After contacting both Bart Fireside and the manufacturer, Stoll Industries, Stoll acknowledged the mistake and sent the correct part at no cost. Bart Fireside refused to issue a refund for the incorrect item, stating that I had received the part I needed, which contradicts Stoll's confirmation. I am disappointed with Bart Fireside's handling of this situation and their lack of accountability.

My husband installed it and after he finished, we noticed it was the wrong color. The company came back over and took it out and boxed it up. They did a reorder for us. After many weeks they brought over the new one and it looks great! However, it's now too hot for a fire. We did throw a couple of logs in the fireplace and lit them to see how it looked. Looks great! I guess we will get to use it next winter. Good quality. They also have a really good Green Egg selection and accessories. Great store!

Unfortunately I had gotten swamped in work at this time and l lost contact with David. About 2 months had passed and when I reached out to him again it was like nothing ever changed and we had just spoken yesterday. He remembered exactly what we agreed upon and even had the parts needed to install our system within 2 days. I don't remember the name of the technician who came out to install the lock but they were very professional and friendly. He answered all of my "dumb" questions I had with a smile and installed our system easily within about 2 hours. I would highly recommend these guys for any of your locksmith needs.

I immediately thought I must've read their hours wrong for a Saturday. As it turned out, I hadn't read them wrong. Their hours said they would be open until 5 PM. Boy I felt like I had been punched in the gut. It wouldn't have been so bad, but I made a special trip from out of town. I really felt unappreciated as a customer. Maybe the owner needs to realize that customer service is more than just assisting people inside the store, but also entails giving reliable information to their customers. Elgin is lucky to have a great place where we can go get what we need quickly and have people there who know what they are talking about. And so, some of the prices, not all, but some are a little more than the big box stores. The way I look at it is, my time is worth more than saving a few bucks here or there. My husband then texted the project supervisor directly and asked for an update. No return text. He then called and left a message. No return call. He called the office again and the receptionist told us she would get in touch with him and we will be contacted right away... however, again no response. Not sure why we have had to chase after them for 3 weeks. There is no professionalism with this business. If they are unable to complete the project (even though we were told it can easily be done when coming out) then the right thing to do is tell us so we can look for someone else.
