced it all and my truck is now running great. His labor prices are fair compared to others. My mom's car started shaking all of a sudden whenever the car idled at a traffic light or parking lot and the engine light started blinking. The manual said to get it checked right away. Maybe because New Year's was in 2 days, but no one could take the car for a few days. Fortunately, Eddie's Auto Repair showed up on a search. He figured out what it probably was over the phone (ignition coil) and said to come in at 4.
