Initially upon dealing with this guy, he came off as polite just to reel me into signing papers to getting him paid. That was by far the most horrible choice I could've made! As if my sisters passing wasn't enough, dealing with this person has been beyond traumatizing! I would highly recommend anybody facing the unfortunate circumstances of having to plan a cremation or burial, DO NOT GO HERE!! I just called to follow up on a necklace I ordered to have my sisters ashes put into it, a $200 necklace by the way, that I ordered January 11th, I believe. Dominick said it would take 7-10 days to receive my necklace, I still do not have it. I called today and he yelled "your sister hasn't even been DEAD a full month and you're already calling me when I told you the necklace was on back order!!!!" Please, please! The funeral service continued with a beautiful procession to the family's neighborhood, the firehouse and then on to the cemetery. Pretty much went like clockwork. The staff were efficient, friendly, warm and helpful getting us all parked from arrival to heading to the cemetery.

It's hard to imagine that you have to trust so many strangers with what may seem like your loved one's final memory. The Leonardis family is in touch with the community. We even shared a laugh or two chatting about the neighboring towns (and one of my brother's delinquent behavior as a child..haha). I just thought the wake was done so well. After all, they are a business. When it was time to leave for the night and then again the next day before the funeral, they were sympathetic and helped my family along without being too pushy. You've gotta be a certain kind of person to handle that. Not to mention there was no one wiping their eyes with a sleeve because there were tissues were placed throughout the room. The one thing I will say is the bathroom is the teensy bit creepy to me. Probably because it's on the first/bottom floor of the memorial home. Just descending the short stairs can do things to your brain.. but overall if you want less stress, let the Leonardis family take care of you.

Absolutely horrible, they were dragging these puppies, strangling them with the leashes, adding additional leashes to pull them harder. We were a group of 5 people and two of us have dogs. We approached them and said please stop pulling so hard. The woman incharge says this is how we train them not looking at us and walked away pulling her dogs leash even harder. This organization should be shut down! We all posted reviews on google and it seems they took them down within hours. If you know you are not abusing these animals why were the reviews removed? Everyone on the ferry were looking at this group in horror. The volunteers had zero training and should not be doing this and the organization does not know what they are doing if this is how they train and treat animals. There are several other reviews saying the same from multiole different occasions!

For this mission they deserve a SHOUT-OUT and to all those that contribute to the cause. The Headquarters in Morristown and the additional dog training center in Chester, N.J. train Seeing Dogs. They breed dogs and raise puppies, train dogs and instruct the blind in the proper use, handling and care of the animals. You can see part of their training with handlers in the square in Morristown. Advanced training takes place on the streets of Manhattan, as well. Those dogs that do not qualify as Seeing Eye Dogs go on to law enforcement, search and rescue or put up for adoption. There are few adoptions available due to the fact that those that raise the dogs are given preference for adoption.

When we were unsure, Mr. DiMaggio had kind advice and suggestions, and when there was a difference between what we wanted and what was actually feasible, Mr.DiMaggio both explained the difficulty and found the right solution. Staff was present but completely unobtrusive during the wake - they were immediately there to see to any needs, but not hovering or intruding. I have also attended other funerals at Par-Troy and have seen that same level of care and compassion each time. At one funeral, the drive to the cemetery would take us on a toll road and Mr. DiMaggio offered anyone without an Easy Pass toll money from his own pocket to ensure everyone who wanted to attend graveside services could. It has been years since my experience planning a funeral, but I think of the DiMaggio family fondly for their help at a difficult time. Since that time I have attended other funerals there and I see them delivering the same excellent care to my friends and family members.
