The Post Office has such a bad reputation for employees being miserable, you'd think they'd be trying to change that! But nope. The Good: they have a 24-hour lobby where you can pack and send packages. Also good, is that their Main office with staff has fairly decent hours. Better than others, i believe. For example on Saturday they're open till 3pm, which is fabulous.

I thought Schaumburg was the tits... but holy moly this one makes me think Palatine (the town or is it the Township of all Palatine Districts) is very well funded! This place is gorgeous down to the structure and even the bathrooms... fully accessible and top tier with those weird new sinks with water and dryers in one nozzle. Great setup for PCs and printers and study rooms... they even have notary services... only bad thing is I had to go back to Chase because they dont do real estate documents. The waiting areas are ample and clean. The protocol is easy, go get a registration card provide income evidence and then grab a number. The convenience is in the barcoded card that they make. Unlike some other food pantries which require proof of address and income every time you go in here they only need it once a year. The first visit takes a while due to the papers so allow up to 2 hours. Average subsequent visits will take about an hour at the most on a busy day. They have a good variety of foods and typically have some sort of fish available which is great for people who aren't into meat. If you are in need of food aide this is a good pantry to UPDATE: THURSDAY MARCH 19 2020 Due to COVID19 the food pantry is now appointment only, you can call ahead to schedule a pickup window at their main number. On the day before they'll call you to go thru the pantry list and the next day you arrive during your pickup window and call the main number to let them know you are there. Upon phone call they immediately bring out the groceries and put them in your trunk for you. This contactless method is being employed by many pantries now. Eventual online ordering is planned. COVID19 has taught us that people are laggy to adopt new things like curbside pickup and pickup in general but when forced to use it they love it. Being able to poke around the food, sure it was nice, but damn it was slow. From pulling up to pulling away it was less than 10 minutes. Fastest food pantry visit ever!

Our postal carrier necessitated my visit to the post office. Once I arrived, I had to wait in line. When I got to the front of the line, my issue was resolved in a timely manner.
