I have studied martial arts since childhood and have had lower back pain since I was a teenager. It was never enough to stop my activities until I started training in weight lifting. My lower back and ability to turn my head left became so bad I stopped training for one month. I had never been to a Chiropractor, but saw videos about people in similar condition as myself getting relief through Chiropractic. Dr. Tom was awesome! I have a rib that likes to pop out of place every now and again and it's pretty painful. My usual chiropractor was out of town but I couldn't wait until he returned. I called my wife's chiropractor and they squeezed me in last minute. I talked with Dr. Tom a few minutes and he confirmed the diagnosis. 30 seconds later and he got my rib back in place so I could breathe again! Dr. Bud is a class act. Nearly every member of my family has visited him at one time or another over the last twenty years. My turn came up a few months ago... I have been battling with plantar fasciitis for over two years. My previous existence of being a trail runner and a marathon runner has been cut down to barely being able to walk some days. I've tried podiatrists, home remedies, yoga, injections, physical therapy, custom orthotics... Nothing worked. Dr. Bud got me x-rayed, and discovered (unlike the last four medical professionals I've visited) that my left leg is an inch shorter than my right. (Insert "changing my name to Ilene" joke here.) this has caused some scoliosis issues, and contributed to a poor gait, which has certainly not helped the way my foot lands when I run, which has screwed up the plantar fascia.... You get the idea. Dr. Bud casted my feet to create new custom orthotics, and carefully measured my hips and legs to determine the proper lift. So now my spine is straight at least. Sure, my feet still hurt. Like, I want to take a hack saw and cut them off. Really, I wish I had a happy ending for this review, but this is real life, not a fairy tale. I hope my feet get better. And come to think of it, now that my back is straight, it hurts enough to go get an adjustment... But I know Dr. Bud will get it all straightened out. Did you see what I did there? I personally got into car accident on May 2019, and since then my back, neck, and right shoulder started to feel pain. I couldn't lift heavy objects and would feel pain on my back if I sit for hours. My neck has been very stiff for a long time. However, I wasn't introduced to a responsible chiropractor and was treated poorly by other chiropractors in Pasadena. I had to try 3 different chiropractors until I found Dr. Bud and his team. Came to Dr. Bud's office starting Feb. 2020, he and his team treated me with sincerity and care. I was assessed throughly on the first day of visit by Dr. Tom. I was treated twice a week for 5 months with both Dr. Bud and Dr. Tom. I could feel a huge difference after the first month of visit. Dr. Bud and Dr. Tom were extremely patient and caring with me. They treat you like you are their family member. After the treatment, they also put me on a clicker on my right shoulder. The clicker helped my shoulder tremendously and I could now do lifting and pull up bars with no problem. I also appreciate that they gave a me a really nice and deep massage once. I also want to mention that the ladies on the counter are very professional. Rose always text me before the day of the visit. With COVID going on, my schedule is always unpredictable. If I had to change my appointment, they will do their best to accommodate you. You don't always get that from other chiropractor office. Dr Tom is a phenomenal chiropractor. He helped my son, a runner, for two years when he began experiencing pain. I started to go here in the beginning of February, and since I am still in treatment for a injury I will hold off for a full review. So far so good. Everyone is very friendly here, I feel very good after my treatments. However what I do want to rave about is their massage therapist Scott. I have been to all kinds of places; everything from deep tissue swedish massage to Thai massage and your relaxation massages. Scotty does go deep into your muscles and works out knots and I have no down time or bruising (I'm a pretty pale white person so any abrasive movements on my skin shows). I would leave a good review in terms of the treatment I received - but Dr Tom was not wearing a mask during my treatment. It was over his mouth but not his nose and during my visit, he talked about how he doesn't believe masks work. Given how desperate I was for pain relief, and the power dynamic with a health provider, I didn't say anything, but after my second visit I sent an email with a complaint and asked to see Dr Bud instead. (I had pre-paid and I wanted to receive the x-ray I had paid for). I went back two more times and I saw Dr Bud, but he would only put his mask on properly when coming into a room with me. When he left the room he would pull it down. During a global pandemic, I fully expect healthcare professionals to have good mask adherence and be professional, especially as the clinic advertises that they follow these precautions. If it weren't for the whole mask fiasco I would be leaving a very different review. For my first visit, Dr. Tom did a very thorough evaluation with x-rays (if you don't want to wear a gown during the x-rays, make sure you don't wear anything with metal). He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. When it came to my x-rays, he explained what he saw and his areas of concern. He took his time to evaluate them before offering me a treatment plan. Have not felt pressured to commit to anything or do something I was not comfortable with. Seems like this office has been in business for a very long time. I saw Dr. Surnock. He was young but is really smart and enthusiastic about his field. I changed employers about 1 year after starting treatment with this practice. My employers both used BCBS for their health provider, but just to be on the safe side I spoke with the practice's billing department to confirm whether or not my deductible changed and they assured me there was no change. About 6 months later the front clerk tried to charge me more than what my deductible should have been and I inquired into it. They were unable to give me any answer, so I ended up having to call my insurance company, track down a supervisor who then explained to me that the deductible was out of network and that when I switched employers that the deductible had, in fact, INCREASED. I then tried to professionally explain my situation to not only the practice's accounting person, but the owner himself who was rude, unprofessional and completely not understanding. I was blown away with how rude he was, especially after being a patient for nearly 2 years. I zeroed out my balance and will NEVER be using them again. It's a shame because they could have had a lifelong patient and referrals from me. I strongly recommend seeking out another practice, so you can avoid any potential issues with these people. read more

Some days, after hot compresses and home massages, we throw up our hands and say, "We gotta make an appointment with Dr. Bud." Dr. Bud is a great chiropractor with a very gentle touch.
