Well to start off, I am not a golfer, so this review only pertains to the restaurant facilities, and not the golf course. My wife and I, have been going to this restaurant since 2015, since our oldest daughter brought us here for brunch one Saturday. What we really like about this establishment, is that everyone is always so friendly, and always so attentive to your needs. I haven't been to too many country club restaurants, but the ones that I have been to, have not always been this welcoming, or friendly. Today we had the pleasure of having "Ally", as our waitress (Ally has been our waitress the past couple times that we have been here). Ally is always on top of her game, and always goes above and beyond, what is required of her. Our water/drinks never got below half a glass without Ally asking if we would like more to drink. Today was no different, and we had a party 13 people (no special occasion, just Sunday family brunch), and she handled all of us like it was nothing. Anytime any of us needed something, Ally was right there to accommodate our needs, and always with a big smile. Then I cannot say enough about the gentlemen that makes the omelettes and waffles, he is always so friendly and attentive to your order request, and always with a big smile on his face. It's customer service like this that keeps us coming back. Keep up the great work, we'll see y'all next month. read more

Unfortunately, dog track. Get ready for a 5 hour round and if you talk to the ranger or call the pro shop, they'll tell you "You're right where you need to be, we have a 4:30 pace". You get what you pay for. Terrible management and terrible clientele. read more

Terrible course. The fairways are either swampy, dessert dry, or dirt. I wouldn't mind but the fact that they charge as much as they do is the annoying part. Many holes you cannot drive your cart due to bad conditions or poor layout. Golf carts are old and small. Range is a dessert. Do not golf here unless it's 1/2 off. You have 2-3 Marshalls how about spend that money on a greens keeper. Marshall was pushing us when we literally had TWO parties in front of us we were waiting on on a tee box. read more

Visited on Friday to discuss a tee time on Monday. Was told the course would be full with regulars. On Sunday a different staff said no problem and we got our preferred time and played as a twosome. It is a very hilly course with many roped off areas on the holes to restrict fairway entry. As an AK Amputee golfer this was a challenge. Husband removed a stake on one hole to enter and a Marshall who was following us around admonished this. We are seasoned home club golfers in PA and were very respectful on the course At all times. NOT a disability friendly course both by attitude and design. Husband shot 76 and I had 107 with a chip in birdie on 17. Since we visit family who just moved to Commerce City we will need to find a more accommodating public course. read more

Definition of a dog track. Don't expect to ever have a decent ly, or rewarded for a good shot because it doesn't seem like they even water the course. The fairways are concrete and the ruff is all weeds. If you hit a great shot to the green plan on putting on dirt. This place sucks. Shut it down and put that irrigation system in or start paying your customers to golf here. read more

I have to write this review and hope they read this as it's an easy fix on their part but made our round miserable. I played here yesterday on a 90 degree day. Every couple of holes there were water jugs, but not an ounce of water in them. The round took us 5.5 hours. We didn't see a cart girl until hole 10. That was 3 hours into our round. Unacceptable. Not only did we not have water for drinking, but towels as well to wash our clubs. They didn't have carts ready so we had to walk to range. Not a huge deal, but my range token didn't work so had to go back to club house, stand in line for 10 minutes, to go back. Reminds me of the crappy muni's I've accidentally played but 6x the price. I expect better. read more

Showed up to the course and they were out of carts (they said the always are on the weekends which would have been nice to know when i booked the tee time). Overall course conditions were not great. Overall, there are many better courses in the area with much friendlier customer service. read more

Yikes, middle of swing, mower was going on a hole, was told at 7:30 there was a bev cart girl, not to worry about anything, so we go without drinks at the start thinking she'd be around like told, first round was made at 11:40 on the green on hole 17. Well, Buffalo Run used to be a great course and always in immaculate shape. Well, welcome to 2021. The course has been destroyed. Every fairway is a disaster with 50% grass and 50% dead grass. Tee boxes haven't been mowed, neither have the fairways. The rough would qualify for the US Open and a perfect tee shot resulted in several lost balls just off the fairway because of that. There was no sign that the course had been mowed in weeks. It a shame, really. I hope you get a new groundskeeper to get back to your former glory. The damage will likely take a full year to recover. Drought was the excuse at the course. Yet it's been the wettest spring in a decade, so sorry, that doesn't sit with me. read more

