I haven't been to a build-a-bear since I was like 8, but have always wanted to go back for fun as an adult lol. I was at the mall the other day with my boyfriend, and I was like let's just go in and see how much they are nowadays. We go in and we are the only ones there. They had plenty of "carcases" lol to choose from and a lot were around 20 ish dollars. I didn't want a dragon or a unicorn or anything wild, just a standard teddy bear. They had two colors for the standard basic bear and they were only 14$! I couldn't even buy a stuffed animal at Walmart for the price and I was getting to build this one, so I was like okay yes we are definitely doing it! The staff was really nice. She went through the whole spiel with us as if we were children so it was kind of funny, it made it more fun rather than just being a boring adult and saying okay stuff the bear. She had us choose a heart and let us put one each actually. We had to spin around and rub it on our head and all.. I felt a little ridiculous, but the point waaaas to relieve my childhood so I appreciate the effort! We stuffed the bear and just chose a little heart for him to hold that was 5$. I just wanted a simple t-shirt, but the clothing prices were a little wild, I guess that is where they make money. There was a sports jersey the same price as a legit one. I was happy to find the little heart though because I really did only want something simple. So my total was about 20$ for the bear and heart. I think that is super reasonable. I know kids probably want a lot of extras and the price can definitely add up, but as an adult it can actually be cute to come here for a special occasion or something. They have the voice boxes you can put inside the bear with a recording, I think people that do these with spouses over seas or loved ones that have passed are really nice and I definitely would recommend sentimental bears for adults especially if you just want a basic one, you can get the bear for 14$. Could be a really great gift! My only complaint is it didn't feel quite like it did before, probably because I am old, but even the layout of the store felt more like a shop and I didn't feel like I was walking through all of the steps. The stuffing part was dead center and there were bears on both walls and clothes in the back. I felt like as a child it was more of an Ikea flow, where you go through all of the steps and I really liked that. We did get to print the birth certificate though and named him Bearnard. The lady thought that was just hilarious haha I also asked for the house box which was an extra dollar. Idk if it used to be like that and my parents paid without me knowing, but it is now a dollar for sure. Nothing crazy. I just wanted it for the nostalgia. Anyways, recommend for kids of course but also for adults it can be cute and the prices are much lower than I was expecting.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop in the North Point Mall is a fun place to bring your children for a special occasion. I brought my grandson here to make a holiday bear. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. They helped us pick out a character and explained how the process works. We'll definitely be back.

Daughter was dancing outside your store today with binkys destined to live inside a bear. Staff was great, but at the last minute - said corporate told them they could not assist us in any way with putting a binky or pacifier inside a bear. Changed few months ago. Couldn't leave bear unsown. Had to cut strings. "Can't let you leave the store that way" they said.... but you can buy and install plastic heart beat electronics or voice recorders. We've been planning this for over 1 year and you completely screwed us over today. Thanks BAB corporate for not finding ANY way to accommodate the many customers that expect this service our culture has talked about for many years, and recommended BAB for. Zero. Zilch. Never again. I'm still upset.

You are never too old to build a bear!

We have gone to Build a Bear occasionally since 1999. They have a very consistent product throughout their stores and we always enjoy the experience. We went to the Alpharetta location fort 16 year olds birthday this year. She loved getting her Ironman bear:)

They tell you that you can touch the dinosaurs that you can reach without crossing the ropes. There's a big sandbox to "dig up" dinosaur bones with paintbrushes. I really didn't expect my teenager to enjoy himself, but he had fun too! That pleasantly surprised me. I think we all learned a few new things about where certain dinosaurs lived, and some dinosaur names we hadn't heard of before. The ONLY reason it's not getting a full 5 stars is because of a couple of reasons - 1 - A couple of the dinos could use maintenance. One of them has long claws that are a little broken. (You can see the inner structure poking out.) The small T-Rex looks like his eyes are having issues opening back up after it "blinks." 2 - The only staff member that wasn't very friendly was the cashier at the souvenir shop. He seemed like he really didn't enjoy his job. It's not the most fun position to have there, I'm sure, but it does have an effect on the full experience for customers. Definitely a place to check out for anyone that has kids that have any interest in dinosaurs.

Very cute exhibit. Restrooms are clean and fully stocked. I think more lighting should be added to…read morethe actual coloring area and other areas in the exhibit with better directions signs.. Also the marker need to be checked daily so the children will have multiple colors to color the dinosaurs. I won't hurt to redo the layout and completely close off areas guest should not be. Overall cute little place .

