After Hunter and his crew finished their work, that completely changed. They carefully pruned, limbed, and removed a few smaller trees that were blocking the view, and now we can see Mount Rainier in all its glory. Hunter was incredibly meticulous. He spent a great deal of time studying the view, looking at the mountain, and determining exactly which trees needed to be trimmed and how far back they should go. Everything was done with care, patience, and purpose. He listened to what we wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions, and clearly takes tremendous pride in his work. The transformation is incredible. We can now sit outside on our porch or at our table in the middle of the yard, enjoy a meal, and take in the majestic beauty of Mount Rainier. My wife can even enjoy the view from her greenhouse. Looking back, we both agree we should have done this years ago. Hunter's crew was professional, courteous, hardworking, and highly skilled. They had all the right equipment, worked safely and efficiently, and treated our property with care and respect from start to finish. Hunter's father did outstanding work for us many years ago, and it's wonderful to see that same commitment to quality carried on by the next generation. Not sure what happened or what I did to alienate these people but they were very untrusting and…read moreconcerned that I would not pay their bill. I was treated like a deadbeat with a zero credit score. (It is actually over 800.) To begin, I was told the diagnosis would cost $199 but would be applied toward the bill if they did the job, which I intended to have them do. They guy came out, looked at my system for about 30 seconds, and told me I had a leaking irrigation valve (which was already obvious to me). He said the system was old and there were other valves ready to fail as well. We agreed that I should just replace them all. I asked for an estimate and he told me he would have one either by phone or email by the end of the day. There was no request for payment so I assumed we would just roll it into the bill for the job. Two days later, I called to ask about the estimate. A lady said they guy was too busy to write it up but she would email me one by the end of the day. Two days after that I sent an email asking about the estimate I still had not received. She said it would be around $1200. I said that I would accept that and to put me on the schedule and send a written version of the estimate. That is when they seemed to get defensive. They said I would need to pay them 50% of the estimate (which I still did not have in writing) before they would even put me on the schedule. After this, and the lack of a timely response earlier, I was getting a little leary of their business. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, however this is not my first rodeo, I told her I would pay the 50% when they showed up to do the job. They did not reply at all after that except to send a bill for the estimate. Not only did they demand payment THAT DAY or face a 35% late fee, but they dated the bill FOUR DAYS prior! I'd had enough of this company by then. I drove a check for the "inspection" over to their "office" and hand delivered it. I would NEVER do business with people who treat customers like this. Good luck if you do. In the end, I think they just wanted a quick buck doing the "inspection" and never intended to do the work. Sad.