Another nice, playable and enjoyable Colorado golf course. Not real long from the "almost" back tees (7040 yds) and plays a bit shorter. Most holes are straight away with few dog-legs. Couple of long par 3's, one is over 230 yds. but a bit downhill. No shade so bring your sunscreen. No marshalls to be seen and only saw the Cart Girl/Refreshment twice in 18 holes. Clubhouse is very nice with a restaurant that has a nice assortment of food. Rates are very reasonable for the course, $25 for us seniors. They do have some online specials, so check these out before you play. Pro Shop personal are friendly and helpful. Carts are equiped with GPS but I found that my handheld Bushness Yardage Pro was more accurate as the GPS was consistantly between 10-15 yards off the mark. Good place to play, course in good condition. Greens roll well, fairways consistant for good lies, rough is a little sparce in some areas. read more

Great Course! This course has been around Colorado since 1996 and has been recognized as one of Colorado's best! This course is good for all levels of play (5 sets of tees), it's a link style course with wide open fairways, rolling greens, serious bunkers and great views. The course is also reasonably priced, approx $62 bucks with cart. Try this course out guys you won't be disappointed! ps the club house has an awesome view from patio and wear sunscreen ! read more

Buffalo Run Golf Course - Golf Near Me - Commerce City, Colorado

Thursday, 9 am tee time. Finished the round in under four hours. I love this course. It's very well maintained. Even after 3 straight weeks of rain, the rough was mowed and wasn't overly difficult. There are 5 tee boxes. I played from the blues, but I think playing from the white yes would have been smarter. I haven't played in about a year, and 200+ yard par 3s are extremely tricky when you haven't played in a while. The course ranger was friendly. He even joked with us that we need to pick up our pace of play because we were only 30 minutes ahead of pace after 6 or 7 holes. If you're going to compare this to a high end course, you'll probably be disappointed. But for less than $50, I don't think there's a better course in the Denver area read more

First time at this course because a friend just moved to the area. Have heard good things, but the course is in very poor shape. Bare areas on the fairways and greens. Rough overgrown. They are working on the irrigation system but still proudly charging $62.50 for 18 with a cart. Until things are fixed and repaired, should not be more than $30-$35! Cart died on 18 and we passed another group that had theirs die on 15. Staff could only say..."Sorry, the carts are 9 years old". Appears as though maintenance has been an afterthought in many respects. It will be a long time before I would think about returning and reviews would have to be favorable. read more

Heads up you avid golfers, there are a few tricky holes. However, for the most part their poor greens are were in bad condition when I came here. The reason would be they are the magnet for crappy weather, it's quite difficult to upkeep when there's always weather around this course. It can be a pricey place, so I end up going to either the Knolls or Green Valley Ranch. However, they do have great twilight deals, check it out. read more

Wow, NOT a single ranger in site. Takes 2 hours to play 6 holes, is insane!!! Weekends you expect slower play but seriously over 6 hours to play here is not worth it. I would play anywhere else if you want to play in a reasonable time, because this isn't that place. Just awful!! HIRE A RANGER FOR THE WEEKENDS!!! read more

Played September 28th. Very slow play, 5:15 for an 18 hole round. That's a minor gripe though... My biggest gripe is the course condition. At least 3 fairway sections were hardpan dirt.... no grass! For $70, I will take my money elsewhere. read more

I'm no golf pro but I'm happy to have this as my "local" course. Prices can't be beat, especially twilight walking. The nice rolling fairways are hard and grass is short so you get a lot of roll. Bunkers are creatively placed and usually not much of a factor. I have yet to play the back 9 but am looking forward to it. read more

This course has been playing great since spring, as a golfer whom has a sub +6 handicap, it's great playing a long difficult course. It has it's challenges, the rough can be difficult(find the fairway, don't think you have to kill it off the tee). The greens have a fair amount of slope and are playing wonderful, with all the rain this spring the course has blossomed. I do wish the course was a bit more private with the surroundings, that's what keeps it from being a true gem to me. I play this course from the back tees and love the challenge, the links style layout is beautiful. Bring plenty of water!! I look forward to another round soon. read more

