I just went into this establishment and six out of around 12 flavors were out of order. When I inquired if I could try a flavor i was met with a no . Actually her exact answer was my boss is really strict with tastings . I said how do I know I want a whole cup of something if I can't taste it first ??? I decided to get plain vanilla thinking it was the safest choice ,and when I went to pull the lever it dispensed milky water .Gross !!! The staff did NOT come around the corner to see or inspect the machine just said oh yeah we can chuck that cup because "it must be out too." neither of the two young ladies bothered putting a sign on the now out of order vanilla even though there was a new customer entering . Me and my friend got less than half a cup each with no toppings. Unbeknownst to us if we would like the flavors for a whopping $15 dollars ! I asked if the owner was in and was met with a no yet again , proceeded to ask when will they be in again met with an idk . I asked what their name was and was told that info could not be given to me . As an owner of a business myself customers should be allowed to speak with management or a higher up like a boss if there is an issue. Super disappointed with my whole experience. I have lived in tenafly for over 30 years and this is extremely sad to know that these are the types of businesses infiltrating our town . To the young lady behind the counter (perhaps her name is Ava not sure she gave me her real name ) who offered no help with anything only attitude might want to not be stuffing her face full of food when customers are entering . This place is cute and clean and that's about all it has going for it. However, the flavors have that strong artificial flavor that stands out. The sad part is; all I could taste is that. The toppings were all stale from most likely sitting out for hours and no one rotating them. It's a very small place and not a place you'd want to hang out and eat your yogurt in. I was very excited to get frozen yogurt tonight! Except I was very disappointed in this place due to getting there and being turned down because they were closed. On the website it says it will be open from 12-11pm on Fridays. Even yelp says it's open until 11 on Friday. I hate to say this, but for me, BYY really beats out Red Mango. The yogurt here is less melty than Red Mango's and tastes a little sweeter. I haven't tried out everything yet, but they have a huge selection of flavors and toppings (although I don't use any). So far, cake batter, cappuccino, and dulce de leche are my favorites. Some of the other flavors taste a little weird though. Something about the vanilla and the red velvet seemed a little off. One random observation: the spoons they give you here are really nice; way too nice to just throw away. So, I've been saving them up to reuse at home. Free spoons! read more

I've been here a quite often during the summer as well as their other location in Cresskill and almost every time was not pleasant. I've had better experiences at this location in Tenafly but still not great. The froyo first of all is VERY overpriced. Since we were in the middle of the pandemic during the summer months you were unable to actually fill Your own cup and the workers did it for you... I would spend about $10 per cup...without toppings. Its run by high school girls working their summer job, a few a them were super nice and helpful when it came to recommending flavors etc....there were a couple times I was here, a girl was there was yelling at another practically cursing her out and then leaving the store saying something along the lines that she's related to the owner and therefore can do whatever she wants? I've seen that girl at both locations being rude to customers and the staff another time when I was at the Cresskill location she was being short with a customer as if the customer was annoying her for coming into the shop...I don't think she's high school age like the other girls but it really put me off. I've seen the owner once and she's not that friendly either so if that girl and the owner are related, they should work on their people skills (this is coming from an HR Professional). My husband and I spent a lot of time out here in the area because we were trying to get out of the city for a bit and we were able to stay with some family. We love all things froyo and ice cream and because it was the closest place we new of we came here fairly often. We over looked the rudeness and the priciness but the final straw was when I found MOLDY strawberries in my froyo, completely ruining it for me and I had to toss it. I didn't want to go back to complain and deal with the rudeness of that girl since I saw her berate other customers before. The froyo itself is actually quite tasty but the experience of going there just kills the whole vibe. We found a better ice cream shop in Englewood where the service AND ice cream is just fantastic so it's worth the drive for us to stop coming to BYY. read more

The only good frozen yogurt place left in Tenafly. I was so upset when the Red Mango closed/changed to whatever froyo place is there now, but was glad to have discovered BYYY. They have a lot of flavors which all taste great. The mango sorbet and eurotart are my go to's. The frozen yogurt melts bizarrely fast so I can never get too much. The toppings variety is similar to red mango so I have no complaints there either. Always visit this place when I'm back home. read more

Don't buy their gift card, any gift card! I purchase a $100 gift card and the owner offered an additional $15 to spend. After the card was used to $85 it stopped scanning! He offered $75. I don't use it often or at all lately, but it has no expiration date on these cards! Friday, my kid used it and again there was nothing! Now he offered me $40. For $100 gift card, I have only $70 worth of value. He won't sell the $100 gift card anymore but it doesn't help me. If you don't trust your customers why have any? Just use your credit card! Could use an update inside.... the interior is a little tired. but we like the make your own yogurt cups with a variety of toppings. There's always a Nick show on the TV so the kids can zone out and watch it while you're eating on one of their benches. It's not the greatest atmosphere for adults but I think kids are ok with it. I have been purchasing the NSA (Non-Sugar Vanilla) flavor for years, plain, without any toppings. Recently, at the Tenafly location, the NSA color is yellowish and not white in hue(should be pure white or close to the color of snow as the NSA in the Cresskill location). In addition, the yogurt does not have any taste as it is yellowish in hue. At the Creskilll location, the flavor is delicious, plain, without any toppings. I have voiced my concern to the employee and he became defensive accusing me that it was the same in color and texture. I beg to differ and if you compare the two yogurts side by side anyone with a brain and eyesight can clearly distinguish the difference. The employee is obstinate and refuses to rectify the Tenafly NSA flavor or even admit the color is different from the white yogurt mixture in Cresskill (bought it last week at the location). I warn you, do not buy the NSA flavor in the Tenafly location (lacks any taste by itself); furthermore, I cannot support an establishment with a condescending employee who argues with a supportive customer throughout the years. I will be taking my business to the new Gelato place in Englewood! read more

