I've been a customer here for a little while now. I've seen Savannah every time. She does a great job, is honest, and the price is fair. Last time I had a simple builder gel manicure, pictured in this review is what it looked like 3 weeks later, after the gel was removed, and today's manicure. Yes, these are my real nails. Savannah makes sure to be gentle and keep the integrity of my natural nails. All of the techs seem to be excellent at what they do. Got my nails done here on Friday the 9th of November. Today is Thursday, November 15th and I am quite surprised. I've never had a manicure fare this well for more than three days. Bo did my nails and I'm not sure anyone can convince me to try a different person. He listened to all of my concerns about my nails and was able to carry on a conversation with just about any topic I brought up. I don't like the shape of my nails changed and don't prefer to have my cuticles cut off drastically. He delivered each request. I forgot to ask how much a manicure at this place was and was thrown off by how expensive it was, but won't hesitate to go back if my $22 manicure is lasting this long. Some highlights of the experience for me were the exfoliating cubes I used at the sink while washing my hands, the decor, and the fact that the stations are spaced out. I didn't feel like I was too close to other customers and their personal space or conversations. It was quite peaceful. I also like the fact that entering and exiting the parking lot is quite easy when there isn't too much traffic, so I'll try to go during non peak hours again. They get three thumbs up and I've scheduled my next appointment. read more

I haven't been to this place in over 2 1/2 years (wish I could post screen shots) received a missed call from them on 03 /21 from Dejah telling me i had an appointment it's 11:15 in the day I'm usually working at this hour so that was one red flag, not to mention I have a nail tech that I'm faithful too and have been for years. these people are weird. they can't say they called me by accident bc I haven't stepped foot in this salon in years which is another red flag that thy don't update their systems so imagine what else there not updating. Expected more from this place. It's in a fancy part of town and you would expect a nicer experience. It's not very clean, black surfaces have a lot of dust and nail filings. Also, the staff is way toooo loud. Clients come for some peace of mind and some quietness, not to listen to random jargon among employees. Wouldn't recommend for gel removal. My naturel nails have been sanded down so bad. I have a nick on my cuticle on 1 finger. Have had to put antibiotic cream on it. I've had polished removed from other salons but this was the worst. I'll be going elsewhere in the future. Also 2 times I've made reservations for a particular nail tech and each time I've been pawned off on another tech. Seems odd. Why chose a person if you're gonna get whoever is free. read more

My girlfriend recommended this place and I went in for a mani and Pedi. The shop atmosphere was very nice and the technicians were super friendly and accommodating. Helen did both and she did an excellent job and she was very nice. She listen and did exactly what I wanted. I wanted to try something different than the shellac and did the dazzle polish, I wouldn't use that polish again because it started peeling 2 days after but that not on Helen, Dazzle just isn't for me. I went to Buffed & Polished for the first time yesterday while in town for work. They came recommended from a coworker and I'm very glad I went! I'm confused as to why they only have 13 reviews because they deserve all the stars! I was running late and cut into their closing time and they were so polite about it even though I knew I was keeping them from getting home. They were quick to get to me and were so friendly throughout the entire manicure. They have an awesome selection of SNS color options and the salon is beautifully decorated! This is my go to salon in the west end. They have a clean and well designed place. Every time I have gone, they have had ample amount of people work to assist with walk ins, but they do get busy. I would suggest making an appt. They have a great color selection. I have always gotten a mani/pedi with varying types of pedicures available depending on your need I highly suggest getting one of their higher priced pedicures as they are soo worth it! I've been living in Richmond for 5-6 years now, and have had a really tough time finding a salon in Richmond that was as consistent in quality as the one I used to go to in DC. I'm always a little bit nervous trying somewhere new, but I'm glad I did. I saw Linda for a dip powder manicure and pedicure last week - and it was perfect. They have a great selection of colors, and I was so happy with how my manicure turned out (nail shape, thickness, etc.) Linda is clearly a skilled nail tech, and really meticulous with her work. Very friendly employee. But the point is the pedicure. No real removal of the dry skin. Heels look same. Two coats polish not top coat or base coat. No UV dry or any at all. Polish and go. $55 Disappointed. But honestly finding it hard to find anywhere at all that does the thorough pedicures like we're done in the past, even 7 years ago. However, the prices have tripled. It's one of the better nail salons I've experienced in the Richmond area so far. Nice, upscale retail center and the salon used new scrubbing pads per client, thank god, as well as a disposable liner in the pedicure bowls. My tech was friendly. Price is kind of high, and it's all about the upgrade, including the brand of polish you choose. The selection of polish colors is ok but not super broad. Many of the nail techs are very loud with each other, which disturbs the atmosphere for the clients. Note to staff: you're providing a service. Act professional. We (your clients) don't want to hear loud cackling and all your personal stories. Save that for later in the backroom. read more

Thankfully, after arriving a few minutes late for my appointment (thanks, Google) I met with Jessica who was ready to help make my nails look pretty. I decided on a basic manicure aka the glowing manicure since I only had so much time on my hands. Buffed and Polished has a good selection of Essie and OPI colors. They can offer any and all. Basic to Chrome. How fancy you want to go depends on how much you would like to spend. The spa is comforting and relaxing. Dark, natural wood, and black with today's hits playing in the background along with chatter from technicians. Jessica was great with explaining the process and answering my questions. I went to this location last weekend for a pedicure because my usual was booked and I needed a pedicure last minute before leaving town. The salon is nice & clean. The service however is mediocre. For $50 I was expecting my service to be more thorough. My pedicure felt rushed and the girl who did my pedicure was not really skilled at polishing. At the end of my pedicure I was given the option to sit and allow my toes to AIR dry (for a $50 pedicure) or offered a pair of the foam slippers to take with me. There was no quick drying option that was offered to me. All in all, not terrible, but definitely not worth $50. I pay $33 at my normal salon and get way more. I wouldn't visit again. read more

This place had gotten great reviews, so I went to check it out and was disappointed. First, it is very expensive in terms of the services provided as compared to other nail salons. I got the Signature pedicure with "jelly". The jelly part was like putting my feet in a vat of tepid applesauce. It was just weird. The rest of the service was perfunctory and really just mediocre. The interior is not warm or inviting, but rather a cold, cheaply decorated open space. The music was Pandora 80s mix with commercials, which was not soothing. The massage seat was broken. The footrest clanged around every time I put my feet down. The technicians chattered constantly about something that was upsetting, again not relaxing. I also had waxing which was hurried and not great. Needless to say, I won't be be going back.... read more

A very clean and welcoming place to relax in a fancy area while being pampered. The pedicures range in price and what they offer. I got the more expensive pedicure but it provided the works. My feet feel great and I throughly felt relaxed during my visit. I had Linda as a walk in and man was it a blessing.