Played in the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society tournament today and had a great time! Our team played from the blue tees and started on hole #2 with a birdie. Staff was friendly and the course was in good shape....fast greens. BBQ after the event was delicious! Definitely will be back this summer! read more

This is a fantastic golf course! I golfed here as part of a Divas Tournament. The staff are very friendly. Austin gave me a ride to my car to get my clubs, and then delivered me to the start line. He was very pleasant and kind. I tried to tip him, but he politely declined, saying that it was their policy to not accept tips. The course is in fantastic shape. It is easy enough for me to negotiate, as a not-very-good golfer, but looks to be challenging for more experienced golfers. Paige was our drink cart server, and she was fantastic! She recognized me from dining in the restaurant two months ago. She's friendly and fun. Our new house will be minutes away from this course, and I'm happy to make it our regular course. read more

Update: I played here last weekend, and I had a more pleasant experience today than last year. The green fee for a round on the weekend continues to be reasonable. The marshal was friendly and we saw him a half dozen times during the round. The loud drill that was there last year is gone; presumably it was temporarily there to set up lines for the housing community. The fairways are being repaired on a few holes, which is slightly annoying but not terrible. The greens were in excellent shape for the most part. I love the quality of sand in the bunkers, especially since I hit two good shots out of them! No rocks or anything. I also found about a dozen balls in the tall grass, so if you have time, I'd suggest walking around. But beware of snakes! Previous: I played 36 holes here over a recent weekend. One reason I am giving them four stars is because the replay rate was super twilight price, something around $30 with cart. That is quite a deal. I like that the course is interesting and challenging. I don't like all the homes that are being built and are surrounding the course, but this is fairly typical for these courses in the Denver area (GVR is another example). When I first played the course over ten years ago very few homes were in the area. Not so anymore. One of the biggest negatives of Buffalo Run was the experience we had with their angry marshal. She was yelling and very pissy with my foursome. Now granted the people I was playing with were going too slow, but she was rude and aggressive about her commentary. I was slightly annoyed at my group, particularly since one guy was just learning to play and probably should have been playing simpler courses or par 3's until he figured things out. I do find this happens too often on challenging courses where beginners get on courses thinking they can "work on their game" while on a real course. I wish I was rich and could just join a small club and not have to deal with such annoyances! Anyway, one marshal was cool and the other was just mean and angry. The course conditions were iffy for being mid-summer. Some fairways seem to be in poor shape and the greens were just ok. Don't expect your ball to roll smoothly on these greens. I assume some of this might have to do with storms out there, but either way they aren't the best. Of note, one hole on the course has a loud drill (maybe oil, gas, don't really know) just to the right of the fairway. I feel badly for the people who live by it, but maybe they get royalties? Anyway, probably one of the stranger things you'll find on or near a golf course. I don't find it charming. It doesn't add to the ambiance of the place. Overall, paying $100 for two rounds of golf and range balls is a pretty good deal on a Saturday. I'll be back sometime but will be in no hurry. read more

Course was fantastic and greens were excellent. I would've loved to finish my round, but unfortunately I was told on the 15th teebox that we needed to stop immediately due to "sunset," despite the fact that this was at 8:10pm in the summer, and the sun was still fully above the horizon. When I checked in at 5:00pm, the pro informed me that sunset was at 8:30 and I would need to bring the cart back shortly after. I don't know why these employees feel that their time is more valuable than their paying customers, but it ruined my experience at Buffalo. This is the first time in years of playing golf that I've been told to stop playing before the sun goes down. I won't be playing here again due to this. read more

Thght I would give B Run another try. Had 2 bad experiences there a few years ago because of fairways and greens being disastrous. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Got a tee time Sunday morning yesterday 7:25 expecting to pretty much fly thru course. First 2 hole were horribly trashed, fairways, greens were ok. For the most part the course was in much better shape than my last 2 rounds. It took us 3 hours to play 11 holes. Marshal did nothing about it and argued with us that group in front of us (riding) was doing fine. They were a hole in half behind. Marshal would drive near them and look at them but never did he stop and talk to them. We literally waited on every single shot. It was miserable and I will never play your golf course again. The sad thing is we were there scouting your course for an event we wanted to host, bringing 48 people all local Denverites to play your course. Not going to happen. Don't play this course it is not worth the price or frustration. read more

