We called the 800# was put on hold, finally someone said they would call us back. We called the store where we rented the truck from they said they could not help. Finally someone called us back and sent out the repair truck with 2 new tires. 3 hours later we were on our way. When we turned the truck in, we asked if we could get a small credit for our delay and we were told no. I would not use Penske or recommend them. Please check your tires before leaving the lot

When we asked to speak with a manager to discuss the situation, they simply hung up on us. Reserving a vehicle months in advance should provide some confidence that it will actually be available. The storage containers aren't as big as I had hoped--for their 3 bedroom house is not the same as my 3 bedroom house. I switched cars in early 2013, and I have no trailer hitch for my bike rack. This is important because the storage containers don't seem to have enough room for my bike. I might be able to put it on the top of everything and hope that it survives, and it might be fine, but at least, I can save some hassle and get the bike rack put on the car now, so I don't have to pack it. I went into the store, which is on the west side of the road, in the tan and orange building, and the gentleman (he was both courteous and friendly) asked my reason for being there. He was quick to find my car in their database, explained to me about the correct hitch, and that it would take around 30 minutes to install. After the explanation, I asked to schedule, and he was very flexible in finding a time, of course, after the hitch arrived at their location. They did not require payment or a down payment in advance. So, I went back today, just a couple of minutes before the appointment. He had me sign some paperwork, took my key, and gave me the official estimate of 30 minutes and then, that it could take as long as 1 hour. I took a walk, had something to eat, walked back, and they were just finishing. He said that it took just the 30 minutes, as they were able to install it, just as it should be. I had asked him if they would add the bike rack, for an additional fee, and he said that they would do it. When the other person drove the car to the parking lot, the bike rack wasn't on it. I asked again, and he put it on, asked for a tool, and the other person got the tool. He then, tightened it, and didn't ask for more money.

I rented a Penske truck from Home Depot in West Chester, Ohio. They overcharge you by including a…read more$150 deposit (no problem) and "approximating" your mileage charge in advance. My initial charge for a 2 hour rental was over $200, with a promised refund of the difference in actual charge. The initial charge was made in under 1 hour of my rental. 7 days later I am still waiting for the refund to show up on my credit charge. I am making a complaint to the FTC and Consumer Protection Agency. Guess when I plan to rent another Penske truck in the future? Not ever.
