Our family has been seeing Dr. Cheung for the last two years. Our visits are primarily for my teenagers who play beach and indoor volleyball competitively. Injuries happen and when they do, Dr. Cheung's office is incredibly accommodating to get us in, sometimes same day. Dr cheung pulled me out of a crazy episode where I could barely open my jaw or have much range of motion after an extremely long dental visit. I actually intended to see a sports medicine surgeon so I could get an MRI but I accidentally ended up at Dr. Cheung's office - he's a sports medicine chiro - and was like, OK I'm here I might as well get an adjustment. Chiropractor Cheung is incredible. I've been coming over the last few months in preparation for an 8 day hike in Patagonia and the LA 2025 marathon. He provided the necessary adjustments and the exercises to be able to tackle both events. Running up to the marathon I scheduled various appointments including, one right before my marathon since I was feeling some knee pain and another after since I could barely move. He got me ready to finish the marathon in 4:13hrs (less than my 4:20hr target). I put off finding a chiropractor for months because I didn't have any recommendations and was worried about the potential damage from going to the wrong practice. Another local practice did a promo with my yoga studio, so I went in for a consult, but they refused to do an adjustment even though I was in pain. Instead they made me come in twice only to upsell me with a 3-mo process where I'd have to come in 3x a week. I understand these things take time, but I didn't like that they focused on the money more than treating the patient, so I decided to just deal with the pain. Finally I couldn't take the pain anymore and reverted to reading through all the yelp reviews since everyone has 5 stars. I decided on Dr. Cheung's practice based on the reviews. As an added bonus, they were also willing to squeeze me in on short notice, on a Saturday no less. I immediately told Dr. Cheung that I didn't want to be pressured into a prolonged treatment, and he completely understood and did a full adjustment on my first visit. I could tell that he was skilled based on that initial adjustment - he first used a heat lamp to loosen up my muscles then massaged my back before aligning my spine, neck and hips. He has a gentle touch, takes his time and doesn't force anything. He did suggest that I go in for a few more readjustments until my spine was more re-aligned. I liked his patient-first mentality, so I've continued to come in once every few weeks. I'm seeing major improvement in my back & neck pain. The simple exercises Dr. Cheung gave me to do at home have helped resolve the residual muscle pain from the prolonged misalignment as well.
