We haven't had an opportunity to visit Tackle Box 2 in a hot minute, but today we happened to make the trip yo Fremont, so we stopped in for a late lunch. Even at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, it was busy. Got even busier by the time we finished eating. We split a pound of perch with fries and Cole Slaw. Probably more than what we should've consumed, but it was better than good! The perch is very lightly battered and done to perfection. I also enjoy the cole slaw. The ambiance? Wow! Eclectic and ever evolving is the only way to put it. Every time you visit, there is something new to look at. Most definitely keeps your eyes busy. A very relaxed atmosphere on the waterfront in Fremont. A go-to for a great perch dinner. They also have fantastic frog legs - just sayin'... The full bar is also a bonus for the patrons to have a few libations during their time at Tackle Box 2.

Neat and quirky little place. Service was good and I highly recommend the perch. And the fries were delicious. Had this neat little truck/boat out front on the water

Fried perch and fresh cut fries. We ordered a pound of perch with a side of fries and coleslaw. The slaw was onion heavy which I'm not a fan of. The fries were skin on, fresh cut and came without salt. The perch was crisp, hot and had a good texture and taste. The interior of the place is eclectic but very clean. Waitress was great! Super friendly and jovial. We went on a weekday but i can only assume weekends are gonna be the busy time.

Perch, slaw and fries! Portions are legit!

Very cool place and the food was very good, not amazing but the service and environment make for a cool experience! Also, prices are more than fair!

    Very unique collection

Some of the best Lake Erie perch I've had! Great out of the way place on the water in Fremont OH. Very eclectic collection of Americana that makes this place special. The servers were very accommodating and this rustic place is accessible for anyone with mobility issues. I loved the vibe and lived my terrific Lake Erie perch. On this trip I had a perch sandwich up along the lake near Port Clinton. But I have to say this perch at Tacklebox 2 in Fremont was better. I highly recommend this unique place if you are looking for hidden gem.

The fish at tackle box 2 is always excellent. The inside is overloaded with every decoration and collectible you can think of. It has a key west vibe with the decor and the view of the water. Be prepared to wait if they're busy, but it's worth it. The service, ehhhh it's hit or miss, you just overlook it.

Sitting outside at The Tackle Box and a train goes across the bridge.

No frills. Eclectic decor and great fish. I had the walleye and it was excellent. Looking for a time to get back for their Perch.

As a Pescetarian in Northeast Ohio I have meaning to try Jolly Roger Seafood House for a while,…read morewell I finally got there and the big question is why I waited so long. Jolly Roger is located in Port Clinton right on Lake Erie; I was expecting something ordinary or just a bit dated and boy was I wrong. The building is very modern and clean from the outside, white and angular with big windows. Inside white walls, rough hewn wooden tables and just the right amount of decor makes for a modern seaside feel, casual but also classy. The setup is fast casual, you order and pay up front at the counter, get a number for your table and then get your own drink at the service station. The menu is understandably very heavy on fish and seafood with a couple of other items. While there are the expected fried fish meals, but also oysters, shrimp and salmon, salads and even some tacos. The reason I came was of course for the fried fish, I decided on the Perch and Chips, which is $18. I grabbed some water, hot sauce and lemon and settled onto a table. The meal was brought out fresh and hot by a food runner in a couple of minutes. The meal was 4 nice sized perch fillets on top of a generous portion of fresh waffle fried potatoes with a side of tarter sauce. The fish were excellent, fresh and perfectly fried with a nice crispy cornmeal crust around the delicately fish; moist with a slight sweetness and perfect texture. The waffle fries were exceptional, fried to a crisp outside and tasty inside; usually fries at a seafood place are an afterthought, here they actually are well worth getting and eating. Even the tarter sauce was very nice, nothing special but creamy with a nice pickle contrast to add a little extra flavor. Usually when I see a place that has been around this long and has great reviews I am a bit let down when I give them a try; Jolly Rogers Seafood House exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Although set up as a fast casual restaurant with a typical fried seafood menu, the actual restaurant feels more upscale and modern with a great inside and a very nice patio looking out onto Lake Erie. The food is not cutting edge, but it is expertly prepared and delicious. Prices are moderate with large portions for your money. Some of the best fried perch and waffle fries I have had. I will be back any time I am in the area, a very high recommendation as long as you are looking for fish or seafood, go and enjoy.

Really, really good food! The Perch was some of the best I've ever had. Mushrooms were great too…read more The only knock I have is the waffle fries were like warm. I LOVE waffle fries, but they have to be hot. It was also nice to see they had a selection of beers. Food came out fast. I would not hesitate to return.
