At showers- near pool and gravel walking path. Close to glamping tents.

Beautiful and CLEAN resort! Our glamping tent was so comfortable - it included electricity and a fridge! It was fun to explore on our trip then return to jump in the pool and relax in the hot tub. Showers are individual and private - again very clean. Cherry on top- order food and drink poolside & clubhouse sold ice and other necessities! We felt completely taken care of! 10/10

First off the place has undeniably great views. We had our two pups with us so we walked the property a few times. It's only 20 min from all the key stuff to see in the area The cabin was super cute. The bed was extremely comfy and one morning I woke to 3 deer eating breakfast outside our bedroom window which was a great way to start the day. The bathroom and tub were perfect size. My husband made use of the kitchenette are and the fire pit. We traveled with a pizza stone and we were able to make pizzas over the fire pit. The staff was very nice and brought us a grate because our fire pit didn't already have one. We didn't use the pool but it was open until 10 for adults so you can swim under the stairs. Lastly we did some shopping at the store and the stuff is a bit pricy but super cute.

We stayed two nights in one of the teepees. Should have stayed more, we loved it so much! There was a queen and a twin bed. Linens and fire pit were provided. There was a small dresser, lamps and one electric outlet. There are many options for bathrooms and laundry. All close by. Other reviews mentioned it was loud due to the highway close but we didn't find that to be the case. It was very peaceful. The teepees are next to the store, where you can get free, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and popcorn. Everyone in the store was very nice and provided a lot of information on sores in the area. The pools were spotless and had a great view. This was the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. Great job to all!

    Inside Eagle Tee Pee

Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in Custer, SD is a great campground with choices for all kinds of travel. RV, cabins, glamming tents, and tee pees. We stayed in a tee pee for the experience. Unfortunately the weather turned out much colder than expected after a lot of rain this week. Even with a small floor heater it got down to 49 degrees in the tee pee. We brought extra blankets and enjoyed the experience. It was clean and comfortable. The bath house is clean and close. They have a huge playground, two pools, and a hot tub.

    Rainbow over Buffalo Ridge

We looked into a variety of accommodations for our recent stay in Custer and I couldn't be more thrilled that we chose Buffalo Ridge! We stayed in a luxury cabin but they have lots of other options at a variety of price points. We were there before high season started and were lucky to get to peek at the canvas platform tents, teepees and new treehouses! They all look so cute and cozy! Beds were very comfortable and our cabin was super clean. It was too chilly to use the pool but it looked very inviting. Since we weren't cooking our meals, we didn't take advantage of those types of items in the general store but did buy some really cute jewelry! The staff was friendly and helpful. They definitely wanted to make sure our visit was amazing! I have already recommended to friends and family.

    Nice and clean

Amazing place We rented the king teepee It was even better than we thought it would be

Pic taken from the front of my RV, believe it or not: that is another site closer to the bathhouse you are also looking at! "OVERFLOW"

Three stars is a little high, but two were a little too low. Gripes: a $100+ nightly rate for a gravel site + pad that was on top of the Laundry & Bath house. No usable internet for any length of time. I am writing this review with cellular data on my phone because I was worn-out trying to connect to their Wi-Fi which is sketchy at best. (For the entire week!) I did ask for a "long deluxe pull through" when I made the reservation and I saw some great ones while here, but the people who won the lottery came & went so I figured they were regular locals, "Let's give the bad site to a non local!" We will not be back, seems like a great place for families with children but not for an old grouchy camper who has different needs than a pool & playground. It is a well maintained campground, now I know I should have asked for a site in the woods (Best way to describe it) then added: LONG!

The best part of our stay was the staff. They waited a few minutes after closing to show us to our site. Who does that?!? They're the friendliest folks I've come across while camping and trust me, we've been to several RV campgrounds. The grounds are perfectly manicured and clean. RV sites are a little tight and close, but who cares? We came to site see, not hang out at RV. Tent camping area is beautiful. Campers were quiet and kept to themselves. No unruly neighbors or loud music. We'll stay here again on our next trip to Custer. And trust me there will be another trip to Custer.

    View from sitting area. Nice!

Crystal-clear water is surrounded by massive granite rock formations, towering pine trees, and some of the most picturesque landscapes you'll find anywhere in the region. One of our favorite parts was walking around the lake on the easy Shoreline Trail. The trail is well maintained and offers incredible views from every angle. We also enjoyed walking across the historic stone dam, which provides a fantastic vantage point for photos and a great perspective of the lake and surrounding rock formations. What makes Sylvan Lake special is that it's the perfect destination for almost everyone. Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, kayaking, swimming, rock scrambling, or simply relaxing in nature, there's something here for you. The area is clean, well cared for, and easy to access. The location is also an excellent starting point for hikers heading to Black Elk Peak, but even if you don't plan to do a longer hike, the lake itself is worth the visit. If you're exploring Custer State Park or driving the Needles Highway, don't miss Sylvan Lake. It's one of those rare places that looks even better in person than it does in photographs. I couldn't believe how spotless the bathrooms were every single time I went in, it was perfect. The electric sites are fairly close together, so if you're looking for more privacy, I'd recommend the walk-in sites. The unfortunate thing about the walk-in sites are the more secluded sites (like #16, #17, and #21) require a bit of an uphill trek. It's not a long walk, but it does take a little bit of effort to get everything up there. That said, Site #21 was one of the best campsites I've ever stayed in, it was worth the extra sweat. The only reason I'm giving this place four stars is because the trail to the walk-in sites is very rough. They do provide a wheelbarrow to help carry your stuff, but the terrain is so rocky that using it seemed like more trouble compared to just walking your stuff up. Overall we enjoyed our stay and everyone was so quiet, it really felt like it was just you in nature.
