The Mat is very rough and pieces of it are all over my car just from the drive home. I'm not sure how long it will last but it's rather small for $50. She looks forward to each Saturday class with Ms. Taylor for fun, age appropriate games and activities, friends, catchy songs (my husband and I have been singing the 'sitting in my high chair' song all day) bubbles, and of course the indoor playground equipment. She has a blast each time we go, and we love the atmosphere and loosely-structured play environment. While it's encouraged for your kids to follow along with the group activities, if your little one just wants to roll a ball one day, or go up and down the slide, no worries! You be you, little one. Be sure to bring socks for all adults, because if you forget you have to buy a pair for $10 at the front. Kiddos go barefoot to prevent slippage, but do wear play clothes suitable for active play (leave the baby suits and dresses at home and opt for a comfy onesie!). The way Gymboree operates is with a monthly membership that gives you one or more class a week, plus unlimited visits during open gym hours. They have different types of classes available, so depending on what you and your kiddo want for structured play you can choose the appropriate class. We opted for the Play and Learn 3 class after attending the Play and Learn family class we did for our free preview. The family class is for all ages 0-5, and is geared towards families with multiple children attending. It was fun, but we decided the age-appropriate class made the most sense for us. As an FYI- more Hina one adult can attend with your child at once. We attend on Saturday and most of the kids have both parents in attendance, and it's a fun way to meet other parents in the area. Now if only we could incorporate mimosa into Gymboree play, that would be the best of both worlds.

Ok, I am not a thin person, but certainly she has seen other people that are big in her lifetime. There was another big person at the class, but she only warned me about her cracked chairs. The vessels for the terrariums were really extra small. I managed to get the only normal sized bowl. My sister had to get a tiny one. For $40 the vessels should have been bigger. Or allow you to make two. Brittany asked everyone what was the first step to put together a terrarium and I said the rocks. She said no, it is the sand. The brochure she handed out at the end of the night also said to start with a base of rocks. If you want to have customers, be prepared to have all shapes, sizes and colors. If you are not open to that, do not expect return customers. I love this kind of stuff but I will not be back. Can't stop thinking how she made me feel like I was so huge, her chairs would break.
