    Nail fungus

My Wife who does not have Yelp asked me to post this. She went to get gel-x and they turned out horrible. They were very thick (chunky). I had to go for times sake but returned three days later to get them taken off and had a new set put on. The manager was shocked how bad my nails were and surprised based off the tech who did this so they took care of this cost for me, thankfully. Because they made good on that I went back when I was due and had the nails removed and opted for gel manicure. New nails were on for one day and started to bubble. I was out of town so nothing I could do until I returned four days later. I then decided to just have them removed and the tech informed me I have nail fungus from washing my hands too much. I have maintained the same hygiene practices my entire adult life and I think the problem is with their practices. I won't be back.

Ben does an amazing job! Love it here. Service is great they make you feel so welcome.

Buffalo nail spa is an amazing place to get your nails done. Ben does my nails. He is so kind and makes you feel so welcome. The whole staff make sure that you are cared for and happy with your nails.

I got a manicure and pedicure along with contracting a nasty fungal infection on 5 of my finger nails and 3 of my toes. I am in excruciating pain as if small razzor like pieces of glass are coming out of my finger tips. I have a warm itchy sensation with puss all over my nail beds. I know this is groosum to read but beware of this salon. I went in to their salon to tell them about my infection and request my money back. They basically chased me out and denied I got the infection from them. It was awful and humiliating. I am also now on antibiotic slowly healing.

Amazing! Awesome! I have been twice so far and I've never loved my nails more. Nini has done my acrylics both times and they're so beautiful!

The service was exceptional! Everything was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly! Lisa did an outstanding job on my nails and the prices were very reasonable. The owner was also very welcoming! I'll definitely be returning!

Made an appointment but no one was available. The website shouldn't take appointments if they aren't honored

First, I…read morewould like to say as an eyebrow artist the senior esthetician is great, she does a good job and is very personable so this review doesn't reflect the actual service but the spa. I have been going to The W Spa whenever I am in town since it was originally called The Waxing Studio, so we'll over 10 years. I am currently home and needed a waxing service so I booked my appointment. When I called to make my appointment, never once was I informed that I was being booked with a senior esthetician. Being booked with the senior esthetician means there is a price difference for brows, which should be communicated to the customer. Had I known I would've asked for someone else due to the price difference ($35 vs $28). I booked an eyebrow and a Brazilian which I've been having done for awhile. Brazilian is normally everything but for some reason they only do the front and charge you an extra $15 for the back, which is ridiculous for 4 strips of wax. Also, I've been having a Brazilian for well over 10 years and this is the first place I've been to that charges you for the back which is actually supposed to be part of a Brazilian wax. So I'm in the middle of my wax and she stopped the Brazilian after only doing the front area, when I inquired about the back she's like "oh that's an Australian". In my head I'm like wtf is an Australian but whatever I finished the wax (no mention of the price difference). After my appointment I googled what an Australian wax is and lone behold it doesn't exist. If you see the photo I included, a Brazilian is front and back. This "Australian" is a bs excuse for them to charge you extra money. Now mind you I have been living in California for four years...my esthetician charges $55 for a Brazilian, which includes front and back as it should and then $30 for a new brow and $25 for a touch up. When I went to check out, I expressed my displeasure and the person at the front desk didn't do anything in an attempt to make it right. So not only was I charged $35 for an eyebrow, I was also charged an extra $15 for an Australian. So what normally would be an $80 appointment suddenly turned into a $113 appointment. OH and the kicker is they're still using talc powder (aka baby powder) for the Brazilian/Bikini/Australian waxes despite the fact that it's known to cause cervical cancer. This is also something in the years I've been waxed that I have never had an esthetician do. They really need to look at how they do their waxing process because using talc powder is outdated. So if you've made it this far great, hopefully this makes you question if you want a service from them. I certainly won't be going back, they over charge and there is no customer service experience. There was nothing about this experience that made me want to come back or recommend them to a person I know. Shame too because they used to be a great place to go.

I wanted to reschedule with her next, but our schedules just didn't align, so I have been seeing Jenna ever since. I love seeing her! As a longtime European Wax Center customer, it's time to look elsewhere. I've been a member at this…read morelocation since 2017, and the service and EWC products overall have gone down substantially--to the point I attended the Main Street location for services (ultimately the same). I just waited 15 minutes for a service (eyebrows) that takes the same amount of time. While I'm appreciative of the $10 credit towards products after inquiring at 3pm why I'm still waiting when my appointment was at 2:45pm, the end result is no longer worth the investment. I only had one service left (today) on my wax pass and will go to a technician who specializes in eyebrows. What I got today was wasn't bad but meh. One significant difference I've noticed over the years is how quickly hair grows back (for eyebrows and south of the border). With a company that's releasing 50 different "slow growth" products under the sun, this makes sense to keep customers coming back for waxes and products to reduce growth. (Not seeing the result you want? Buy more products.) Kudos to those who do see results, but I've body washed and polished. Hasn't worked for me, and one of the products might've caused a rash. The *biggest* issue I have with EWC as a whole is that, for south of the border waxes, waxers don't get all of the hair which requires you to come back in for a touch-up appointment. (If you didn't know, you have five-ish days to rebook an appointment for missed hair at no cost. Not sure how or if this is advertised. I only found out last year.) And I'm not talking about someone popping in with hair as thick as a hedges. Without fail, there's almost always a small section that was missed or not thoroughly waxed I find when I get home. (I've had different EWC waxers at different locations. No one gave me a mirror to inspect.) It happened last month at this location and previously at the Main Street location before that. Having to schedule touch-ups after waxing gets annoying. There's a limited window to do so, and if the service did what it needed to do in the first place, we could all save time wasted redoing the entire appointment. *Another* issue I have is that waxers have but so many times they can wax an area. So if they wax your leg, and after the number EWC says is the limit, you have to come back for a touch-up. One waxer at this location last year tried to *tweeze* remaining hair on my cooch before she told me about the touch-up appointments. There wasn't a chance in this world I was sitting through that! My hair (*with* "slow growth" products) almost always grows back less than a week after my wax. What's funny is I started purchasing an at-home wax kit two months ago to give myself a south of the border wax. Not only did it last longer than EWC, but it was a third of the price. Also echoing another review of how rushed waxers get. Speaking to some waxers, their schedules are packed, which means stronger chances to wax off something by mistake or not do the best job. The turnover at EWC is WILD! There was a time not too long ago when the person I saw was gone, so I got someone else. That someone else left (for whatever reason), so there was someone else. Not the same as it used to be, so it's time to move on.