Operated by DreamWorks, this is North Point Mall's Shrek-themed Santa experience from Nov. 8 - Dec…read more 24, 2014. It's an adventure in a multi-room gingerbread house in the lower-level center court of the mall. We recently took our 14-month-old so that he could meet Santa. Because I think this is probably really cool if you have older kids, I almost gave it three stars, but because it ends up being a commercialized racket, I dropped it to two stars at the end of writing this review. Brief description: At no cost, you make an appointment to go on what they claim is a 15-minute adventure to see Santa. Before entering the house, you take a family photo with Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey outside. Then the adventure entails visiting four different rooms in the house as you journey to the North Pole. It's an elf-guided interactive experience that involves about three families at a time, depending on the number of family members. Eventually, you reach the end of the journey to meet and have pictures taken with Santa in a private room. After that, you are ushered out to the gift shop to wait for your pictures and select a photo package. Now for the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. (1) You have an appointment. Good: You get to plan your schedule without the hassle of a long line filled with other germy children. Bad: If you show up without an appointment because you didn't know you needed one, you end up like my cousin with two dressed up kids in tow who find out that they won't be meeting Santa because all of the slots are full that day. Ugly: You have an appointment but the entire experience lasts more than 15 minutes. Case in point: We had an appointment for 1:46, started the adventure around 1:50, and didn't meet Santa until about 2:25. (2) You go on an adventure. Good: It's an interactive experience as you wander the gingerbread house with your guide. In one room, each family uses a computer screen to design a sleigh on which to travel to the North Pole. Depending on family size, the elf puts you in an area with enough screens to (hopefully) accommodate each member. In the next room, you board the sleigh and go on a ride (i.e., watch a motion-inducing movie with special effects of slight vibration and a gentle wind machine) to the North Pole. In the final room before meeting Santa, you wait in an area with a few seats and a handful of computer screens with a game for the kids to play as the elves call you back by family to meet Santa. Bad: While the activities were awesome for older kids, my little guy couldn't appreciate them, and my husband and I didn't know what to expect based on the limited description on the North Point Mall website. It doesn't seem like there is a way to skip the interactive experience and go straight to Santa because there are groups in each room at any given time. Ugly: If you are claustrophobic, this is NOT for you. The rooms are dark and very small with many people crammed inside. Also, it gets hot in that little house. My child was sweating by the time we met Santa. (3) You don't know what you will pay. Good: There's no up-front cost for the adventure, so you could just hit this up for the experience and little ornament they give you at the end. Bad: You don't know what you will end up paying. At the end, an elf rattles off the photo package "options" so quickly that it's impossible to really understand what you're getting, other than the fact that for $30, it sounds like you get two 5x7s of what the staff deemed was your child's best photo with Santa. For $50, you walk away with the option of digitally downloading all of the pictures with Santa (for us, about six or seven), your family photo, and a picture of the sleigh you designed. I could have lived without the latter items, but it was our only option to get all of the pictures with Santa. Ugly: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WILL END UP PAYING. I cannot stress how much this part sucks. First, the only picture they let you actually see is the one they decide is the best. They print it for you, so you can't even look at a computer to pick the one you think best represents your child's Santa experience. For us, they picked a photo where my son was wide-eyed with fear only because it was the one picture in which he was looking at the camera. Second, your older child is likely to pitch a fit if you decide you don't want to buy the package that includes the picture of the sleigh. This happened to the family behind us. It wasn't pretty. Third, you walk out from seeing Santa into a gift shop to wait for your pictures. A GIFT SHOP. A Shrek-filled gift shop right before Christmas. Good luck saying no to your child while you wait another 10 minutes to see your picture and then another 10 minutes while you wait to pay. Best part? They declined our credit card, but we later learned via e-mail from American Express that it was declined because Adventure to Santa doesn't accept American Express. Maybe somebody should tell the employees.

My kids enjoyed the slides, zip line, ninja area, Wipeout and basketball area. I felt safe and comfortable here as well. The staff was present and engaging. They were clearly watching to make sure rules were being followed and everyone was safe. Unlike other places, the staff here is not on their phones and ignoring you. They are actually looking at the children and paying attention. There are a few seating areas for parents placed throughout the facility. That made it easy to keep an eye on them, regardless of which activity they went to next. The signage isn't the greatest, so it could be tough to find. I'm not sure what this building used to be, but it currently says pickleball above the main entrance.