It's not in the greatest shape, and there's not a tree out here for miles. Those are the only things I didn't really like about the place. The course itself is fun and challenging. If it was in better shape I'd be tempted to give it 5 stars. Clubhouse is really nice though and there are a lot of good views out here too. read more

Josh the Marshall is an a hole. After the ninth hole went to use the restroom like everybody in the world does. The group they had me paired up with went ahead and hit on the 10th hole. As I came up to hit he asked me like I was eight years old and he was my father . He said is there a reason why you're not with your group. I replied probably cause I went to the bathroom and they decided to hit without me because these are people I do not know. He said well then you need to go ahead and catch up. I said excuse me I'll catch up when I get up there . I could not believe this happened . TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL !!!!! read more

Loved it, I grew up golfing in Albuquerque, I have read the reviews about how bad the course is, try playing in dirt and sand all year long. I thought the course was awesome, it had some patches that are regrowing, but to me it was all part of the game. It was challenging and fun, we met some nice folks and even had time for a terrific lunch, Anna our waitress is someone that understands what customer service really is, oh the food was delicious. The golf course is GREAT, the restaraunt service, especially outdoor service, is lacking, to say the least!!! Just got done with a charity event with lunch served afterwards in their covered pavilion and it was like a plague of flies all over the food. I can't BELIEVE Buffalo Run expected PEOPLE to eat the food laid out on the table!!! I wouldn't have expected MY DOG to eat that food and yet, that's exactly what they did. They left the food lying out on the tables for the flies and people to scramble. The flies were in SWARMS and COVERED the food in droves. read more

This golf course is a true gem. That staff is phenomenal and provide the best customer service to all patrons. The Buffalo Grill has a great menu...food is delicious, and the staff is awesome. The course went through a rough period when the Metro area was in a drought some years ago, but the last few years the course is in awesome condition. I recently played and the greens are at their best...rolling true and smooth. The greens actually putted faster than expected considering the area received 2-3 inches of rain the night before. Buffalo Run also provides one of the best Men's Clubs in the Denver Metro area....loads of fun and awesome tournaments and an awesome groups of individuals...simply put...the best mens club I have ever played...period. I played this course 3 or 4 years ago and I remember it being in awful condition, the fairways were bare and the rough had dead spots everywhere. The greens were the only thing the course seemed to have spent its money on. Well fast forward to Oct 15 and I was asked to play with a buddy for $40. I thought why not it has been enough time for the course to get better, NOT!!!!! Same old lousy conditions with sparse fairways and dirt patches everywhere where the rough should be. The greens were ok but they had been punched about a month ago and were still showing signs of it. This is a very nicely designed course but I would never pay over $40 to play here. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very good but the course left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

A fine golf course. Greens are fantastic, great layout, should be pretty lush and well filled in over the coming months. There are two fantastic par 3's on this course laid out over a creek on an uphill shot and the other a downhill mid iron with water choking the green. A couple blind tee shots, lots of undulating fairways that provide mostly flat lies. Greens are soft and receptive, but fast. They are mostly pitched greens with some tiers, few undulations, but still plenty of sloping putts depending on the pin placement, and they are perfectly maintained and roll true. Couple nicely elevated fortress greens and a few terrific short par 4's you can play a hundred different ways. Length isn't much of a challenge but the rough is no joke here. The deep rough on a bad miss is prairie grass and fescue which basically guarantees a lost ball and penalty, so keep in mind the course really penalizes off line shots way more than poorly hit straight shots. Staff is super friendly and helpful (careful going for some of these par 5's in two, it's not worth the risk!), the practice green is wonderful, the bratwurst at the turn was on point. This is a great course for the true golf enthusiast or weekend warrior, and worth the modest price. Pace of play was fast for me when I played. Highly recommend. read more
