Today we had an underwhelming and expensive experience to say the least. Our first time experience at Build A Bear was extremely disappointing. We stopped by the store for my daughter's seventh birthday and unfortunately we were not greeted nor did any employee working there bother to explain to us the process of how Build A Bear works. Mind you we came on a Thursday around 11:30am so the store wasn't crowded. Anyway the animals range from $24-$34 dollars then you can choose an animated voice or your own voice (for a price of course) my daughter chose a little short giggle which costs an extra $7. Then they stuff the animal and make the child pick a heart and they say a little spiel which the girl who works there had no enthusiasm at all to be in a place that caters to children. You can also buy clothes for your bear/doll which costs more money. I believe we spent $14 on an outfit. Then you have to pay again for a box or a bag to take your bear in lol Overall the experience and toy just wasn't worth it. It's like we were rushed to just buy our toy and leave. Never again

Not the BAB I remember as a kid. Seemed pretty small and empty. We went to use a gift card given as a present and to have a special day to celebrate summer. My daughter immediately wanted to make a Jurassic world dinosaur that roars... however the sound creation machine wouldn't work (even after they rebooted it), which was disappointing. The employee said we could just stuff the dinosaur first and add sound at the end once they could get it working. In the end without confirming, she had us do the heart-wish ceremony and just sewed up the dinosaur, saying it would take too long to get in touch with technical support (I mean maybe we would have waited and come back another time if I had known this before but whatever.) I redirected my 5 year old with the "wash" station and to pick out clothes. FYI after a thorough search hardly any items fit the dinosaurs- we settled on a skirt, ill-fitted bear shirt, and a ear bow (which i have to alter at home to fit as a headband). I then realized the birth certificate area was broken as well - so no naming or getting a printed birth certificate. Sigh When we went to check out, our $25 gift card wasn't scanning for some reason. Thankfully they honored it which i can only assume is because they must be used to their system not working. I would have been over-irritated if we had gone through this for nothing (and let's face it- what monster would make their kid put their new lovey back). At checkout, you discover then that now they charge additional for the classic boxes to take home your new stuffy, so we said forget it (but really?!) I would give this experience 1 star in comparison to the BAB I remember growing up, BUT I gave 3 stars just because the employees were bubbly and nice. Must be frustrating working somewhere where the equipment is broken and you can't get ahold of technical support- But they were still very nice and as helpful as possible. This store needs help from corporate- with multiple things broken.

Tracy was amazing! And that's an understatement because no word will truly describe how genuinely she will take care of your needs!

The space is super colorful, creative, and perfect for kids to explore and get hands-on. There were so many different slime textures and scents to try, and everything was really well organized. My daughter loved being able to play freely and make her own slime, and I appreciated how engaging it was without feeling chaotic. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. It's definitely a great spot if you're looking for something different to do with your kids.

I had heard mixed reviews so wasn't expecting much but even with that it was a let down. I planned 2-3 hours to be here, took us under 1 hour. Most of that time was spent making our slime. There are add ons but for our family it was $200 to go in we weren't about to add anything on. Things looked dirty, things were broken and it was showing its age. Just by the faded outside of the building/sign. Once institute they check you in and asks everyone to wash their hands at the tiniest sink I've ever seen. Then you sit down and listen to the rules. You make a name tag, get to add slime to a wall, then get to feel 6-7 cats of slime, do this silly computer thing that asks 1800 questions and tells you your slime buddies name (total waste of time and money on their part), now you stand behind glass and shoot slime at each other (our favorite but a quick thrill), then another room with the same slime textures, inside that room in a small musical room that was pretty cool, take a self with their logo, then make your own slime, after making your slime walk down a hall feeling the same slime textures again, then a gross wall where everything was brown from touching, now take off your shoes and walk in slime. That's it! That's everything. We felt we took our time but with washing hands to visiting their store we were done in under an hour. $16 per person to get in okay, $31 heck to the no, not worth it whatsoever. Make the trip from Austin just to take your slime loving kids.... Again heck no not worth it. The girl at the charm station was super friendly, we didn't see much staff other than that.

From the start, everyone is required to remove their shoes before entering the play space. There are plenty of seating areas for the adults to supervise their children at each section of the playspace. It is sectioned off based on age, so you don't have toddlers running over infants. The party room was quiet and spacious, and the attendant was very polite and attentive to the host family's requests. One practice that this place has for birthdays is to call the group to the dance floor for a dance party before transitioning into the party room. I think it's really thoughtful as the kids aren't abruptly pulled from playing straight into the party room, providing an organic transition. Throughout our time here, I saw workers vacuuming the floors and cleaning the common areas. There is a coffee counter in the back with drinks for purchase as well as concessions for sale in the front. The bathrooms were immaculate. Since everyone is wearing socks, they provide foot coverings at the bathroom entrance. Lastly, a very unexpected bonus was the Lactation Room that my bride discovered that is quietly tucked in the back, fully furnished with a recliner, soft lighting, changing table, sink, bottle warmer, outlets, and even a small bench for additional children. I would 10/10 recommend this place for a playdate or hosting a birthday party.

We attended this place for a classmates birthday party and paid for socks. We ended up being charged for the entire amount of the birthday party even though it was not our child's party. We were charged $350 and while the establishment provided us a refund of partial refund of ~$324, we are STILL awaiting a refund of $25. Before you ask, this was not the cost of the socks as we paid that on a separate charge which we did not dispute. Unfortunately due to false promises by establishment we are now outside of the window of being able to charge back. We continued to have emails promising a refund with no action. (see emails below) I would never attend this place and DO NOT recommend this place for anyone due to this. This is complete craziness that they would even allow for this to occur.

The little snack room to the side is a nice place for kids to get together and take a break and eat something. It's nice to have a playdate there because your kids are enclosed and gated in and can basically entertain themselves and you can still talk to another adult without losing sight of your kid. Definitely send your kid in socks because it can smell a little like feet as is any gym. Also bring a physical credit card to pay because they do not take tap pay as I learned after I unloaded my child and all his things and only brought my phone in. Parking is easy and a plenty. It's in the back row of buildings in case you miss it the first go around.
