Although it's outside the main area of eateries around the docks, I decided to give it a try. Before leaving my room, I perused the menu, and on my walk over, I debated my choices: maybe a hot dog with homemade slaw, or a Southwest burger with chipotle sauce, bacon, and pepper jack cheese. Hmmm... Upon arrival, I asked for a menu, and the bartender slapped a wrinkled one on the bar. The first thing I saw was the "Sloppy Scotty," which the menu proclaimed, "It's what put us on the map!" I immediately knew that was what I had to have. I ordered a Maker's Mark with ginger ale, in which the Maker's Mark was liberally poured, and I sat down to await my meal. Service was quick, and when presented with my meal, the first thing I noted was that the hot dog bun was toasted on the outside. It was still a hot dog bun, but the outside kind of looked like Texas toast--just thinner--with Joe's signature "Sloppy Sauce" applied liberally on top, intermixed with mozzarella cheese, and topped with onions. It looked fantastic and tasted even better. It was absolutely delicious. I had an extra Maker's Mark just for good measure and was presented with a $27 bill. The night before, at a different restaurant, I had a couple of beers and a medium-sized perch plate, which was good but cost me $50. Do yourself a favor: if you find yourself on PIB, drop by the unassuming Joe's Bar and Restaurant to grab a bite. You won't be disappointed.

It was a Buffalo Chicken Sub and the menu listed Chicken Strips, Hot Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Blue Cheese Crumbles, Tomato, Ranch, and Lettuce. I requested to leave off all except the chicken, mozzarella and hot sauce, but it came out with bacon and onion. Otherwise a nice experience trying a new place.

The bouncer turned to the other bouncer and asked him if it were true I asked to leave and he said I didnt say I was going to come back - which is not just not true. Lastly the bouncer said this was already my second warning because I was apparently already told about the re-entry fee when I left with "some guy" minutes prior. I had not left before this. I told him this and he swore he saw me. It just seems a bit ridiculous. It is $5. I was accused of lying. Had I known about this rule and been told about it, I wouldn't have a complaint. It is the principle of being accused of lying. In the end, they let me in without paying the re-entry fee so thank you but it definitely killed the vibe and the whole thing seemed extremely petty. My boyfriend pointed out there was another girl who kind of looked like me and was wearing a green top same as me which might be why the bouncer claimed he saw me leaving earlier but regardless this was completely ridiculous. Its just a shame because again it is a cute fun bar but the whole re-entry fee and being accused of lying put a really bad taste in our mouths.

Andy was immediately rude to my two friends who happen to be a lesbian couple. Refused to serve them. We reluctantly left, and the people on the front patio immediately jumped into action. Some of them work there from what we could tell, and others are locals who jumped at the chance to display their bigotry. One girl in what looked like a badly placed black wig was making lewd gestures to my friends about being lesbians, another dude said "It's a free country WE CAN DO THIS NOW!!!", and another lady called one of my friends a c**t after telling her "this bar isn't a place for your kind". As we were walking away, "Wig", yelled to me "I bet you're gonna get pegged by them tonight!" Thinking she was so hilarious getting the last word in. Utterly disgraceful locals feeling emboldened by a case that represents the minority of this country. I would suggest anyone who is a member of the LGBTQ community (or friends/family of them) steer absolutely clear if this bar. They will claim you are "too drunk to serve with bloodshot eyes" but once you push back because you are not that, they show their true colors that it's because they don't want to serve people who happen to be LGBTQ.
