Very appreciative of Ken and the jeweler team for the wonderful and speedy service! I'll never go anywhere else!

I've made various purchases along the way. I looked at my ring recently an realized that the head that held my center stone needed to be replaced. Over the years it wore out much like the tires on a car. I stopped in to have them do that work for me. The service was very polite and efficient. The knowledgable staff has been the same ,I assume because it's a family group. The repairs are done on site in the workshop that you can see from the show room. They have at least six jewelers/repairmen full time there. My ring was ready a week from drop off. I picked it up and again the service was polite and welcoming. I noticed later that there was something that needed an adjustment and I broke my pearl necklace, so I stopped back. They were very happy to do the adjustment and restring my pearls and the turn around was very efficient. Every staff member each time was friendly and helpful. Even when it was busy or couples got engaged there. It's a joy to have a local family business here in a time of chains and on line shopping. If you need something they probably have it , they can make it, repair it or order it. And they are so close !!!

Turnaround time is MONTHS, not weeks or days. 3 months later and I'm STILL waiting for a seemingly…read moresimple heel and/or sole repair job. Unless you have an endless supply of shoes/boots, I'd recommend choosing a place that can at least do the required repair work in a resonable amount of time. Nice people, but they need to improve punctuality of product turnaround.

I have a few pairs of Louboutins, and being in Buffalo, that means no one else is able to "vibram"…read morethe bottom (putting on rubber sole bottoms to prevent slipping) and still retain the special red color. I was told by a friend that Transitown did them and has the red color paint to match the Louboutin red bottoms so that they look nice. I've brought 3 pairs there so far and they have done a pretty good job. My problem with this place is that they seem to always jack up the prices when it's a pair of expensive shoes. I know they jack up the prices for Louboutins, because they require a special color etc., that's fine. But when I have brought other shoes there to get the rubber bottoms put on - I would get one price over the phone (because i intentionally do not say what brand they are, i simply describe them as black leather flats, or purple leather wedges etc). The first time I questioned it, they explained it away that since they were louboutins, they cost more because of the special paint etc. OK... fine. The second time I questioned it, they said that whoever took in my order misquoted me, hmmm ok. Well, last week I took 3 pairs of shoes there (a pair of Chanel flats, a pair of Louis Vuitton pumps, and a pair of Ferragamo wedges). I called ahead to get a quote, and was quoted $30/pair for the rubber bottoms (black and nude, no special colors), with $10 for waterproofing. So I figure, $90 for the vibram/rubber bottoms, and $20 for waterproofing since only 2 pairs needed waterproofing. So it should have been $110 total. But nope, when I showed up today I was charged $130. I just paid without questioning anything and left. 3 strikes and they're OUT. I would rather ship my shoes somewhere else and know the costs up front.