This store honestly has amazing frozen yogurt it is quality. But the one young lady who works there has a bit of an attitude problem. If this lady had a better attitude I would have put more stars. I got to the store at 8:45 and they close at 10! I really was in the mood for vanilla and I went to the machine and to my surprise it was off. I just thought maybe it's broken but I asked the girl anyways just to see if it was broken but it was her just being lazy and not wanting to do her job. If the store says it closes at 10 it should act like its open until 10. Another time I was there this same girl was working and a child asked her where the bathroom was she gave the young boy the biggest attitude and rolled her eyes. This is honestly unacceptable! I can't get enough frozen yogurt these days and this place has been my favorite yet! It's one of those build your own where you pick the flavors and toppings and pay based on the weight. Love that! There were a wide variety of yogurt and low fat yogurt. I mixed a few different flavors and they were all delicious! I chose fruit toppings-blueberries, strawberries and mango. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! I went there for an Açaí bowl on Friday night. Now they only have 4 varieties of bowls they wouldn't let me make a custom bowl. So I said to the woman that I would take the bowl as they prepare them just leave off the strawberries. I am allergic and I can't eat them. She says we can't do that. So now I am stumped. So I say ok fine then just give me the bowl the way it is and I will just get rid of the strawberries..... After being in the store going through this fiasco for 10-15 mins a large group of children come into the store with 1 adult for supervision. They kids are running everywhere, just completely going crazy and the woman says absolutely NOTHING to these kids. I have kids so I know how they can get ... No worries.. I am also a parent and know how to control children. The woman just says to the lady behind the counter ...." I am paying for ALL of these kids". So the lady behind the counter says to me .. I um ..um... I hope you are not in a hurry because I have to help all of these kids. So I say I have been here 10-15 before they even came in , why can't you just make my bowl, ring me up , and I will be on my way. The woman behind the counter says.... I'm sorry but I have to help everyone! I said I get it , I was here first , just make my bowl and I am done. AgaiN she says I'm really sorry but I have to help them too!! I was completely blown away but the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I NEVER RECEIVED.... I JUST LEFT! I said I will take my money to another place that treats its customers correctly. This really is one of the best local frozen yogurt places in the Bergen County area. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and the place is kept really clean. On top off that, they have more toppings than I could ask for. They always have what I need, and the frozen yogurt itself is great quality. Better than Red Mango's which is also in the same town. I'll start off with saying my yogurt was good and they had a lot of toppings to choose from but my friends and I had a not so great experience here. We came in about 12:30, the sign on the door says they open at 12 although Yelp would lead you to believe otherwise. There was no one in the store when we walked in, understandable and we figured the employee(s) were in the back and we are familiar with DIY yogurt places so no problem, we helped ourselves. Well, after 2 people in our group got murky yogurt water instead of frozen yogurt when trying the chocolate and some other flavors they showed the girl who was texting behind the counter. Instead of letting us know that some of the flavors were broken or not ready (there were NO signs indicating this) she instead jumped up and told my friend she used the wrong handle for the flavor she was trying to get. My friend replied that she had used that handle, and got water. The employee came out from behind the counter to I suppose prove my friend wrong to show her which handle was to be used. The froyo came out as water. My friend got a new cup and we stayed away from the handles we were now aware were not working. We all paid for our yogurt and left. All the flavors are either low or non fat so I don't feel guilty afterwards! A must try for anybody who loves froyo. It's very clean and family oriented! Where do I even begin! This is absolutely one of the best froyo places I have ever been to! I write a blog in my school newspaper about the latest froyo joints and let me tell you guys something. Of the 57 froyo places I've been around the COUNTRY, including 32 within the wonderful state of New Jersey, BYY exceeded every expectation I had. I like to consider myself a froyo "conessuier" of sorts and I have tried every flavor from A to Z. BYY provided me with flavors I had NEVER seen before. From the tantalizing Mint Cookie Crumble, to the delectable caramel cake, to the ever refreshing Mango Tango sorbet, BYY froyo flavors will NOT disappoint. I think there were over TWENTY ONE FLAVORS!!!! Multiply that by the possible flavor combinations and you'll understand what I mean by VARIETY at its finest. Don't even get me started on the toppings. I'm getting a froyo craving just thinking about it!!!
